Well 1st off I expected it to have more levels. In frontline it had 19 levels. In rising sun it only has 10 levels. Though they are levels are longer, rising sun is not worth $50. I would say more like $40. I would strongly recommend renting it 1st
Overall a disappointment, but it had it's moments

I called the first Medal of Honor for PS1 "one of the greatest games I'd ever played." I loved Frontline and Allied Assault for the PC. So I was excited to hear they were developing a MOH for the Pacific theater. Perhaps I had too high expectations, perhaps I've finally got enough of the MOH series, but Rising Sun was a disapointment for me.
The opening sequence is set in Pearl Harbor and is clearly the highlight of Rising Sun. The action is fun and the visuals for this part of the game are stunning. Unfortunately it's downhill from there.
Rising Sun really offers nothing new in the terms of gameplay. The settings are different, the soldiers react somewhat differently than German soliders, but it's still the same game. Other than a mid-level save feature, there's not much new in this version.
One of the frustrating things about the game is that you can empty a clip into an enemy soldier at point blank range, or shoot them in the torso several times with a rifle, only to have them keep going. At times I felt like I was not in the Pacific but rather on Krypton.
MOH and WWII devotees will enjoy it, especially the opening Pearl Harbor scenes. But the game is very short and doesn't offer much beyond Pearl Harbor and I fear the average game player will be fairly bored with the rest of the game.
For the love of God, do not buy this game!!!

This is by far the worst game in the Medal of Honor series. The plot is boring, the graphics are lacking, the controls are unnatural and difficult, and the game is too short. I can't believe I actually spent fifty dollars on this game. Please, don't make my mistake. Rent it first and see what I mean.
Rent it first, buy it next

I think that this is a good addition to the MoH series. I bought frontline before it was even considered a greatest hit. I personally feel that it is about time that EA switched from euope to the pacific. I own frontline, Allied assault, and spearhead and after all that i grew tired of blowin up nazis, and was anxiously awaiting rising sun when i found out. I rented it and beat it in three days. I could not believe the effects they put in. They are jaw-dropping. The choice of weapons is good. The only problem i see is that whenever you grab hold of a mounted gun, a horde of enemies comes at you. this is one of the few unrealistic flaws that has carried over form frontline(if you dont know what i mean, do the Fal of the phillipines in Rising Sun and then do A Chance Meeting in Frontline and compare the enemies behavior. Rather short game, but the co-op feature will prove interesting. The addition of multiplayer makes rising sun well... rising sun! The multiplayer maps are outstanding. EA has out done itself and i anxiously await rising sun 2. it may be a short game, but the amount of extra objjectives and the multiplayer feature will keep you busy for a while.

I have a bunch of the Medal of Honor games (Frontline, Allied Assault, Breakthrough, Sadly the game for gameboy advane) and they have all pleased me. I got Rising Sun for my birthday and was incredibly excited. I played the first mission (Pearl Harbor) and was a little unhappy but still I was waiting what else the game had to offer. Well, about five or six missions passed by and I was still waiting. Before I knew it I was flying a way in a plane and the game ended. Like watching the end of the first Lord of the Rings I wondered, "How Could it end here????!!!" I was very disapointed in the game. There are some good features to it. The multiplayed is fun. The internet play was useless for me because I do not have Broadband. The Co-op mode is a cool new thing but like the single player it was just as upsetting when it ended so short. I am a big fan of the MOH series but this was a huge disapointment. I would probably suggest Call of Duty. I have not played it yet but if you watch the commercial, man does it look really cool! Overall this was a big disapointment and I urger anyone to pass on this one!

I really liked Frontline. It was great fun. Couldn't put it down. Rising Sun, not so fun. Guess it's pretty average as far as games go, but there wasn't the WOW cool! feeling I got from playing Frontline.
I finished it in 2 nights; 6 hrs tops, so I'm really glad I rented it.
I feel bad for the EA employees (who are probably the ones who are writing the rave reviews in this forum)...They probably were under a lot of pressure to release a so-so product before Christmas.
Good- but too short and too easy

ok, this game to me is very cool, as at the beggining you get to shoot down Zeros, cool graphics at the beggining and great sounds.
i bought the game for £30 and so far i think it was worth the money. i bought it 3 days ago and im already on the 7th level.
The japs are un-real, they run up to you and swing their sword at you, pull put a grenade and blow their heads off :)
WEll, your team mates are stupid, The japs will control a built to the ground machine gun miles away. and your team mates would just stand there and shoot wi th a pistol. silly.
great weapons, but you only get to use like 3 of them in 1 level so you do get bored of them. MOH frontline was good, but i think this beats it by a whisker :)
multiplayer! good old multiplayer! 2 players - GREAT! 4 - players - you need glasses, the crosshairs are so small you need to be like 5cm away from the screen. i havn't played it online, and im not going to.
i think, you should buy it, not sure? rent it then buy it :)

I got this game for Christmas and I beat it on the same day. It was way too easy and way too short. I beat it in less than three hours. It has pretty dang poor graphics and I don't like that you have to shoot the dirty japs about 4 thimes to kill em .I was disgusted that it costs $50 brand new and if you want to take it back you only get $25. I hope this helps you.

This game is fun but don't waste $50 on it. It is quick and easy to complete and pretty much the same thing over and over with some new scenery. It is not very challenging at all and you can easily complete it in 4 to 5 hours. Frontline is 100 times better than this game. You would assume that the newer versions would be better but they are not Max Payne 2 is the same way.
great action war game.....and graphics
