I love this game! You get to play as a different guy because Patterson is off fighting the Nazis. I love the weapons and I love fighting the Japanese and I especially love the pearl harbor mission. I played the game with my brother and we really like the game! I'm a big fan of Medal of Honor and I was excited to get the game. The bad things about this game are in every other Medal of Honor so I didn't let it bother me. I really enjoy this game!

A very good game, uses actual events in the war. Co-op is fun to play, as well as single player. The graphics are very good in the game, although the arsenal isn't that great.
A must own on PS2!!!

I loved this game! It was fantastic from the very beginning to the end. The only draw back was the level after Pearl sucked once you get past that it's all good. I mean why have the player walk around this cool base ball field and not throw any enemies at him. BAD GAME DESIGN! However the game picks up in the dark jungles of Guadalcanal. Not only does it look great but the game design is well thought out and fun! I can play Midnight Raid over and over again! Thank you EA for created a completely immersive first person experience.
The game was wayyyyyy tooooo short, but if you include co-op and all the death match maps Rising Sun does offer several hours of gaming joy!
Pick this up for xmas!!!!!!!!!!!!! The gameplay isn't as good as Fronline but the sound and visuals are much better!
Carefully scripted, totally linear

I bought this when it was first released for the PS2. I had high expectations due to its predecessor, Medal of Honor Frontline. This game was a huge disappointment to say the least. You start out sleeping in a bunk below deck on a naval ship in Pearl Harbor. The Japanese attack, and you need to get to the top of the ship and fight them off while you escape. So, the beginning of this game is not too bad, and I was mildly interested in the gameplay. Then things went downhill. I can sum it up with one sentence: Before I knew what was happening, I was done with the game. Yes, that is right: this game is so short it is not even worth the $ price tag. I beat it in about 7 hours, and that includes taking bathroom breaks and eating meals.

If you want a good military shooter, try Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Medal of Honor Frontline. Medal of Honor Rising Sun is not worth the time it takes to get the shrinkwrap off.
The absolute worst shooter I have ever played!!!!!

This game was a big disapointment. It was almost exactly the same as medal of honor frontline. The only difference was the levels, which were even more boring then frontline's levels. The storyline is so stupid that I skiped the in game movies. If EA wants to make a good and different war game than I suggest they make a war game about either the revolutionary war or the civil war. Theres too many games about world war 2 or about "special forces" games. These games have died out years ago, and there still making them!

There was nothing wrong with frontline. IT WAS PERFECT!!! The campaign is terrible in rising sun. i beat it on the highest difficulty in 3 hours!! The only thing in this game that is even somewhat good is the multiplayer. Me and my friends can sit down and have some fun with it for about an hour. European Assault is gonna hafta be better for the franchise to continue.
Don't waste your time or your money

This game is a rip-off! Its unbelievably short: I beat the game in one afternoon. There are only a few levels and its WAY shorter than MOH Frontline.
This game is also incredibly unrealistic. I felt more like Rambo in this game than an American soldier. You kill the Japanese, move forward and get ammo, and keep killing. You don't have to conserve ammo, you don't have to worry about getting hit because theres always health right there.
The only part of the game I remotely enjoyed was the very first level where you have to shoot down some incoming planes. After that level, though, its all downhill. The levels are small and narrow. There is very little room for you to manuever.
This game is REALLY, REALLY short and REALLY, REALLY bad. I'm so thankful that I rented it instead of buying it. Don't get this game.
