What the hell was THIS CRAP? DON'T BUY THIS GAME!

Wow, just when you think videogame programmers can't get anymore lame...trash like THIS is made. Lets make something loud and clear in regards to this game.

It's STUPID!

Enemy A.I. : THERE IS NO A.I.! You can shoot at the Japanese soldiers from hundreds of yards away, and they'll just stand there and take it like morons. Looking around, and doing NOTHING. NEVER worry about losing this game, if you have a sniper rifle and alot of bullets because the limit of intelligence that is needed, is lining up the cross hairs to the enemies head while they sit there. Aim. And fire.

Graphics : Disgusting. These graphics are no where near as good as MOHFL. Why is it, that there is no blood in these games? Some deeper kind of appreciation or does it want to appeal to preteens who's parents won't get mad if theres no brain, or gut splatter? Lets be honest, war is ugly. If you're going to make a game on war, the ugliest details of war should be included. WHICH IS WHY THIS GAME SHOULD BE RATED FOR 17 AND OLDER. The graphics are 2D sprigs of bush that look absolutely fake, no realism. Quickly play through the first 3 levels of Allied Assault and kill some Nazi's. Then watch their movements as they die. THE JAPANESE MOVE AND DIE, AND SWAY TO THE GROUND IN THE EXACT SAME WAY.

Thats of course unless they don't decide to rush you with their bayonettes. Which was actually quite cool in this game.

The throwing of grenades leaves tiny "piffs" of explosions in which the enemy is never thrown back. They simply sway back and forth like they've been hit by a cartoon anvil...and then fall dead.

The only thing I liked (which never happened often) was when you shot their leg, and then their chest..and you got their bodies to flip back to the ground.

Another hint at realism. Why do these Japanese soldiers die, when you shoot their gun from around a corner? Has their weapon become a limb?

Storyline : Wow, well what can you say about this storyline? Oh yeah, thats right...there is none. After the first few minutes into this garbage...you realize that you need to be drugged on valium to enjoy this. You're basically told where to go...and then you do what it is you do best. Blow things up and shoot at moving targets that rarely shoot back.

Give me Halo A.I...this game blowed.

Historical Accuracy : Lets make sure everybody knows, that this game is completely fiction on most parts. Yet the "slang" used such as "Japs" was kept in the game. They want to make a game on realism, yet they have no blood or gore of any kind. They want a game on realism, yet they want you to believe that soldiers don't shoot back from far distances. These creators want REALISM in a game...in which they leave racial slang like "Japs" in...while completely forgetting specific events that brought about the war in the Pacific.

Why is it, that two, or three bullets in the very beginning of the game (Pearl Harbor) could take down enemy plains? Were the japanese flying in on paper kites? COME ON.

The entire beginning is scripted more like a cinematic movie...then any real game play.

I could go on and on, but I'm sure you think I've rambled enough. RENT this game. You can beat it in about 4 hours of non-stop play.

The ending leaves on a cliffhanger in which you know that theres going to be another MOH : Rising Sun to sort things out.

But after this crap, jungles which you can't explore. Predetermined paths...and nothing that makes you want to play this again.......I hate the series now

Medal of Honor "Setting Sun" STINKS!

Following the purchase of Frontline, I was excited to purchase Rising Sun. My elderly grandparents spent most of their hard-earned social security money on this game for me for Christmas. They spent $50 on this game for me. On Christmas morning, I tore open the wrapping paper, and was thrilled to find the two disks within the case of the game. "This is going to be great! There must be many missions if there are two disks," I thought to myself. Immediately, I began to play the game. The first mission, Pearl Harbor, was not only terrible, but also quite historically inacurate (one man did not shoot down 58 planes). Each mission got worse and worse. However, I continued to play this game, thinking that the missions would get better. I WAS DEAD WRONG. The last mission (of only 8), was horrible. After blowing up an aircraft carrier (which was quite unrealistic), I saw the credits roll by. "That was it?" I pondered. This was the worst game in the history of the entertainment industry. The greedy fools at E/A Games thought that they could trick kids into purchasing this game. The fat cats in charge of the company were probably sitting around in their million dollar offices and said "Let's create a cheap, short game, and sell it for $50. The kids are so dumb, they'll buy whatever garbage we produce. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!!! Also, if you didn't notice, all of the positive reviews of this game are the same. I believe the CEO of EA Games has written all of them.

any one who reviewed this game as better than frontline must work for EA games. Anyone who reviewed this game as hard is either 4 years old or only has 1 arm, if they do not fit into one of these categories should immediately give away their game system, this is the easiest FPS I've ever played. Even on Hard the Japanese are such bad shots you can run up to them from a hundred yards away while they are shooting at your and club them down with your rifle. If they happen to hit you once or twice don't worry, there is health about every 50 feet in this game. don't buy this game, bad plot, bad levels, too easy, too short.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS GAME IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, for the first five minutes. Very unrealistic very stupid and very boring. I beat this game in 1 hour. I have beaten it 13 times in 4 days on the hard level!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH it sucks!! I spent 35 dollars on it and it sucks!!
Your friends cant die unless it is a video. You can get hit 30 times and not die. Graphics suck. There is one level were you have to be stealthy and not get heard or youll get caught, well, I took out my loud gun and just started shooting all over and nobody came to fight me!! You dont need skill to beat this game. Dont waste your money buying, or renting, this game. Get SOCOM 1 or 2 instead if you want fighting. The story sucks and so does the diologe and graphics.

LAZY LAZY LAZY--only 9 missions for 50 bucks

i am a huge MOH fan - so i write this review with disappointment. first, i blew thru the entire game in 1/2 day and kept waiting for that 'awesome' mission that abounds so much in FRONTLINE: it never showed up. basically the people who make this game have taken the massive following for granted and either didn't put their best people on it or cut the resouces too much. specific comments are that enemies are too far away and it's like shooting at a spec of dirt and in a few cases - the available guns are completely inappropriate for the mission. in one - i had to get thru extreme hand-to-hand combat with only a slow-loading sniper rifle. others are that when guns reload, they obstruct your view and they changed the grenade throw - why? one good change is that u can save in the middle of the mission. basically, this game was not developed by MOH fans and spielberg should rip them a new one. i'll stick to FRONTLINE and hope the next one is better.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun was a huge disappointment. First of all, the graphics are horrible for a fps of its time. The graphics are actually worse than Frontline's! Not only do the graphics suck, but so does the AI and the gameplay.
The game was extremely linear. You are confined to only one direct approach for every mission: Run down the only (and most obvious) path and frag every mentally-challenged Jap in your way.(Think of this game as playing the first Mario Bros. except Mario is replaced by a GI with a gun. And goombas are Japs.) This game is for single-minded people who enjoy playing games which have no depth whatsoever.
The AI of this game is horrible. For example, one time I left Gunny behind, and he crossed paths with a Japanese soldier while trying to catch up with me. The Japanese soldier stabbed him with a bayonet about 50 times, but Gunny didn't care because he was so intent on getting to where I was. He just kept trying to run throught the Jap while he was getting stabbed.(Gunny never died either)
Another thing that irkes me is that EA made every single enemy have the same death animation. The guy that you clubbed with your pistol dies in the exact same fashion as the guy who recieved a direct hit from a bazooka or hand grenade.
I could go on an on about how bad this game is, but that would take a year at least. First person shooters are getting quite advanced these days, and Rising Sun just does not live up to the standards of other fps' like Halo or even the first half-life.
To sum it up, Rising Sun is a low budget, linear, boring game with no replay value. I feel bad for my uncle for going out and spending his time and money to get me this game for Christmas. Any person with an IQ of 5 could beat this game within a day.
