Not one to pass up a potential great game I was one of the first to get Devil May Cry 2. What I ended up with was, at best, a rushed sequel. There are three main flaws that hurt this game. While there are good points they don't help much to revive this (for the most part) incomplete game.

First of all is the level of difficulty, there is NONE! I beat this game overnight with out much joy haven done so. The Bosses are not much of a threat and all of your powers are given. Second, those abilities that you get don't have much of an effect on the strategy of the game. Finally, probably the biggest disappointment is the main character's attitude and style. It's as if Dante is a former ghost of himself. The flare of the opening sequence of the previous game is gone until the end of the game.

While these setbacks are annoying they don't destroy the game altogether. The graphics are top notch, one of the better looking games at its release. The ability to lock onto two targets and shoot straight down is a plus. (Even if aiming is difficult)There is a large amount of enemies to destroy with sword or guns. The second playable character offers a warm-up and a slightly different view of the games events.

DMC2 for any fan of the original is a great disappointment. You're better off renting DMC2 and buying another action game.

This game really shows intensity! The game is a favorite of mine i tried to get it when it came out hoping it would be even better. The game is but i didnt forfill my wih of getting it sooner. But this game needs a graphic upgrade in myopinion the blood Is my target mostly but who needs it the game has al the action needed when Ure bored or stuck in ure room starring at your PS2 my Idea of this game gets it a 4 Star rating I almost love it.

the game was good but,not really better than the first.it was a little to easy.i only died once in the game.but it is a must by for Dante fans.

This game is great when it comes to gameplay, graphics control and sound for a ps2 game. You could say that this game is almost perfect, except for the fact that their is one mistake. This mistake is huge. You could leave this game to a five year and he\she would beat it in about 5 hours. The gameplay is amazing but this game is so easy that you will cry your ... off at the end about how much of a rental this game should be. RENT IT its ot worth buying. UNLESS YOU GET THE USED PERSON FOR LESS MONEy

There is only 1 word to describe this game AWESOME!!!!! I beat it with both characters. I loved the first one and the second was a compliment of the first on. Some parts will make you want to play more and more. Its addictive, I played for hours and then some. And when you beat it in normal mode then you get level select to go back to your favorite missions, And you unlock a new outfit for the character provided by "DIESEL". If you beat the game with both characters you unlock the huge world of "Bloody Palace" where theres over 10,000 levels!!!!!!! This game is a gem. So go out and buy it while its still in stock.

Devil May Cry 2 almost does a great job improving upon the intensity and action of it's predecessor. The moves are much better and more fluid in DMC2. I also like the fact that this game has 2 disks ( one for each character )which gives you a broader scope of the storyline. Dante is just as tough as he every was and has great new weapons, but i do miss some of the old weapons from the previous DMC (i.e. the sparda, alastor,the ifrit gloves). Dante seems to lack the charisma he had in the original DMC, his persona much more rigid and serious. The new character is pretty cool, armed with and endless supply of darts and daggers. The enemies are pretty wild looking, the bloodgoats being my favorite. The only problem I have with this game is the 2nd to final boss villian, a conglomerate of 5 or so villians from the DMC series all lumped together in a big blob. That was a real pain to fight. outside of the final bosses I have to admit that this game is far easier than the first. As for the new female character, she's alot of fun with her throwing daggers and moves. But overall a fantastic game, storyline, and the theme music mixes in with the game real well too.

okie,i played the game with both characters and what i can tell about it is; its really fun. the gameplay is simply awesome compared to the first one. only one thing i dont like,the story wasnt all that entertaining at all...but with the great gameplay,i can look pass that! Dante looks as seksy as ever and Lucia is awesome....just wish they woulda said what happen to Trish..

This is one of the best action games out there right now. If youre looking for a long game with a good story then you should go elsewhere. This game is meant for people who want nothing more than hardcore action and fun. The moves and fighting system is much like the original DMC. DMC 2 However has added more characters, weapons, and moves not seen in the first game. The Bloody palace is aslo a great mode for gamers who think that a minute of plot every half hour of gameplaying is too much. It lets you got thru over 9999 levels of devil hunting without pause. This truly is a great game for action lovers.

I rented this, played for a few hours. It's not bad, but it's basically the same game I beat last year. Levels are pretty bland, none of the new moves Dante can do are very useful. It's more like a mission pack than a sequel.
