Good game, just can't keep up with the first

This is a pretty good game. I'll have to admit though, it was not as good as the first. Dante was still badass, but the game was short. The bosses were still pretty awsome aswell. I was a little dissopointed, because I knew Capcom was still capible of better. Not that this is a bad game, but I mean after playing Resident Evil 3, and then this, you know. So I still think this is worth buying, so go out and buy it.

Major fan of DMC 1, and was really excited to get this game with a friend, we would each pay twenty dollors, i was overjoyed when i saw it was now only twenty, i should have been suspicious...

What made DMC 1 was Dant'es cool whoopa** moves, i don't give a s*** dioluge, and the coolet demon hunter around, with an awsome storyline t boot, if tis was the first game it would have rocked, but it unfortunatley followed the first game so

Dante totally lost ALL his personality, and what did he do with the demon powers he inherited in the first game, he just threw out two of the most powerful demon accesories ever?

Then there was no STORY - whats that about and the lucia disk is the same exact as the Dante thing with minor differences, and she's a sucky characted, ultra sucky - maybe they combine GTA and DMC into a free exploration DMC game, as part RPG, that would rock

First, TEHERE IS NO STORY-LINE WHATSOEVER.
Second, it's camera work often makes you frustrated so that you can stick you Dual-shock controller up into the ceiling.
Third, the battle action is so dull, slow-paced, and reapeated until you get sick of it. (By all means, do not expect some cool, stylish sword actions from the first game.)

Need I say more?
...Nope. I think I made my point.

SUGGESTIONS: *DO NOT* BUY THIS GAME JUST YET. RENT IT FIRST. YOU WILL THANK ME DEARLY :)

Devil May Cry 2 ( Made by: CAPCOM ) is going to be a REALLY TOTAL AWESOME game to play on the Sony Playstation 2 game system

So you heard from the whining of the others, now listen to someone who hopes more games come out like this. I loved DMC, its still one of my favorite games, and DMC 2 is right there with it. Dante has more moves then Jackie Chan on speed, he is so awesome, the awesome combos you can do, way more than DMC, maybe thats why the badguys are easier, because Dante is just stronger and his awesomeness is doubled.
The story is alright, and now that youre not in the castle the whole game, you get to explore a more modern environment, with small homes, and huge skyscrapers. A few glitches dont ruin the game, like the fact that some of the badguys dont attack you sometimes, if you stand right in front of them. But thats only one badguy, and he still looks awesome.
One thing though, if youre hoping to like this new girl Lucia, dont bring your hopes up she is so boring, and she does almost the same things Dante does, excpet in a feminine way. But her ending movie is awesome, and her final boss is just a hard core as Dante.
The game does get harder when you raise difficulty, i mean the badguys have their own devil triggers, thats dangerous, and fun. So dont listen to the its to easy garbage, normal is easy, hard is normal, and must die mode is harder than DMC the first.
Buy the game thats all i gotta say, it is an awesome game, take it from someone who doesnt care what others say, give DMC 2 a chance, you wont regret it. Cant wait for DMC 3, and there will be a third, you want to know why, buy DMC 2 and you will know.

What happened? I'm still wondering what happened to Dante and the whole Devil May Cry 2 game. It shouldn't be an excuse just because it's a different team that made this game. DMC2 is a big step back from the first one and it's really inferior too. It's really sad that this game is not great. I wanted to like it but i just couldn't. So that should tell you something is wrong if you try hard to like a game especially as cool as the Devil May Cry franchise. All i gotta say is that go rent this first. You can beat this game in one day (both discs!). Your mom and you sister can probably beat this game. The boss and enemy battles are really boring and they don't do anything. You can basically just stand in the far corner and start releasing all your devil trigger and throwing weapons at them and they don't come up to you or turn around and shoot back. It's that simple. The graphics though are ok. Not as good as the first. And the camera angles are bad. Meaning you will have far away shots. Its not up close anymore. This almost looks like a platformer version of DMC. Weird. Oh and one of the worst part is that the weapons are so bland. The handguns for example is not called ebony and ivory anymore. Just handguns now. ANd when you pick it, it doesn't shoot out a few bullets like the cool thing they did on the first. Even if devil may cry 2 game out before devil may cry 1,it would still be a bad game and get the low scores it deserves. No replay value, way too easy, and far more inferior. This sucks!...
If you have some extra time do this. My friend and I did. We set up two tvs and of course two playstations side by side. One side had dmc1 and the other had dmc2. You will see dramatic difference. dmc1 has crisper larger and much fuller graphics, dmc2 has dark murky brownish and grayish blurry graphics. dmc1 has cool original and very quality characters, dmc2 has uninspired and very boring looking characters. seems rushed. you decide for yourself

This game is sweet I got it the first day it came out and man was I impressed the graphics are awesome and the gameplay is even better then the first in this Devil may cry Dante can run up walls and on walls and this one isn't to hard or to easy. On a scale of 1-10 this game gets a 9

Boring

DM2 is probably the worst, most boring, game for the PS2. Bassicly all you do is run down a level, shoot Identical monsters that have the AI of a dead goldfish, solve stupid puzzles that dont make sense, repeat until the credits roll. Although you have infinate ammo, which may sound like a good thing, is really stupid because you have two hand guns with the power of an AK-47. Your enemys can hardly touch you because you are "Too" fast, strong, and athletic. you are way too strong too have any fun. You can beat a level without a scratch on you. That may sound cool, but it's really boring. Another Part that Disturbed me is On the back of the box it says "Play as the
Bad-Ass Dante, Or the Sexy Lucia". Or something like that.
LUCIA ISN'T SEXY!!! She's about as "SEXY" As Kelly Osbourne. And thats all I have to say about that...

some of the bosses in the game are just lame...you fight a building..how lame is that...looks like somebody ran outta ideas...you also have to fight a retarded helicopter and some tanks...thing is they are infected...oh how scary is that...LAME
