We love our Wii Fit. Initially I wasn't very interested in getting one, it seemed like it wouldn't really provide much in the way of a workout. However, I was wrong and have been using this to augment other exercise routines.
Yoga and balance in particular were areas I didn't address in my regular routine, but the Wii Fit made those interesting and fun.
Great workout for the non-gym person

I am not a gym person. I get bored. But I love my Wii Fit because I wanted to incorporate some exercise into my life. First, it's fun. You start out with it taking your weight, balance and then you can choose from a lot of different types of exercises from yoga, strength, aerobics, etc. I like that I can as much or little as I feel like in a given day. There are some game-like things in here that are meant to improve your balance. The exercises range from pretty easy to a real workout. You can work with it to do as much or little as you'd like. You can pick a male or female trainer to work with. There's probably not a lot "new" here in terms of the exercises. The yoga moves, or strenth training are pretty much things I already know. But I like the way the board judges how well you're doing them. It knows if you're standing up straight, etc. I learned how off balanced I am. The cardio things are fun, there's a hula hoop workout and a running one that really gets my heart pumping. There's a lame step aerobic thing that's more like dance dance revolution. But the more you work with it, more activities unlock. I still have a lot still locked so I'm sure more fun stuff will come along. But overall, I think this is worth it, even if you only do it once in awhile. And the best part is that the scale has me about 3-4 pounds lower than I really am, so who can beat that!

The wife and I were very happy with our recent Wii purchase and quite content with the few games we had. "We don't need anymore," she always said. Then I saw WiiFit on the Nintendo Channel (Wii) and was floored. I had to have it. Couldn't get it online. Finally got it at a special invitation only shopping event at Best Buy. As of today, we've both completed two days of workouts, so there may be more to come.
My initial worries:
1) I have carpet, not hardwood
2) I have an old TV, not flatpanel
3) Does this thing take batteries?
4) I don't know Yoga
5) Is this gonna take 10 years to set up?
6) Will the wife like it?
So, right out of the box, I notice it comes with little adapter knobbies to add if you have "thick carpet." We don't have thick carpet, but oh well, let's throw them on anyway. So bam! And it works just fine. We're too chicken to see if it still works without the knobbies.
The TV issue. I will admit this still takes a bit to get used to. As a kid, there's some formula I remember about distance from the TV. It's really hard with this WiiFit. You're moving back and forth. Sometimes I was right on the thing. Maybe I need to mount something to the wall, to give me that extra two feet in my living room?
Batteries. I've noticed my Wii remotes suck batteries. The Wii Fit Balance Board takes 4 AA batteries. It comes with 4 batteries, which is a nice gift from Nintendo (also came with the Wii Remotes) and saved me from storming the junk drawer or performing operations on the various electronics of the house at 10PM. Only two days down, so no word on how much the balance board sucks up batteries.
I don't know Yoga. I prefer the strength training and aerobics. The run in place game is even fun. Yeah, it's run in place, but if you got a problem, the door is right there. This thing won't do everything for you. That's what "outside" is for. This is a great supplement to my daily requirement. And as one who does push-ups for a living, this thing is great because it can catch you cheating! Wow.
So yoga, yeah, it's not all yoga. But the yoga isn't bad. I tried it this morning, after I made sure every blind in the house was closed. Not bad, eh...
The set-up is really quick. It uses your established Miis and all you really need to know is how tall you are in feet and inches and what year you were born. If you're in a hurry, or have friends over, there are "trial profiles" that allow you to quickly try things out without all the slow paced build up of actually starting an individual program.
And she loves it. It's fun and she can beat me in many events, so of course she loves it. And if she loves it, all is happy in the home.
Whoopee!

This is a fun game - you can work up a sweat if you put forth the effort. The only drawback is the repetitive nature of the "encouragement" provided by the virtual trainers. After you've been working with the game for a couple of weeks, it is frustrating to wait for them to provide comments. I only use it when I don't have time to make it to the gym; I still prefer the gym for my cardio - I like to work little more intensively than the Wii Fit can accommodate. My husband and kids like it, too. It was worth the price!

I love Wii Fit! I teach and when I used to come home, I was so tired I did not want to "work out."
Now with this thing, I make the time and spend an hour and not even know it. It is fun and it does work. I have already lost some weight in just a week. I am five foot three and about 120 pounds, and I set a goal to lose 10 pounds. I am getting closer and I have never had so much fun working out (if you can call it that) in my life. There are so many choices and games too! You can pick Yoga, strengh training, balance games, or aerobic exerices. You also unlock more things as you progress. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!

My family received Wii Fit recently as a gift and we are all finding it to be lots of fun. The snowboarding game is pretty challenging and lots of fun. I wish that some of the exercises were a little bit more "hard core" and pushed us further because we could all stand to lose more weight. But, this product gets us up off of the couch and at least moving and burning some calories.
Perfect fit for me.

I am not an athlete. I don't enjoy jogging or running. I don't like the gym/club atmosphere. I DO like walking and doing fun exercise like dancing or yard work or throwing a football. However, it's way too hot here in the summer to do any of that after 7 a.m. most days. So I got the Wii Fit.
I like that you can choose from a bunch of different exercises including yoga poses, aerobic activities, strength exercises, or balance games. I usually start with some yoga to stretch, strength exercises, aerobics for 45 minutes, and finish with balance games or more yoga. I like the variety. It's also fun being able to "compete" with other family members. I also found that it's pretty accurate in measuring weight, too. Being able to see your weight and BMI and "wii fit age" and activity time tracked on a graph is a nice tool.
My favorite activities: rhythm boxing, step dance, snowboarding, and the hula hoop
Oh, and you can also unlock different exercises and more difficult versions of exercises the more you use the Wii Fit. That's kinda fun.
I am hoping they update the software to give the user the ability to design programs choosing workout time, activity duration and order, etc. and store that as a favorite workout.
Great for inactive computer nerds...like me!

Work, family, kids. It all adds up around the waist. The Wii Fit has given us the excuse to blow the dust off the old Wii and get fit! We've been using it now pretty steady (not daily, but working up to it) for a couple of weeks now and WOW! My calves are sooooore from the step aerobics mini-game. Running with a virtual partner is great at 5:30am when everyone else in the house is asleep. My other favorite is the hula-hoop! I am impressed not only by the fact that I'm not getting exercise, but also by the technology (as a nerd). Great job Nintendo!
Wii Fit an almost perfect way to get back in shape.

The Wii Fit is an excellent way to help you start to get back in shape. With the four catagories (Yoga, Strength, Balance and Arobic) to choose from you can keep a varied exercise program that will keep you coming back for more. My only complaint is that you can do a body test (gives you a Wii Fit age, your weight and your BMI), step off and do a second test and your weight can vary by (from my experience) 1 pound or more in either direction. But I have not missed a day in the 44 days I've owned mine. It has kept me interested in working out and caused me to begin using other exercise equipment to compliment their workout. It also keeps a history of your training, so you don't have to. I've found the Wii Fit to be an excellent investment.

When I saw the Nintendo 2007 E3 press conference and unveiling of Wii Fit, I was completely excited and knew that Nintendo had another hit on there hands. I didn't want to take any chances, so i reserved my copy of Wii Fit at a local Gamestop store as soon as possible, looks like it has paid off since the game has been out for over 2 months and its still the hardest game to find in stores. The balance board is what i mainly purchased the game for, I cannot wait to see what other functionality and upcoming games will do with the board, it has unlimited potential. Yes, Wii Fit will not replace the gym, but is a fun supplement to your routine. I bought the game on May 19, the day it came out and paid $89; in my honest opinion the game is not worth more than that, and really don't understand why people would be willing to pay up to $150.00 for Wii Fit. If you really got to have Wii Fit, I would wait until the hype has died down some, and pick up at retail.
