I love Wii Fit, so take all of the rest of this with that in mind. I think they made a couple of really big mistakes that keep this title from being everything it could.
First, the reliance on BMI. BMI is a terrible index of fitness, and anybody with any knowledge on the subject will tell you that. People are built differently, and people who are built larger will tend to have higher BMI values no matter how much fat they have. In addition, muscle tends to be much heavier than fat, so a muscular person will have a high BMI despite having very little body fat. Not taking those things into account results in a "Wii Fit Age" that has little to no relationship to a person's actual fitness. They could have simply relied on weight and/or people's assessment of their own body shape rather than taking a simplistic approach that will only serve to give people an inaccurate view of their own fitness.
Second, the fact that you have to click through menu after menu and wait while your trainer explains things you've heard a hundred times ensures that you cool down too much between exercises. I'd really like some sort of "playlist" function that allows me to organize a set of exercises and games into a full, uninterrupted workout. Without this simple feature, Wii Fit is nowhere near the workout it could be. I find that very frustrating.
I'd like to repeat that I really do enjoy Wii Fit, but its general high quality really serves to highlight the few inexplicable places where they completely screwed up.
Fun but not perfect

I've had wii fit for approximately 2 months now and have "played it" regularly. I think the peripheral itself is fantastic and i am very impressed by its sensitivity to slight weight shifts. With that said I have a few gripes about the game itself.
1. going through multiple exercises in one sitting is tedious b/c of the navigation. after each exercise u have to go thru multiple A presses to get into the next exercise. u end up spending 25% of the time navigating thru the game instead of actually exercising.
2. the game suggests combinations of yoga and strength training exercises that focus on certain areas but does not allow u to automatically navigate to them. so you have to remember which exercises it suggests, navigate out and find that exercise... this goes along with issue #1.
3. some of the activities are really "lame" IMO. these include: running, free step & walking the tightrope. I have no interest in replaying these...
Overall though, as a free game packaged with a great peripheral, it's much better than WiiPlay. The exercises are challenging and you will definitely work up a sweat (if you don't cheat). I just question how much I will be playing this since I've unlocked everything... but motivation to exercise is a separate problem...

I got this on pre order and am completely happy with it. The games are fun and I am an avid yoga practitioner and have enjoyed doing the Fit yoga routines. At first I kept thinking the directions were too long but now I just hit the A button to bypass them and it makes it much faster. I like that I can walk everyday and add it in to log my fitness routines and see progress happening. I too agree that weighing yourself everyday is a little counterproductive to weight loss goals since mine went up two pounds from the first day I weighed to the second but in the long run I think it will be good to see the progress in such small increments. The fit is fun, practical and worthy of both beginner and advanced fitness goals. It gives more positive feedback than any other video based fitness routines and helps you keep your form while doing activities.
Wii Fit . . . actually fun to exercise! :)

My husband and teenage kids and I are having a great time with this game. My husband and I can actually feel the burn, the kids just think it is fun, so far. We have unlocked lots of the activities and have found them very entertaining as well as challenging. I really like the yoga and tne balance games. The really cool part is the graphing and tracking of my weight. Just step on the balance board every day to keep yourself on track with weight and exercise each morning. I recommend it for fun for all ages and good exercise especially for those of us who have tended to be slightly sedentary. :)
In love with wii fit

I have to say i really hesitated on this product even though the reviews were great. I pre-ordered my wii fit from amazon because it looked fun..i didnt even have a wii system..yes i bought the cart before the horse!..I totally forgot i pre-ordered the fit until i found it on my doorstep. I then took a shot on Amazon having the wii system...i was at the right place at the right time!..When i got the wii the set up was a breeze, then i played wii sports for awhile and had a blast..i waited til the whole family was out of the house to set up my wii fit so i could have my weigh in privacy lol. This thing is fantastic..Im pretty fit..and hesitated opening the box because im a runner, i strength train and wasnt sure it was for me..well was i wrong..i am having so much fun with this..you can increase intensity on the aerobic activities by putting more energy into it. I like the yoga because the board measures your balance something you dont get with a regular yoga dvd. I agree with another poster on the fact that i wish it would allow a smoother run between segments, but boy i find im competative even with myself and before i know it im an hour on it trying to beat my own scores. I think it is a fantastic piece of technology and hope this is just the beginning .

I work full-time, I have two small kids, and what I don't have is time to go to the gym. My husband convinced me to get this and I got lucky and got one on a day they were in stock. I now can work out after my kids are in bed, and I am getting a great workout! Try hula hooping for even 10 minutes and you will be sweating, but having fun doing it. Over a few days, I have gained balance, and endurance. My husband and I love competing with each other to get our score in the number one slot. My 5 year old, who we can barely get to put a book down and get some physical activity, loves to jog with this and do the balance games like skiing, and rolling his bubble down the river. The only restriction it has, is that basically it is a one person game, with a few exceptions, unlike Wii sports where you can play all the games against someone else if you choose to. I would highly recommend this, especially to people who want to be active but aren't prone to go to the gym, or outside if the weather isn't ideal! This is a good alternative and it is great fun.

This is a lot of fun. Some of the games are really challenging, and you earn new levels and exercises quickly. You can get a good workout in 30-40 minutes, and you get lots of positive feedback. It would be nice to have more aerobics exercises; there is just hula, step, running and boxing.

I got the last one from Costco today and I already love it. I have been a nintendo fan since my youth and the wii system (and this "game") has evolved with me. This is definitely a great system for both kids and adults alike. I like Wii Fit for all the different activities it has and for its tracking ability. If you can find one - get it!

After reading the reviews saying buy this for yourself, I have to disagree. My family of four including a six year old and a 12 year old are fighting over it. My six year old finds certain portions of it such as ski jumps and balance games fun. He is so excited as he bests his last trials of the game. My 12 year old also loves the game and picks a variety of games to do from all four areas. Nintendo created a winner that parents will feel comfortable having their children play and also enjoy it for themselves.Nintendo Wii System Wii Fit (NINTENDO WII SYSTEM IS SOLD SEPERATELY)(NINTENDO WII SYSTEM NOT INCLUDED)

My wife insisted we purchase the Wii over other game consoles. We've bought several games and decided to try the Wii Fit. My wife uses it more than I, but it is truly fun and gets you off the couch and moving.
