I can't believe somebody finally made exercise fun. First, I have had my Wii fit since it was made available. I have spent thousands on equipment in the past only to have it set and collect dust. This isn't and it won't. I am limited physically having had several spine surgeries so there is only so much I can do. But I love this game and there are several exercises on it that I can do without fear of damaging my spine and I can see as time goes by that it may even help strengthen it. All I can say is "WOW." What a great idea. Wish I had thought of it. LOL BTW, it is brutally honest about weight and BMI. No way to sugar coat it. It keeps perfect track of your progress. Encourages you to do more. I am happy I spent the $[...].
Great but could use improvements

I finally got a Wii Fit. I have been using it for about 2 and a half weeks now. I really enjoy it. It is great to have a "trainer" show me how to do new exercises. The yoga and strength training exercises are challenging but after just this short time, I am getting better balance and flexibility. The aerobics games are good too. I really enjoy the rhythm boxing. The balance games are a mix. I like the ski jump but I think the penguin game is kinda lame.
Overall I enjoy it and recommend it. However, I do think there is one major issue that keeps this from being a 5 star product. You can't set up your own routine. You can do a yoga or strength exercise but you have to stop at the end of that one exercise and then choose to redo it or try another. It would be nice if you could string several exercises together and just hit start so you can do your routine without having to manually choose each exercise at the end of the last one.
Wii Fit is a good game for getting exercise and it definately shows the potential of the balance board. Hopefully future exercise based games will pick up where Wii Fit falls short. I still do recommend it though.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical of Wii Fit when I first heard of it. But after spending several hours with the game, I have to say I am completely blown away. The exercises are fun and challenging and will definitely keep you in shape if done regularly. The balance board is an excellent piece of hardware and I am very excited to hear about future games that will utilize it. It's great fun alone and a blast with friends. If you own a Wii, you definitely should give Wii Fit a shot. In fact, even if you don't own a Wii, you should get one just to experience this game, not to mention Wii Sports, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Boom Blox, Zelda, and the list goes on...) Nintendo has really outdone themselves this time and proven once again that they are the true innovators in the world of video games.
A blast!

We are having a blast with the Wii Fit.
It is a fun way to get some exercise and track your progress.
You can do it any time of the day and not have to step out of your livingroom, which is great if you have little ones ... and they love it too!
Could be the future??

Well, everyone wants to try it!! How intelligent for them to think of this. It's like a game so it is enticing but wow! It's for real goodness!! When the kids are away, sneak in a workout and feel glad that you did. The only thing better would be for it to have the ability to continually upgrade in the future. Are you listening Nintendo?? You've got something good, keep it up!

This game was why we bought the Wii in the first place. We are almost 60 and for us it looked like the perfect way to have fun, be safe, enjoy the gaming and get healthy. It is a lot of fun. You should have seen our 18 yo after coming home from HS baseball game - he was doing the Hula Hoop in the Aerobics section. Never had it in real life - but we split a gut watching him wiggle his hips! Funny! Then he tried to be the soccer goalie - and had so many other items hit him in the chops - very, very funny. It will be a classic party game! for sure!

I am now officially addicted to my Wii Fit and I hate the gym and can't stand exercising. I love the fact that it counts how much time I spend on it, because I'm just having fun and playing games and the next thing I know, my posture is improved and I'm feeling stronger and fitter.
I love this thing. I've always wanted to do a little yoga, but who wants to buy all that yoga gear and drive to a gym? I have my own little yoga instructor and I'm really amazed at how the interactive nature of the balance board allows the television to monitor my posture and balance so that I can adjust my position to the correct form. My 21 year old daughter and I are really enjoying the Wii Fit and the pre-order was the best thing I've done in years!
My one critique is the use of the BMI. My husband is thin, fitter than anyone, and muscular. It told him he was overweight because it does not take into account the muscle mass. He's in better shape than all of us and he's the only one with a fat little Mii representing him! (Course this keeps him off the game, which works to my advantage!) I've never experienced more fun getting fit and I'm loving how many games and options there are to do so. Truly a remarkable and wonderful product!
Everything I wanted it to be!

my whole family LOVES the Wii Fit. It is so much fun and terrific for helping the little ones (age 5+) learn to control their bodies. I am 42 and LOVE that it is physical and fun and I just want to keep playing.
Nintendo has broken out of the box and this mother of two thinks that the Wii and the Wii Fit falls under a new category of video game. If you can get one, buy it. You will not be disappointed.

I have been waiting a long time for the Wii Fit to make it to the USA, and I can say I am not disappointed! The game has a Brain Age style to it, and the feedback it gives can be quite interesting. (I'm not sure I like being told I have the body of a 40 year old when I'm only 31, but meh...) Just like Brain Age gives you an age to work on lowering, so too does the Wii Fit. Out of the activities I participated in, the hula game had to be my favorite. It is hilarious to be wiggling your hips to keep up a virtual hula hoop, while other Miis toss more and more of them at you to catch.
I gave it four stars because I think some of the strength exercises are best done if you have seen them before. The explanations are ok, but to get really good form, it would probably be good to have a session or two with a real human trainer.

If you're the casual health conscious consumer wanting to loose a few pounds, don't waist your hard earned money on a treadmill or excercise bike you'll eventually get tired of. Instead, invest $[...] in Wii Fit and actually have fun working out. No, you won't get the same results you would going to the gym and lifting weights. But you will sweat, you will get sore, and yes you will loose a few pounds if you use it daily.
