Not perfect but still cool

Its nice to have video interactions that don't make you fatter. My only complaint is the your BMI on the game is calculated solely on height and weight. This works well for anyone under 12 but as muscle weighs more than fat the measurements become faulty. As I excercise more the game keeps telling me I am getting fatter becuse my weight is increasing but my overall percentage of body fat is decreasing. All and all its still worth having.

Lost 8 lbs in one month!

This is great so far! I've used the Wii Fit 3 times a week for a half hour or more at a time since purchasing and I've lost eight pounds (3 Weeks). I do not do any other work outs just this. When I first got it I weighed 240 now I'm down to 232. Still fat but my pants are starting to fit better.

This game has lots of workouts and is easy to use. You'll need rechargable batteries of course and the board can be hard on your feet after a while so I just put a small towel on it. I tried one of the clear silicone covers and it tor as I put it on the Wii Fit for the first time, maybe you will have better luck.

Your workouts are split into 4 catagories: Yoga, Strength, Arobic, and balance games. Each section starts you off easy and lets you build your way up to mre difficult tasks. The Marble game is lots of fun and brings back memories of marble madness for the nes. The Super hoola hoop kills me every time and my wife cry's laughing every time.

They could of made the running game better and just made the game bigger with more to do. It sometimes feels incomplete like nintendo could have done more with this and hopefully they do. I'd love to see wii fit 2

My family and I have had a bunch of fun with the Wii Fit. It is a great addition to the system. The graphics are cute and not meant to be realistic. Hints were easy to find online.

Getting up to exercise and loving it.

I used to be a gym rat and then I became a mom. That was an unfortunate too-many pounds ago. Wii fit has been a fun way to break a sweat again!!! Very glad I grabbed this!

Great game, needs some kid-specific options

I started using the wii fit a week ago. The yoga is actually fairly realistic - and for what I'm doing, the specific feedback based on my movements is very precise and immediately applicable. It is like working with personal trainer - one who seems oddly deaf and somewhat out of touch, and prefers a really bland gym, however. After the yoga exercises, I got an analysis that right away picked up on some core instability I have related to a former back injury. I've been doing yoga long enough that sometimes with a live trainer, I can hide that flaw that but there was no hiding from the wii. Just to see if it was giving generic feedback, I had the kids do the yoga too and it analyzed different things for them (and has a sense of humor - "You seem to have trouble with balance. Do you trip when you walk?") Even my child who is a reluctant reader is happy to puzzle out the words on screen in order to get to the activities. Given the fact that we're experiencing 100-year rains locally and play-outside time is limited, this has been a wonderful indoor activity. Additionally, the games are a lot of fun. The wii fit also does a nice job of integrating other user's Miis into the games so that even a user who is not currently playing can see his or her Mii on screen and feel engaged.

The only criticism I have is substantial but not a barrier to use. The single fitness goal they offer for a user is to set and track weight change. Nintendo needs to provide additional goal options, especially for kids, such as to improve balance or posture.

The wii fit will calculate a user's 'wii age' which has provided some strange values for a child. It is confusing for the kids - the wii said to my 6 year old son 'you are weaker than you should be' after he scored a 13 in his real age. I would think that for someone under X age should not have a wii age calculated. Note that he is 3'10" and 45.6 lbs, has a purple belt in Tae Kwon Do, and recently ran a 5k race and finished 3rd in his age group. I checked with the US CDC's growth charts, and his weight and age put him in the 75th height and 25th weight percentile. As another example, my 8-year-old son is pretty amused by the fact that his wii age has been variously calculated as 17, 41, and 23 on different days. So now he jokes with me that the wii says he is old enough to drive.

If the feedback for children isn't accurate, there should be some way to disable it. I wrote to Nintendo's customer service 4 days ago regarding this, but have received no response.

As a parent, I would strongly advise against having any children with eating disorders or body image issues from using the wii fit until Nintendo can correct the feedback it provides to children, or include a function that permits a parent to disable such feedback.

Good investment

Game is fun - can keep track of exercising. Some of the comments made by the fitness "instructor" or the animated Wii board could be more positive, especially when you dont do so well. Variety of ways to mix up your workout. If you do any one exercise to music too many times the song does stick in your head but I guess that's what they want.

Overall, everyone using it is enjoying it.

No Wonder Why Wii Fit is Sold Out Everywhere!

I do not know why I waited so long to get a Wii Fit. I had the chance to get it early and on a discount from Amazon but I procrastinate. It took us 2 weeks just to find one because they are all sold out. They are selling them twice as much from 3rd party sellers at Amazon.

Nintendo has did it again. They made exercising so much fun. The equipment itself is so well thought. It looks very solid. It is beautiful with very simplistic design. For 89$, it is really a deal. That includes the main board, Wii Fit disc software, batteries, manual and 4 foot extensions if you have a thick carpet.

You can make your goals of much poundage you want lose in a certain period of time, then Wii Fit takes care of all the monitoring for you. There are four types of exercises: aerobics, balance, strength training, and yoga. You'll be assigned your own electronic personal trainer. Surprisingly enough, the trainer is also very knowledgeable and very willing to share his or her wisdom in physical training. Do not expect it to be the same as going to a gym. Be realistic, it won't be the same as paying somebody to train you and use all the gym equipments. Nevertheless, I have never sweat so much on a video game other than Wii Sports boxing.

You can do running as if you are doing it outside of your home. Along the way you'll meet people you know (Mii's you have created) like friends & family members, dogs, waterfalls, and characters like Mario, Luigi, etc. There is a game that is similar to "Monkey Ball" except you are doing it with your whole body instead of a handheld controller. You will have fun too doing skiing, hula-hoops, tightrope walking...

The whole family is happy and having so much fun.

Great way to get started into regular excercise

I got this for my daughter and myself, both of us have become couch potatoes. I don't have the time to go to a gym, nor the money to hire a personal trainer to come to me. Granted this isn't high intensity, nor compares to either of the above, but for those of us looking to get back into regular excercise, this is the ticket. It starts you off slow, or as easy as you need to and as you build up time and strength (and figure out how to make certain parts work), it adds more games and difficulty levels. My pre-teen daughter has taken it on as a challenge to beat any records I may have above her,so it does get her into a competitive mode. It would be nice to have a second board, waiting for them to come out with that without the disc, since not needed. I agree that you can fine tune a work out to get good excercise program in 35 to 45 minutes. I actually start and end with a few yoga sessions to stretch and cool down. I was amazed at the hula hoop one at how much of a work out you actually get. The daily tests are interesting too. Odd to find out that "balance wasn't my forte", didn't know I had a center of balance issue. Buy it and enjoy getting back into fun exercise-reduce the couch potatoe.

Fun and fitness for the whole family

How do I love Wii fit? Let me count the ways! I love it that on 90 degree + days my kids (3, 6, 9) can play Wii fit indoors and get some exercise. I'm hoping that it will help my sedentary husband become more active--I think it will, as he is a bit competitive. It won't take the place of my more intense cardio workouts, but I can use it for moderate exercise and some of my strength training (I do a combo of intense cardio, strength training and moderate exercise for a combined total of at least 4-5 hours per week). Plus it's fun. If you enjoy Wii sports, you'll really like wii fit. I love the Wii for it's games that incorporate movement, and this game takes movement games to a new level. I haven't unlocked everything yet (my 9 year old is way ahead of me in that regard) but I really enjoy the activities. Our family favorites are the ski jump and the running. It's so strange to think that running in place in our living room is so entertaining--but it is (and even the 3 year old can do that one). I'm hoping that the yoga and balance exercises will help my posture, balance, and flexibility as these are areas that I need to improve on.
Another wii winner!
