Having fun with exercise? Who would have thought?

OK, I work in an office environment and look like it. I'm not good a video games, and I come home too tired to work out after work. I would not have thought that this would be a good fit for me. (Get it - FIT? Sorry - that was a little lame, but I couldn't help it.)
But it fits just fine! This isn't exercise - it's play! I get a little sweaty, but I end up more relaxed at the end of it. There are a whole lot of different things to do. I like the yoga and the step. I'm not good a the strength training, but I'm working on it. I love the balance games, especially the downhill skiing and jumping. My husband plays as well, and I'm actually ahead of him on a couple of things.
Just so you know, you pick out your little Mii, and then you get on the balance board and it weighs you. If you're a little chubby (like me) your Mii also gets a little chubby. I'm hoping my Mii slims down. And gets younger. The balance board takes into account your balance, weight, and age and gives you a Mii age. So far, my Mii is 5 years younger than I am. Good little Mii.
This is my favorite of the Wii "games". We also have the Wii Ski, which my husband loves. I haven't played it yet, but it looks like fun. Nintendo needs to put out some more games for the balance board. Skateboarding anyone? Water skiing?

I have been using Wii Fit now for almost a month and have used it every day and it is so addictive and I feel it's very healthy, too! I would highly recommend the Wii Fit for anyone who is health-conscious and wants to improve their physical condition.

I am retired and bought the Wii Fit for exercise and it is great. My greatest concern was that it would become old hat after awhile, I would get bored with it and stop using it but that hasn't happened. It has a yoga program, a strength training program, balance exercises/games, and aerobic workouts. There is a variety in each of these so you can alternate your routine to keep it interesting and you're bound to find some options in each segment that you really enjoy.

Although I love to get outside and exercise by running, hiking, biking... this is a great way to get a little sweat going during the rainy days of the week, or when it's too dark outside. It is also a fun way to encourage my non-outdoorsy friends to stay in shape. With the multiple levels of activities, I'm happy to say that I can also break a sweat. Definitely worth the expense!

I haven't exercised since a back injury 4 years ago. I have been using Wii Fit for three weeks now. The yoga has helped stretch my back and neck. I am exercising every day. This being a video game helps motivate me to continue and to get better at the exercises.
This is the type of training module I would expect in a gym, so it is great to have at home. I need a trainer to show me the specific movements. I don't know what exercises to do by myself. This shows me.
So this is great for the physically illiterate. It could be a great tool in additional to regular workouts for normal gym-goers.
Highly recommneded. The balance games are fun.

We have had this for only a few days but already we are "running" together and taking turns to do push-ups. Yes right now the whole game is novelty but the concept is fantastic. The balance board is very touchy and I would recomend you wear tennis shoes as it helps you balance. You can't do a lunge wrong because the board will show you exactly where your center of balance is and where it should be. So, it really makes it hard to cheat on exercises. There is a tremendous amount of variety from running on the sand to hula hooping to yoga. I am a teacher and this is very convenient to do what I want, when I want. The only problem is the wii's frame of reference when it comes to weight. It does not know that you may be most muscle and claims you are overweight. It only takes in your weight and height. It says that most people are overweight and that is tough to swollow but, once we all got past that, we were all ready to play. The comments from the Wii trainer are monotonous at best but we overlook it and make fun of it to make it bearable in our house. It is not meant to replace your already planned workouts but this is great fun. I recommend it highly.
Great start, but can get old fast

I really like this product. I got it for my husband's birthday, and it was fun to have each of us in the family take the fitness test. Unfortunately, I'm the only one using it at the moment. I have done yoga in the past, and like the yoga option, but it gets tedious since you have to select each pose. It would be nice to be able to string poses together to make custom yoga workouts. Ditto for strength training. I love the balance games, and even if that is all you use it for you are bound to be helping yourself in the long run. The aerobics is a little lame, but if you aren't that active it is good. Again, it would be nice to customize and vary your routine. You can also do some of them while you watch TV, and listen to the Wiimote tell you what to do. My favorite is the monitoring of your weight and balance. Even if you do other things to work out and are watching what you eat, you can use that part as a tool to track how you are doing. Overall, I like this product, but I hope they come out with more options to customize to help those that use it regularly.
Also, it is annoying that Wii is never in stock. What's up with that?
GREAT!
