As good as this game is, it costs $89.99 and not $150 as it's listed here.
The reason for the outrageous markup is the fact that greedy people buy them at their local store for the purpose of making a quick buck by reselling them online.
Do yourself a favor and find one from an actual retailer who doesn't markup the price by 67%.

Go to wiialerts.com and set up a profile ... it only took me 3 days to purchase this item and I paid RETAIL PRICE. I hope all of the people who buy this item to rip off their fellow citizens end up eating their wii fits - not sure how good they taste! I cannot believe that anyone is so money-hungry as to up-charge by two times what they paid. My kids have been playing since the unit was set up 1st day. Almost can't get them to stop ... and they need to have some excercise. This is perfect!
SO FUN!!!! Makes working out something to look forward too

I love this!!! Should have bought it sooner but i was skeptical. When I first got this i started using it right away. I've been using it for about 2hrs and i didnt even notice how long i've been using it. THe stars that that you get at the end of each workout, motivated me more and more to do better each time. I've been using it for a month and lost 6 lbs already. THats alot for me. IT also graphs your weight so it also motivates you not to make it go up.
Good as an introduction

Wii Fit, like all Nintendo Wii (and DS) products, is polished and immaculately presented. Its very approachable and friendly. The Balance Board is a tremendous piece of kit - rock solid and absolutely excellent at what its supposed to do.
As a product dedicated to fitness, though, its pretty lacking. Now, don't get me wrong - it is far better than doing nothing (what I am used to doing), and actually has some nice perks to keep you going (like score tracking and an unlock mechanic). But it doesn't let you customize a workout, and progression advice is minimal. It literally just lets you do whatever activities at any time. Now, I could go to the gym and do exactly the same thing, but I still would want to get some advice from someone or something. Wii Fit doesn't do it!
Another problem is that between activities, you have to stop and navigate menus. It'd be much better if there was a flowchart like menu for setting up workouts so you can go one after the other, keeping the heart rate up. This is a very serious deficiency and I wonder why Nintendo didn't put it in.
All in all, as an introduction to fitness, its pretty good, and at $90 its really pretty affordable if you have a Wii already. but I really hope some other company comes out with a good fitness videogame using the balance board, with more workout and eating tips. That would really be a great thing.
What the Wii Fit is and isn't

Overall, the Wii Fit is an impressive piece of equipment. The board is highly sensitive to balance shifts and bigger than I have expected. Well worth the money in my opinion. The games are fun to play, and the banter from it is humorous at times. Before you decide to buy, you should definitely know what the Wii Fit is and isn't.
What it isn't:
1. A substitute for your gym membership or outdoor exercise.
Nothing here is hard enough to substitute for a good cardio workout. The cardio exercises will keep you busy for a few minutes, but nothing will get your heart rate up for the recommended 45 minutes.
2. A substitute for your bathroom scale
Everything I've read on the Wii Fit says that the most accurate weight measurement requires the footpads if you are on carpet. Even with them, it measures me about 5 lbs light. It's not going to replace your scale for a very accurate weight measurement if you have it on carpet. However, it may make you happy that it thinks you're lighter in the living room than in the bathroom. :)
3. A Bug-free piece of software
The most annoying this I've found about the Wii fit is that about half the strength exercises have their left and right sides confused. The Wii asks you to stand on your right leg, but it really means your left. Bad QA Nintendo.
What it is:
1. A great supplement to the gym
I do the Wii Fit for 20 minutes or so every day after my gym workout. It's a great way to get some extra exercises in in a fun way. The balance exercises are hard to do in a gym and this is a great way to work on that fine muscle control and has really helped me tone up specific areas.
2. A great way to go from couch to doing something
The Wii Fit is so interesting and fun, it has gotten members of my family off the couch who aren't regular gym goers. It lets you compete against family members in all the exercises and games, so everything is a competition between Miis. It's fun for the whole family and certainly any exercise is better than none. Most of the exercises and games are easy to learn and fun to do.
3. A great way to work on yoga and other balance exercises
If you're not a yoga expert and have even thought about it, this game is great. The explanations of how to do all the yoga exercises is great, and has really gotten me into it. The balance board monitors your center of balance to be sure you are doing all the exercises right. The balance games are fun, though a bit confusing at first. Eventually you get the hang of it and it's challenging and fun.
4. A great addition to your Wii games
I highly recommend this, despite the minor flaws.
I can think of a lot of great enhancements for the Wii Fit. I'm looking forward to more types of exercises, fixes for the bugs, options to skip the banter to get to exercises faster, better menu usability, and a two player option. Looking forward to Wii Fit 2!

The Wii Fit is nice I love it as a matter of fact. The morning after I got it I heard people Wining about how their kids were traumatized... I fault the parents. It is what it is. If you are not fit are just not fit. this is the whole purpose for the system. We are in denial of our fit factor. We are the most unfit, unhealthy nation. & people have the nerve to get mad because Suddenly we are faced with the fact that we can no longer tell our kids lies about being big boned & such as that...
GET OVER IT, GET FAB GET FIT... if you don't want fat kids Help them & help yourself. You can't expect the world to lie to your kids like you do. Make the best of it.
Great for adults, NOT at all for kids!!!

The Wii fit is amazing and my wife and I love it so far. That was until we had our kids step on and create a profile. My seven year old son is very muscular is only 48" tall, weighs 57 pounds with no fat on him at all. When the Fit rated him as OVERWEIGHT we had to spend the rest of the night consoling him. I am concerned at the negative body image that this stupid appliance gave him. Please for your own sake do not create a profile for your children. Or at the least read the part in the manual that talks about children and how muscle mass relates to a higher BMI. This will give you a chance to talk to your children prior to them getting on. I found it funny when my Mii changed size on the screen, but that is not cool for children. We risk setting our children up for eating disorders.
All that being said, I enjoy the board and have so far only played the games, which are a blast.
Fun, but not a workout

To keep it short - this is more for fun than anything else.
I really enjoyed the yoga section. I use it from time to time for a quick relaxer. The rest of the sections are fun every once in a while, but I really don't do them anymore.
I also really like the weight/BMI tracker.
While it's great for what it is, there are 3 major limitations:
1) The content is limited. There are only ~50 (roughly) different activities. Would have liked more or at least downloadable content in the future, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
2) After one of the short workouts, you have to go back to the main menu EVERY time to select your next workout. I would like to string the workouts together (random and/or selected). I don't want to cool down between activities as this reduces the workout.
3) Not a big deal at all but worth mentioning - being able to share you scores online with other users would have been nice.
Despite the negatives - it's very fun but wears off quick and doesn't really help you lose weight.
The balance board will have it's uses for other games as well, which will be interesting.
It's fun, but let me say this..................

Ok, I like the exercises and the games, I use it as a warm up before I go for a run now in days. Just dont take the BMI too serious. It does not have a way to measure fat.....so Iam 6'0 197 pounds. Iam Lanky, Iam a track and field runner for crying out loud. And it says Iam overweight. I can't be any healthier. Buy any hoot, I like what on reviewer said that this is not really for kids....but iam sure there will be games in the future more for kids. But unless your kid really has a weight problem, and you can't seem to get them off the couch....by all means. It would be a good start for them. But active video game master kids, might not find it that fun. ADULTS: This could be a good start and motivator for you too. (Those of you who are looking to start exercising.) They give you great info and advice. And like I said I am a track runner, I also personal train.
So point blank........If you are a workout warrior, it may bore you. If you are looking to get started, and you don't want to do the gym thing, want to do something a little different, click the buy button.

This is totally fun. My husband was able to make my "Mii" look just like me! It's a riot, fun and challenging too! It makes the prospect of exercise both entertaining, challenging and worthwhile! It's the best as far as I'm concerned!
