This is one of the best action games out there right now. If youre looking for a long game with a good story then you should go elsewhere. This game is meant for people who want nothing more than hardcore action and fun. The moves and fighting system is much like the original DMC. DMC 2 However has added more characters, weapons, and moves not seen in the first game. The Bloody palace is aslo a great mode for gamers who think that a minute of plot every half hour of gameplaying is too much. It lets you got thru over 9999 levels of devil hunting without pause. This truly is a great game for action lovers.

I rented this, played for a few hours. It's not bad, but it's basically the same game I beat last year. Levels are pretty bland, none of the new moves Dante can do are very useful. It's more like a mission pack than a sequel.

Oh my, just got DMC 2 and WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!! This game rules !!!!!!!!! The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is awsome, they finnaly fixed the camera angles in this one, and the running around and matrix style moves are wonderful. Capcom knows how to make a game !!! I am 2 levels away from beating the first one, but dont know if I will get back to it after trying out DMC 2. This game was worth every penny, and rushing out to Blockbuster to get it. I think the XBOX has finnaly met its match, you can have HALO (yawn) this game rocks. Buy it, alot of replay value. Worth every penny. Thanks CAPCOM.

this game adjusts to your ability as a player makes the initail game very easy and take little time. i was under the impression of it would adjust and give challenge, but no. DMC1 was a hit and took time and skill, while this claimed to take twice the time and be one of the best games ever..... everone has bashed it, and acutally had due cause, if you have played DMC1 don't play this, if you are yet to play any of the series start with this so that DMC1 is better

the first devil may cry was really cool. when i heard about the second game, i hoped it would be good as the first; i was very happy with my purchase. this game seemed smoother than than the first one. there is a large variety of enemies, and the environments are huge. these huge environments are vast but has very bland textures, which is not so bad, they still pull off making everything very nice. the action is all there and then some. dante and lucia have numerous stylish moves you can do to impress all your friends that watch you play this game.
the only thing i really complaining about is the story, it just didn't have the feel as the original. dante as the character seems wooden compared to his boastful and very animated original self. he just didn't seem that charismatic like in the first one. he got the moves, but his attitude is not all there. the game also seemed really short and easy, especially lucia's disk.
other than that, everything else is pretty damn good.

It's the shizzy, and everyone knows it. There were some points about the first one that were HORRIBLE. HOWEVER, Capcom has managed to fix it, as usual. I just wish Capcom could be like Squaresoft and get it right the first time, EVERY time!

well, this game was ok. It didn't quite live up to the hype that it recieved and wasn't as good as i expected it to be. The moves aren't as cool, there aren't as many weapons, and the items become so expensive that you just can't buy them once you need them later in the game. The graphics are great though, and the new enemies are awesome. There are more bosses and they aren't impossible to kill (always a plus) and there is even a brief appearance by phantom (the magma spider from DMC). Now on to the characters. Dante is his usual b@d@ss self and his moves (though more limited than the last one) are very cool to watch (especially the matrix style wall run). Lucia, on the other hand is just bad[]. She is essentially a much weaker, far less cool version of dante with an even shorter game than dante's ludicrously short playthrough. Now for my main problem: Plot. Yes, that's right, i'm one of those whackos who needs a good plot before i can enjoy a game. this one is weak, and set up seemingly halfway through (i have no idea where lucia even came from, much less what the hell she has to do with dante). to sum up all this crazed ranting: gameplay:good (with dante, anyways) plot: bad.

this game would awesome if it was made by the same team that made the original (resident evil team) DMC. the storys messed up, lucia's voice is a wierd foriegn accent, trish isnt in the story line, he doesnt get the ultra cool alastor found in the first one, and the end battle you dont get to change into his sparda form. besides that its pretty good.

Devil May Cry 2 was the game everyone was waiting for......but after its release it suddenly became the dissapointment of the year.

I got it 2 days after its release and was pretty happy with it. I really didnt see how everyone can write so horribly about it on gamespot.com. Many game reviewing websites gave it a 6 out of 10.

Pros: Playing with Dante is the ultimate expeience. His attitude wasnt displayed much in the second game but it still showed. A new plyable character, Lucia, spiced things up a well. All the different combos with swords and guns are great! The jumping off walls and midair combat kept the game fun.The amulets gives different devil trigger abilities---which i believe is the best part of the game.

Cons: Graphically the game is pretty good...but it did look like a bit of rush job on capcom's part. The levels are bigger in this game but they still lack luster. Some of the mazes get extremely annoying though. And the most crucial con is the camera angles----the camera angles are HORRIBLE. But ive somehow learn to cope with it.

Overall Devil May Cry 2 is a great game. All it really needs is some touching up. I really hope another sequal comes out! And by the way there is gong to be a theatrical release of Devil May Cry coming in 2005.

so, let's get started. dmc2 isn't the most original action title out, BUT it is a decent distraction 'til splinter cell or metal gear solid: substance. the weapons aren't all that interesting, the levels are huge but kinda boring, the bosses are a bit too easy (you stand back and blast away with your guns!), and the story really, really needs work if they plan on a dmc3. honestly, fans of the first one will enjoy it simply because it's a sequel to dmc, but new fans will be a little (yes, a LITTLE) disappointed by the lack of originality!!!! i personally like any game where you walk around blowing the crap out of everything that moves, but some fans may be turned off by this game. i gave it 3 stars 'cause it's a decent run'n'gun game, but it just doesn't have much substance.
