Devil May Cry 2

Devil May Cry 2 is definitely one of the best games of 2003 .It has great graphics ,sound , and gameplay .I would have given it a 5 out of 5 ,but the camera angels are practically horrible and I mean horrible .The first Devil May Cry had superb graphics and camera angels ,but in Devil May cry 2 about 40% of the game you don't see where you're going .For example in the beginning in one part I could see something that I wanted to get ,but when I got there I had to move around corners till I finally found it .
But overall Devil May Cry 2 is a great game .Capcom could've done much better specially after the first Devil May Cry .If you've played the first Devil May Cry (like me) you must buy this game ,but if you haven't played it and don't know if you really want it or not ,don't go for it .

A disappointment compared to the first Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry was hailed as one the best action games of all time when it was released. It combined detailed 3D graphics with the frantic action of 2D platformers and topped it all off with a sinister gothic theme. Unfortunately, Devil May Cry 2 is only a shadow of those things. The gameplay remains very similar to the first game...but the story, enemy design, dialogue, and weapons all seem slapped together without much thought. The main character is still Dante, but he is also accompanied by a female playable character named Lucia (whatever happened to Trish?). The areas are now much more wide open...which is fitting for a urban setting, but most enemies just let you pummel them to death from afar. It lacks the sense of urgency and danger that was present throughout the first game. Everything just has a rushed and unbalanced feel to it. It's a shame Capcom let this happen to a series that showed so much promise. If you are looking for a good 3D action game, I suggest Rygar or Shinobi instead (or the first Devil May Cry if you don't already own it).

Devil May Cry was an amazing game. Devil May Cry 2 is comparitively a let down. Here are the main problems with the game:
-It's Short.
-It's Easy.
-The Plot is Worthless.
-The Weapon/Upgrade System is Worthless.
-The Camera is still bad at times.
-The new combo system is worthless.
However, there are some redeeming points as well:
-The game is fun.
-Great if you just want to blast some baddies.
-Bloody Palace Mode is more fun than the story.
-Some cool stuff to unlock.
Basically, it's not an awful game. But it isn't a great one either. If you haven't played the original, get it instead of the sequel.

The worst Capcom sequel game. Buyers may cry.

I like DMC very much. DMC 2 just failed to meet the standard set by an average CAPCOM APRG game, not to say the outstanding DMC. I could not believe that CAPCOM could produce a sequel far worse than its predecessor in simply all aspects: the story, the gameplay (the finding of secret places for bonus in every mission is so repetitive and boring), designs (especially the monsters evolved from machines like tanks, helicopters is just a total disaster), and even graphics, which is completely unacceptable with the non-stop advancement in CG technology nowadays. You may not believe it. Neither did I. The second disc with another female character Lucia [is just bad].

In a word, dont waste your hard earned money on this game. You will cry.

Alright game...I bought it when on its release date and liked the graphics...I also liked that it had a differ player in it as well...but the downfall of the game is the graphics of the characters and as in the first DVC game Dante was a better fighter as compared to the second installment of this series....I mean dante cant really do much with his fighing style there isnt really much of it ...He doesnt slash at the monsters like he did in DVC1...It also needs a better storyline, better camera angles, better graphics in the characters, and a better fighting style as to the 1 in DVC1...I think in Devil May Cry 1 dante was much more improved fighter than in this 1...I hope capcom does something better..

I played through most of the game now and I've enjoyed it so far. Though I've only played a demo of the first devil may cry (plan to buy it soon), so I can't really compare it to the original. Anyway the game play is really interactive (Im guessing the first is as well), and up till now I still have found new attack combinations and it takes skill to pull off some of the better combos in sequence, depending on how stylish you are in pulling off some of the moves sometimes it makes you wish you could stop and replay back what you did, or put it in slow motion or something!. I think the heart amulets are cool but I wish there were more!, "A LOT MORE", weapons too!, hope I don't sound like I'm complaining; I'M NOT, SO GET OFF MY BACK!, so I liked this game and plan on playing the first soon, and hope I can give the next DMC a 5/5, make it soon, PEACE!.

This game has been doubted so much , but i liked it alot.There was'nt much a difference between this and dmc,but i thought it was fast and had some bone crunching action.It kicks ass when it comes to slashin and diceing enimies , the game aint too hard to beat either.I rented this game for a week, and i thought it was great.I did'nt complete the lucia disk,it s a bit different.The annoying bit is that the plot is rubbish,you basically have to go through hell and back to save a village ,and your prize is that an old lady tells you a story about your father....uh.. there are some tricky bits but not that many.

Awesome Storyline, but repetitive game play

If you liked Devil May Cry, you'll live this. Although the game is very repetitive, it can still captivate you for hours.

I own this game and play it every once in a while. My only advice is that everyone play it once. The gameplay is so 'cool' it'll trap you in it's spell for hours. The storyline is good but the new character's ending isn't quite as goot as Dante's. That and Dante has more difficult boss battles for some reason. It might be the guns he totes around compared to the various cutlery the other character has.

Rather different Sequel

I was amazed when I played this game at first. Mainly because the humanity of the characters seemed gone. As has been said before, the story and character ambition seems to have disappeared at the get-go of this game, but if you want action, you will not be disappointed! This game seems much more difficult to me than the first, perhaps which is only due to the differentiation from the original's controls. I have, at this writing not completed the game, but so far find it very engaging, and with all good fiction, find out more about the mythology as time goes on.

Ok,what is wrong with you people!!!!Bad reviews?I dont believe it!!!!!!Lets start with,you get the coolest weapons,the coolest moves,(better than the matrix game)the best graphics and sounds.See,I just decided to try this game,not knowing what it would be like,andas soon as I saw the begginning intro movie I knew it was awsome!!!!This game has the best and easy controls,and the funnest gameplay.I dont see how the first game is beter........If youve never played the devil may cry series,dont listen to the others,start with this!!!!
