"Zelda: Majora's Mask" is bound to be one of the great games of all-time. Like its predessessors, it has depth, adventure, humor, and more! Just about the only thing that could drag it down is the boot-changing thing from "Ocarana of Time"...

Peter J. Smail, you are totally wrong.

Peter J. Smail, If this game is just like Zelda number one then I will like it because I liked Zelda number one. It is full of adventure and puzzle solving and I do understand that some people do not like video games that you have to actually sit down and think about how to get past an obstacle or defeat a villain. I am not saying that you are dumb, Peter, because I don't like to say that kind of stuff to people. It's just that I am a loyal Zelda fan and you have offended me. So, People who are reading this, go ahead and by the game because I beleive you will enjoy the game very much. The writer of this revew is saying bye, bye for now.

Great Graphics - Game Play is Disapointing

I love the Zelda Series. I have played every single Zelda for Nintendo since the very first one for the 8 bit system over 12 years ago came out.

MM is not that much fun. The graphics rock, but the time limit makes the puzzles hard in a way that is not challenging, but simply pain. The game is also small compared to the last Zelda, which was huge!

I guess you could say MM is an okay game, but if you loved Zelda, esp. Orcana, you might very well be disapointed. ... The second Zelda game for the original Nintendo was also very different than most of the others and less interesting. I hope Nintendo hears this and makes the next Zelda better.

Remember when you were trying to get all the sages and then beat a guy who you don't even think was that all that powerful? Well you wont remember a thing when you start to play this game! With the moon heading toward you for like 72 "hours" and even better trying to get some mask off this kid who used to be real nice and all you think i'ts gonna be easy! Just like the last game?! Well you're wrong! This game has action packed battles with bosses you couldn't even imagine and races that are really wierd like that one you race with a dog and you think it's gonna be easy?! With new songs and new forms and lots and lots of masks and having to use them for different tasks and you think it's gonna be easy?! With differeny people to save and proof they're not guilty and then beat the kid with the mask and you think it's gonna be EASY?! ...well you're wrong.

Without question, without debate, this is hands down the finest video game that has ever been released. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would argue this point, but they're wrong. Majora's Mask is not simply an Ocarina of Time rehash to keep the Zelda fans happy. This game is vast, complex, gorgeously designed, and perfectly orchestrated. Link is once again out to save the world after being robbed by an imp wearing a strange mask. From the point Link begins pursuit of this annoying villian, the game is thrust into an alternate dimension that is teeming with vicious monsters and comical characters. The bosses are gigantic and wickedly detailed, and are very focused on the extermination of our favorite green-clad hero (Link, NOT Luigi). The new world Link is given to explore is fantastic, and perfect for the gamer who just wants to wander aimlessly about, killing whatever monsters he crosses paths with. For the player who wants to beat the game, and do it quickly, he'll have to search elsewhere. Majora's Mask is going to take some time and dedication, and for those of us who aren't so great at Zelda games, a Player's Guide. But the depth and complexity of the game is the beauty of it. There aren't ten levels of increasing difficulty and objectives. Instead, the game is interactive and far more realistic than something of Goldeneye fare. The characters that Link will meet are both familiar and entertaining. Anyone who doesn't think Tingle is the funniest thing to happen to a video game has either a sick, sick sense of humor, or is complete lacking thereof. There are plenty of other characters that bring a smile to the players face, but Tingle takes the cake. The only thing that could be better than this game, is perhaps a StarCube version. But we'll have to wait for that. The music in this game is borderline perfect, the only problem being the repetition. But what video game doesn't suffer from this problem? That's right, there aren't any.

When all is said and done, this game is a necessity for anyone who was, or is, a Zelda fan, or a fantasy game fan, or appreciates a high-quality video game. This is the best thing an owner of an N64 could buy for themselves.

Good Game!

First of all, for all those people who gave it three and two stars, don't listen! There is no game that is perfect. But as always, there are good points and bad points. I'll start with the GOOD-

*Great graphics - characters and backgrounds are filled with amazing detail!

*Much easier than the previous Zelda, OOT (I know a lot of people say it's harder, but I think it is MUCH easier).

*The plot shifts from your ol' 'rescue the pretty princess'!

*You can collect tons of mask, and expeirimenting with Link's new abilities is always fun!

*Plenty of things to do outside the dungeon if your stuck (an amazingly complex world).

*GREAT FUN!

Now,the BAD-

*The whole 'you got three days to save the world' stinks. I hate timed games. Very frusterating.

*Although the plot is finally different than the other Zelda games, there are FAR too many similarities with characters and relations

*Going to play it for the second time? BORING.

*Cost. Expensive game - expansion pack

*Same old puzzles. You will find that many of the secrets such as 'shoot the eye with the arrow' are exactly the same

All in all, this game was really great. If you haven't tried out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarnia of Time, I'd get that first. Stick with the classics. Ready for something, new, challenging, and fun? Get Majora's Mask, it's deffineitly worth your money!

Zelda fans never say die!!

Ever since my faithful 8-bit NES, I've always been a big Zelda series fan. I never cared for the Game Boy versions, but I still own the very first installment, The Adventure of Link and SNES' A Link to the Past, having all three been a part of my childhood entertainment. After quitting videogames for about five years I decided to start it up again with a Nintendo 64, circa 1999. Since I had the system, I went out and got Ocarina of Time. Needless to say, I wore that game down. To this day, I've played nothing like it. Nothing off the Playstation 2 or even Gamecube comes anywhere near it. Its flawless. The storyline is astounding as are the graphics, for its time. When I heard Majora's Mask was to be released on October 2000 (exact same date as the Playstation 2, the 26th), I knew I had better start saving some cash. Immediately, I fell in love with it. People might say the storyline gets too complicated, and Link gets played, but that's the whole idea: innovation. That's what's so great about these Zelda games, they always come out with an original concept. Isn't that the whole objective of game making?
I thought the rest of these two games seemed familiar to the old series, regardless of what anyone else says, and note that I've been playing these since back in the day! Now, I just caught a glimpse of a few screen shots for the upcoming Gamecube installment The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker. All I have to say is, I'm disappointed. This might be a preconception, and I may be wrong. But why make Link more cartoonesque than he ever looked before? Its a step down to all that's been done before. They should have made him look as animated as the pictures they had in the N64's instruction manuals. It seems like there was no innovation put forward in the graphics department. This might be the end of the line for our boy hero, and that saddens me. But who knows, I might be wrong. So Nintendo, PROVE ME WRONG!

A great game but it doesn't have the zelda magic if you want a good N64 Zelda I would get Ocarina of Time.

The best game ever to be released on N64!

A sequel to Ocarina of Time, this game is sure to be a hit! And trust me, I know. I've probably gone to every site there is about this game! First, this guy steals Epona and you follow him into another demension, and you have to save Termina from the fast-falling moon. If you are a Zelda fan, this is the game for you!
