It's not up to the Hype

While at first glance, the game seems very similar to Ocarina of Time, once you get into the game, it becomes something more. I would recomend this to anyone.

Incredible

It seems that Nintendo read my mind with this one. . . everything I missed in Zelda 5 is present here. The premise of this game is so cool, with Link having to replay the same three days over and over--you wouldn't think it would work well, because you have to lose stuff like rupees and arrows every time you save, but they balanced the game out just enough so that it doesn't get annoying. You'll see how cool it is right away, as Link is stuck as a Deku scrub, and has only the three days to transform back before he can save the game. The situation gets really tense, as you're not quite sure what to do, but the clock is always there, ticking away. I don't think the previous Zelda's ever got this exciting. Plus, the cinematic work is much better, the old Zelda music is finally back, the environments are more varied and interesting. . . this game is much better than Ocarina of Time. Don't wait.

Hard yet fun

First of all the beggining is a little boring because you cant save for a long time. After a will it gets really fun and its hard to take your eyes off the screen. I suggest you get this game after betting Ocarina of time. Overall this game is a 4 star game.

Not nearly as good as the first.

I was very disappointed with this game. If you read my review for ocarina of time youll see how much i love that game. So when i heard N64 was coming out with another Zelda i couldnt wait to get it. But when i got it i found that the story sucked compared to the first (not sayin its a bad story). Its annoying to have to play as that damn deku scrub thing. And when you finally get that mask off you have no clue what to do. If i didnt have the guide book i wouldnt be nearly as far as i am. Which is not far at all. This game is very confusing and the fact that you cant save unless you find a frigen owl is idiotic. Also it is very annoying that you have a 3 day time span to get what u need to get done. The songs are dumb. The bosses arent as great. The levels arent as breathtaking as in ocarina of time. Im not sayin this is a bad game...all ive said is just comparing it to the first. Thats y it sounds so bad. But its my opinion. If youre a Zelda fan then buy this. But you might be disappointed.

Groundhog Day in a Hyrule Paralell Universe

The new Zelda is great. At first I was very annoyed because if you don't succeed in your objective by 72 hours (in Link's world) you have to start all over again. This is incredibly frustrating.

But here's the thing - It's kind of like the movie, Groundhog Day. You live the same three days over and over again. If you change your perspective about this and think of it as an advantage, it actually can be quite fun. You use everything to your advantage and everyone will be doing basically the same thing. Plus, you get to keep whatever you obtain through your journey (weapons, songs, heart containers) - just the experiences have been erased from character's minds.

The music and look is anchored in "Ocarina of Time". But the styling of the interaction is slightly different. It's more kinetic. There are jump cuts. The story isn't linear either - It jumps back and forth through time, more so than "Ocarina".

All in all it's a fun game but it's very different than its predecessor.

Must... Play... More...

I usually don't like adventure games like this, but not this one! This has to be the best game i've played yet... At least one the had an actuall mission to it. And the three day time limit, I hate being able to dilly dally. Just keeping you character run around doing nothing. At least you can go back in time fight bosses and mini quests that were cool. Plus, trying to collect all the masks.
P.S. - it you're going to fight Majora (final boss I think) you had better bring a bottle of Romani Chatuea Milk with you!

WOW

This game is awesome. But when you start the game and your time ends......your arrows are gone, and the deungeons are incomplete it's a big challenge.

The reasons I give this game 5 stars are as follows:1.the graphics are beuatiful.2.you use alot of diffrent masks to your advantages.3.some places like the stone tower temple are real mind-benders.4.when you put on certain types of masks a certain type of enemy dances.5.the gameplay rocks!!!

The best game I have ever played in my life!

The excitement of this game will have you playing with your jaw dropped to the floor! Race against time to save millions of despret people from sertan DOOM! If you have played Zelda: Ociraina of Time, (and gotten at least pretty far so that you know what your main mission and problem is) you will find that Majora's Mask is mysteriously familiar. Talk to people, frogs, human sized rock divouring gerbal like creaters, skeletens, invisible ghosts, human sized rock and role playing fish, female pirate theifs, male pirates, fisherman, faries, and other mysterious creaters and people. Use weapons simalar to Zelda: Ociraina of Time. The second you start the game until the end you will be on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. Every time you turn the game on and play it and then turn it off, you will allways be thinking WOW.

I borrowed the game from my friend yesterday, and played it from 8:00-12:00 (our time). It's very addicting. And very frustrating. I played for 4+ hours, but yet I only beat 1/5 of the game. If the Southern Swamp is hard, then imagine how hard the rest is!? I had to use the Nintendo "Player's Guide" the whole way through the Southern Swamp. I like the part when you fight Skull Kid on "Carnival Eve" or midnight on the 3rd day.

Great game, surprisingly time is NOT a problem. Hearts on the other hand, is.
