It all started with the appearance of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64. The game introduced revolutionary graphics and gameplay for a new and exciting experience. Now, 2 years or so later, Majora's Mask makes its mark. The game follows Ocarina of Time in gameplay but introduces a completeley new plot and storyline. You, playing as Link, were riding in the forest when suddenly your horse, Epona, was stolen by a Skull-Kid wearing a strange and powerful mask. You follow him, only to be transformed into a Deku Scrub, into the world of Termina, where you learn that the moon will crash into Termina in 3 days. From there on the storyline develops into a complicated plot of mystery and adventure. You'll travel through various worlds and take on various forms with the special transformation masks.
Fans and gamers of the first title will recognize the style of gameplay and new gamers will find it very easy to learn. The game is great and intriguing, keeping you hooked and awaiting to solve the next mystery or problem your faced with. I received the game for Christmas and found it very fun. The game is really worth the money. This is a great title and it stays true to the genre of Zelda games. I give it five stars for excellent gameplay, intriguing storyline and a very high replay and fun factor. A great title for anyone who likes a good action, adventure game. There's no doubt about it! Majora's Mask can beat Ocarina of Time any day!!! So what if it isn't as long as Ocarina of Time? It's still cool! With only 72 hrs., you have to be quick to save the world, while in Ocarina of Time, you have as much time as you want. You can now say new things such as "No Thank you,"instead of "No,". If you're going to choose which one is better, Majora's Mask is the way to go!!!!!!
Endless Frustration

I have played the Zelda Series since the beginning and have been with them since that and the Final Fantasy Series. I found this game irritating on many counts THE TIME LIMIT, which you had to get to the boss of the dungeon or warp back in time and start all the way over again. Plus getting the annoying fairies in time too before the moon falls. But that is no biggy compared to the last dungeons on the moon. I beat Majora which was not a problem. The problem was the Goron Dungeon on the moon!!!Absolutely the most annoying and unfair dungeon of any Zelda game. You have to deal with literally impossible jumps using the Goron Roll and when you get to the farthest side and fall you have to start completely over. So I was unable to get the Final Mask. I gave up and smashed it against my wall. What happened to the fairness is Zelda I ask you. For this one reason really I give it one star. You work so hard to get to the end only to be taunted by one of the last dungeons. Whoever created the Goron Dungeon on the moon must be braindead. Also only 4 dungeons I am used to much more in the Zelda series. I played Zelda 1 and 2 on the NES and beat it 2 was hard but was not impossible. I loved A Link to the Past on the SNES and was very pleased with Links Awakining on Gameboy and very impressed With the Ocarina of Time on the N64 so I have not given up just because one game was bunk. But to all you gamers this is what you should know. There is a time limit in Zelda and you have to warp back in time and if you are in a dungeon sorry but all the doors you opened will have to be opened again plus you lose all your items and some things can only be done at certain times in the game. I guess that is about it. I can say one dungeon can ruin a game because it can keep you from the ultimate mask which would have been very helpful against Majora.
This game [Stinks] EVERYONE

I personally am a zelda fan myself, but i DID NOT expect the second zelda to be so horrible! well, if you're really in to stuff like going "aimlessly" around the whole zelda world, trying to find masks, then this is the game for you. This game has great 3-D graphics, but the story line just [STINKS]. i mean, what kind of challenge is there just finding masks? and the bosses are awfully lame also. The first boss dies after three bombs Link throw. I would say this game would be great if it had more challanges. It gets frustrating after a while trying to find all thirty, and, the worst part is, if you collect all 30 masks, the final boss (majora's mask) is VERY easy, but if you dont have all 30, it is really hard to beat it. And also, why would you waste 80 bucks for a stupid game? (60 dollars for the game and 20 dollars for the expansion pack) I recommend you to buy another game.. don't take me wrong, the first zelda was the best RPG game ever created on N64. all im saying is that the second zelda could be better, a lot better. Just skip this game.
What a terrible disappointment!

Wow, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Zelda is my favorite all time series, but this is probably the single worst game I have ever bought. The only reason it gets two stars is because it belongs to the same series as the other games and has the same great interface/engine as OoT. Don't waste your money on this game, just wait until the gamecube one comes out. The gameplay isn't nearly as fun as old games, the time thing gets really annoying--just watch groundhog day instead of playing this game. The plot is incredibly thin and has nothing to do with old games (why even call it Zelda if she's nowhere to be seen, let alone Gannon, the greatest villain of all time). It really goes out with a whimper--the ending is really bad, without a cool final boss or good ending plot cut scene. You aren't missing anything of this great series by skipping this entry--its better left forgotten.
Thrown together, quick to beat very tedious!

I would have to say that this game was really just thrown together, probably to get more funds for future projects. It is unlike any other game you have played, which is not always a good thing, because the unique part about this game is you have 72 hours! There is no catch, you have 72 hours, however you do have the song of time to take you back to the starting time. Then, if you do that, you must do everything all over again! It is a very tedious game! You must do the same tasks over and over again! Also, the game was so easy that I was able of beating it in two days upon first playing it! If you are looking for a long challenge, get the other Zelda! This game also requires the N64 Expansion pack, so make sure you have it!
An okay game. Great if you like games like it.

I wasn't sure what to think of this game when I got it. I was hoping it would be somewhat like its Ocarina of Time for N64 but it wasn't that close. There was a lot of intricate details and tasks you need to accomplish in this game and in my opinion it would be nearly impossible without a Video Game Guide that you get at the electronic store. Don't get me wrong here. The graphics and sound were pretty good. Especially considering that it is still on Nintendo 64. But this game isn't like the first and is kind of a disappointment. If you like lengthy games where there is a ton of stuff to do and you have a load of time on your hands, then this game is definitely worth the price. If not, then I would suggest sticking to old Zelda or buying a different game out there.

When this game first came out I couldn't buy it because I just got done putting up pink wallpaper in my room. However I was so excited that my parents had to lay down newspaper from "The Toledo Blade" for me in my room. Though it was a good idea since i soiled it soon after. When i finally stopped being pitiful and worked and earned some money and borrowed some from my lover, Terry Sochoki, I bought Majora's Mask. When I first played the game I thought to myself " WOW, LINK IS HOT!!!" But let us not forget Skull Kid, who doesn't look bad at all. Soon after I bought a few posters featuring both of them and posted them in Hello Kitty frames. Needless they get me "excited".
More annoying that any game that came before it...

This game gave the sequel a bad name. The ocarina of time, the first Zelda to appear on the N64 was, and still is debatably the best game to appear on that system. Majora's mask comes along, promising to improve on the successes of OOT, and in my opinion, fails miserably.
To start with, it is like playing an old Nintendo 2-D side-scrolling adventure in that the entire game has about a 45 minute time clock. What this means for game play is that everything accomplished in this 45 minute time period that is not pivotal (like acquiring a new weapon) is erased at the end. Second, sometimes events do not happen until the latter half of the time span, and if you miss it, you have to wait for the entire span to cycle through again.
The game also has no contiguity with anything that we have ever seen before. This can be a good thing, but not in this case, with the evil villian being an evil mask. The game has a dependency on other masks, which may add depth to the puzzles, but at the same time, makes them monotonous with all the switching of masks.
All in all, most of the elements in the new Zelda hardly live up to the name, and make it more of a toil than a game.
