Save the World! No wait... Save the Happy Mask Salesman!

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 5

As my title implies, this game is not all it's cracked up to be. First of all, the story is unclear. And to me, well the story in a game is the most important part! In Majora's Mask, at the beginning of the game, it seems the object is to get Majora's mask and give it to the Happy Mask Saleman because it was stolen from him and to save the world from its evil powers. But then, as you get past the initial CG sequences, the object changes, and you now have to save the world from the moon that's going to fall in 3 days. But the boss of the game is Majora's Wrath... on the moon... is anyone else confused yet? What is the connection between the falling of the moon and Majora's Mask? Well, I guess if you have to ask you'll never know. That's certainly the case with me.

Another bad thing about this game is the lack of dungeons, weapon variety, and bosses. Bosses are so fun, but there are only a few in this game! Also there are many saving problems. If you save at an owl statue then play again and turn off w/out remembering to save at an owl statue again, you've now lost all data since your last song of time! Argh! Frustrating! The slingshot, the biggoron sword, the longshot, the megaton hammer, all my beloved weapons missing from this game. Even Epona's controls are messed up! And you can't be an adult...

Sure, the minigames and sidequests beat Ocarina of Time 100 to 1. And the whole mask-transforming thing is awesome. But what happened to the greatness of Ocarina of Time? And, oh yeah, where's Princess Zelda? What's this series called anyway, the Legend of Link?

Sure it's an ok game, but I am definitely feeling some severe lack of the classic greatness of the series.

ZEDA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK THIS WILL BE THE BEST EVER ZELDA GAME, AND YOU DEFINENTLY GOT ROOM TO SAY IT IS THE ALL AROUND BEST GAME. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME BUY OCORINA OF TIME, IT'S A GREAT GAME AND MAJORAS MASK IS GOING TO BE EVAN BETTER.

Expansion Pak.....hmmm

Well....I really haven't played this game yet, but it soundslike a pretty good game. The only disadvantage is that you have to pay[extra] for the expansion pak. They should include it with the game, like they did with Donkey Kong 64! The graphics look pretty good, and the game looks very intresting. The only other disadvantage is that you only can play as Adult Link at the very end(and that's only if you can find ALL the masks!) I'm sure I'll have to get a players guide, but hopefully I won't have too. I've played Zelda 64 Ocarina Of Time at least 100 times and I still love it! I hope this game is as good as Ocarina Of Time!Well, thanks for taking the time to listen to me!

Falls Short of the "Legend"

Briefly, I am a huge fan of all of the Zelda/Link games on N64, SuperNintendo and Gameboy, and have played them all numerous times. So, it was with great excitment that I awaited this new title. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this new adventure. First and foremost, I hate the 3-day time limit for each of the tasks. One of the wonderful things about the previous games was the ability to wander and explore at you own pace, discovering little "treasures" all of the place. Unfortunately, you have to run around so much that you don't have time to enjoy the game. I sure hope that the new Gameboy title that is scheduled to be relased soon is better than the N64 title.

Complicated

The problem with this game is that you have to time certain things for them to happen, you have a clock that display the time for 3 days - then you die!
So you have to start over, start over, start over...
Basically you never know where to go, when stuff is going to happen, so you just run around and hope something's gonna happen.
I thought this game was awful, get "Ocarina of Time" instead.

DO NOT BUY!

I picked up Majora's Mask looking for a good game to curb the boredom. Majora's Mask begins directly after the end of Ocarina Of Time. The story is that Link is looking for Navi. Thats the only mention of Navi in this game. Navi has been replaced by Tatl and Tael. He is young (as restored to this age by Zelda at the end of OOT). The game play is the same as OOT but thats where the similarities end. Yes you will experience familiar characters throughout the game but they seem different. But let me get straight away to the things that bug me. First of all the game is set in the land of Tierma? Where the **** is that? But I'll accept it. Next thing: you cant save any time you want to. This popular feature from OOT is gone. Say your playing your game, deep into it, and miles from a save point, when suddenly the power goes out. All the items you had? Gone. All the time playing the game? Lost. Next thing: Time limit. You have 72 hours game time. Thats three hours real time. Now conviently at one point you learn a song on the Ocarina that transports you back to the first day. Also conveniently you lose a lot of stuff by doing this. There is a ton of stuff to do and only three "days" to do it. Last but certainly not least, horrible storyline and confusing areas. Hyrule is gone. Nothing is familiar and unless you have really good patience you are going to give it up after about five minutes. It seems like the people who made the game said "Oh these people will buy anything with the Zelda name on it. Who cares if we make a good game or not?" Buyer beware. Do not buy!

Majora's Mask will be the next hit. You collect masks and when you have different masks you can do different things. If you have a Zora mask you are part of an awesome rock band with a fish guitar. The game style is just like the previous Zelda game.

You gotta play to know what i'm talking about

All I can say is, it is worth playing through the entire game, even if you hate nintendo and zelda, just to put on the final mask at the end of the game!

Do You Mind if I Hump this Game?

if you are expecting a really cool Zelda game you are going to be very disapointed. You just do the same thing over and over and over again. (. . .)
