I finished the game. I didn't have the many bug problems that others have as far CTD and such. (only happened once)I did enjoy the game play which is similar to KOTOR I. The extra force powers are nice and the ability to train your other characters is cool too. The problem is that many plot lines are left hanging. You get to a point with a character and then it just seems to stop. I believe you could get farther with the characters if you only kept them with you in your party. But there is no way to get through all of the plots with all of the characters unless you play the game several times. The problem with that is the ending. I was very disappointed with the ending and don't have a real desire to play the game again to get the missed character plots because of this. It was a major let down at the end. I really enjoyed KOTOR I and was hoping for more of the same. The gameplay is similar but the plot leaves a lot to be desired.
Originally I had given this game 5 and 5 for Fun and overall.
I would now give it a 4 and a 3.
brillance.

This game is far superior to the first. This game is far superior to most rpgs! I was blown away by this game..every hour I played of it, I got even more excited..big smiles continually crossing my face. The character development is the subtlest I've ever seen in a game, and the "missions" blended together to form a story.
This game wasn't perfect, but I do not remember the last time a game continually brought the goods to the table hour after hour.
The dialogue, characters, missions.. all so good. I rarely play a game I love this much. That envelops me this much. I know I'm going to play this one again for years to come. Thank-you George, bioware..but most of all the guys from Obsidian. I am really impressed.
Awesome looking.

This game includes for light jedi: a Watchman, Master, or Weapons Master; and for the evil brother: An Assanssin, Lord, or Marauder. Yes it will be better than the 1st, get it or wait a month afterwards 'till the price drops. This just because it will almost definitly be $50.
Annoying as heck

So I beat the first KOTOR in under a week of playing, with several hours of play a day, and I loved it. It was tightly designed, involved you in the plot, and had interesting, complex details, good character design, and was one of the best RPGs I've played, falling just short of Baldur's Gate and the Fallout games, but definitely above Diablo. The weekend after I beat KOTOR, I got KOTOR 2 and started it. I was worried when it didn't allow you to import a character from the old one, but I decided to stick it out. Halfway through, I started having my doubts. The characters are meant to be complex, but are either opaque and obtuse to the point of total frustration (The Scoundrel you get at the beginning of the game, for example), or transparent and thin (Such as the character of Disciple, a party member that can be found with a female player character). I continued though, and then I got to the last part of the game. The plot, which had consistently been pointless throughout, grew even more so, to the point that I turned to my brother and asked, "Now, why am I still playing this?" A confrontation near the end relied mainly on how much fighting skill I'd accumulated with a PC who wasn't even a combat-heavy character (and who I hadn't developed as one in the course of the game). The final level's confrontations and battles make no sense, and the game mobs you with as many enemies as possible to make up for the earlier areas. The quick progression of powers and skills from the first game is slowed down here to an almost glacial pace, making it nigh-impossible to get through the final battles, and a bug with the med-pacs made it even harder, because after a while, my ability to heal myself was taken away entirely. I have set the game down and may or may not finally complete it, depending on whether I end up being that bored and have nothing better to do. Among the high points, however, I must say the bonus for light/dark mastery and the improved party system, with its "influence" levels did add an interesting new feature to the game, but even this was spoiled by the inability to gain certain levels of influence unless you brought certain party members to certain areas, making it all the more frustrating. I did try to enjoy the game, but it's not something I'd recommend to any save the faithful.
Horrid

The force powers and character interaction are improved, and the missions are less linear, which makes for good game play. Was a tough one building a lightsabre from scratch and the ability to actually build parts and equipment as well as upgrade is a huge plus. I have'nt finished yet, but it is a blast so far. Throwing in the different battle forms and now you can have real hand to hand combat. The swoop races are too hard for me though.lol. Force powers work better as level and wisdom go up, so watch where you put your infrequent ability points at level ups. Overall it just blows away KOTOR 1. IMHO.
love it!

The story of STAR WARS - THE SITH LORDS picks up about five years after STAR WARS - KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC. the story may remind you a bit of STAR WARS EPISODE III, and the classic trilogy, EPISODES IV-VI; in the sense that you are the last of the Jedi. There are a few things that need to be said about SITH LORDS. it is an awesome game, however I found KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC to be MUCH better in comparision. Nothing against this game: after playing KotOR, you could you top THAT? At times, SITH LORDS feels rushed. There are a few technical things that make SITH LORDS different than the first, such as influencing party memebers. But the game PLAYS like the first one, it follows pretty much the same engine: there's no massive overhaul. Because of that, it takes a little away from the "oomph" that the first title had. The best way to describe what I mean is that JEDI ACADEMY didn't feel a whole different than JEDI KNIGHT II, did it? All in all, a great follow up, but not quite as good as the first. I can't wait for the sequel to THIS one now....
GONNA BE THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!

well I've never played the first game, planning on doing that in the summer when I have more time.
In my opinion I think the game is not bad, at least the storyline was decent. Seriously, those who say there is no ending need to look beyond the surface.
Personally I hate RPG games cause all games start with you being a troubled person, and at the end become a OMGish-GREAT HERO, and then a grand ending that makes you feel good inside; But this game showed that the Jedi Order is too passive and stubborn to save the republic from the power-blinded sith aggression.
No matter what you choose to be (light or dark, good or evil), you'll see that the galaxy's fate is inevitable - which makes a lot of sense....a single Jedi changing the fate of the republic? or the fate of the galaxy...?
This is also the reason why I like Star Wars more than I like Lord of the Rings, because the Star Wars never try to create a hero who is just PURELY GREAT, instead, it creates heroes that are both dark and light, both good and evil... and it never tries to pull off a perfect grand ending.
Anyways, I think it depends on your personal preference. All I can tell you is that if you are one of those people who love heroic journeys and grand endings, then you probably won't like this game that much....cause you won't be able to save the republic, the jedi order fell, and the sith never liked you, so you ultimately return to exile. To some people the story may have "accomplished nothing", but to others it already has proven many philosophical points. (I especially like the part where Kreia confronted the Jedi Masters at the Jedi Enclaive, well said.)
Either way, I'd say, this game is worth a play.
