Not just a fighting game....

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

Soul Calibur isnt just your ordinary, 2 player, fighting game. Theres much more to it.

You choose your character and now you are under the command of Edge Master, who teaches you your basic abilities. After his training, you go on quests to fight many combat fighters in the search of a demonic sword called Soul Edge.

This game has great graphics that make the Dreamcast go to the extreme. The music is creative and the voice overs are very well done. This game is a magnificent example of a new improved fighting game and its definetly worth the buy.

Best Fighting Game Ever...

When I first bought Soul Calibur I was a little unsure of how it was gonna be. I though, oh well, just another Teken. But boy was I wrong. This is the best game (next to GTA3) I have ever played on any system! The graphics are simply breath-taking. Every little detail is perfect, no glitches no cut-throughs. It's perfect. The different story lines for each character. The voices the weapons, its amazing. The signature moves the conflicts between certain characters. The best part is the way after you beat it, you get a new character and it keeps you playing. I play for hours and hours.

An amazing fighting game for the dreamcast.

This game is absolutely unbelievable ! Soul Caliber for the dreamcast is undoubtebly the best Dreamcast fighting game. Using real weapons and different fighting styles, it is the most realistic in terms of graphics and it is the most accurate in terms of realistic sword battles. Created by Namco ( who brought you the Tekken series ) the gameplay is absolutly flawless. Soul Caliber for the Dreamcast even surpasses it's arcade predecessor.

Soul Caliber! more action than any 3d game out now!

Soul Calibur is one of the best games to come out in a while. It takes graphics to a whole other level. I played this over at my cousins house and when I saw the graphics..my mouth dropped for a good half hour before I could slap myself back into reality. The Moves in this game are unmatched by any game out now. It's so realistic that you might almost think that it's a movie that your watching. It's so many modes like the traning modes, and battle modes where you get new characters and new places to go to and extra stuff. The amount of things in this game makes it impossible to get bored of it. The only thing that could make it better is getting different weapons like the first one. Thats the only thing I didn't like, but the rest of it more than makes up for it...u won't even remember about getting weapons once you play. If it's any reason to get a dreamcast..this si the game! I don't have one but if I did, this would be the first game to get. If you have any doubts about this game..........check out the intro alone and that should answer your question.

TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

When I first decided to get a Dreamcast, it was over because of Capcom's announcement that they were going to make a Resident Evil game for Dreamcast, starring my favourite Resident Evil character, the illicitly beautiful (for polygons, especially with the Dreamcast hardware)Claire Redfield. During that summer, I was at a Namcoland and I checked out Soul Calibur. I liked it so much that I decided I wanted a Dreamcast as soon as possible. I read reviews, and saw screens, but it didn't really impress me. Finally I got my Dreamcast, put in Soul Calibur, and I was awed by the beautiful graphics. 24 hours later, I decided this was the best fighting game I had ever played. The characters move and talk fluently and believable! Their hair moves and blows depending the climate of the stage!(In cold stages, they even show their icy breaths!)Not only were the graphics flawless, the fighting system and sound was also perfect! Also notable are the beautiful women! (Most beautiful: Taki and Seung Mina)

Featuring the greatest visula gameplay graphic ever brought to console, SC takes you beyond the game and lets you move about the arena with smooth form. The moves and styles are realistc and at the same time surreal. The only down fall comes at the end. I was so pumped the first time I had beaten it... but there was no amazing cinematic that I had come to expect (after being a huge Tekken fan for so long)It was just some stills and text... the stills were cool and storybook like... but I felt no reward.

I love this game...BLING BLING!

This game is the best...i love the graphics and the gameplay. I've been playing fighting games since back in the day, and never since street fighter 2 came out 10 years ago did i enjoy a game this much. This game never gets boring...not even after playing it 24/7 for weeks! Seein is believing, so all you doubters, just play this game and you'll be hooked.

This best fighting game

This game is the the best! The graphics are beautiful and crisp. The fighters are perfectly shadowed in their surroundings and you can see every last detail in their faces and costumes. The characters are interesting and fun to be with two options of clothing and great individuality. The weapons and moves are original, swords, axes, daggers and other fun stuff. Even though most people hate how they speak Japanese, I think it is really cool. There is no denying that this game is great.

Best visuals on the system so far.

Soul Blade was one of my favorite games on the Playstation and Soul Calibur totally blows the first game away. Some of the characters also appear from the first game but there are many new characters to learn to play with and fight with. The fight scenes are spectacular and it is great how the story mode to get new game secrets actually forces you to learn to fight even better.

You cannot win certain parts of the story mode without learning new moves you may not have been used to using (or never tried to use) in the main Arcade part of the game. The Sounds and the visuals in the game are nothing short of outstanding. I greatly enjoyed playing the game and getting all of the characters and then getting all of the pictures through the story mode and unlocking game secrets (like how to make your own personalized intro sequence)

Would recommend this game to anyway who enjoys a well developed and great playing (and excellent looking) fighting game.

This game is truly excellent. I have been playing the series since the begining (Soul Edge) and I'm still impressed. The game is extreamely versatile with many hidden characters and a practice mode that helps you learn all of their moves. I have been playing this game with a friend of mine everyday and we still find it challenging. I would give this game a 5 but I'm not sure what a 5 for a deamcast game is, compared to games for other systems it is a five plus! A definate keeper, go out and get it today.
