I think this game has broken down the wall between old and new computer animation. The graphics on this game our outstanding, even the fighter's mouths move like real humans does when talking. I say this is a giant step in graphics from MK1! I mean in the early 90's MK1 came out and it was the best thing ever ( or so we thought), now it's almost 2000 and were leaving on a bang!
This Game Kicks Serios A**

The best part of this game has to be the flying framerate that the dreamcast provides it! At 60fps, everything looks like a stunning cinimatic playing out in front of you. Another great thing about the game is that the characters have at least 40 moves each! if you don't have it BUY IT. and if you do GO AND PLAY IT NOW!
THIS GAME ROCKS

This beats the pants off of any Tekken, Mortal Kombat, or Streetfighter game. The graphics are awesomely realistic, and oh so smooth. The weapons are really cool too, and it has A LOT of moves, some of them look REALLY painful too. A great stress reliver. I don't think that any parents would buy this for a 5 year old, but then again I am not 5, so I do not care. SOUL CALIBUR RULLZ
Technologically sophisticated!

When the SFII series entered the homes of avid "Fighter" fans, a common statement was, "Wow, it couldn't get any better than this." Then the Mortal Kombat series entered the arena. Shortly after, there was Virtua Fighter. Then came the Tekken series. When the 3rd of the Tekken titles hit home, the common statement was still, "Wow, it couldn't get any better than this." Well, each and every time it has. And now, Soul Calibur is truly shining on top!
While being immersed in this well developed game that's more than eye candy, one can't help but truly believe that it really CAN'T get any better than this! However, the graphics are only a mere factor in the near perfection of this program. The game developers paid attention to anatomical animation and took advantage of what the hardware can do with many frames per second. Yes, the characters actually move, balance, and flow as one physically should while in motion! There are no words that can give enough compliments to the detail in the stage backgrounds. There are many different fighters with different fighting styles to choose from. They fight in a TRUE 3D realm! In addition to side stepping, you can actually WALK your fighter around the arena, unlike the simple side stepping motion in fighting games of the past.
Bottom line: History shows that it will get better than this (Although it's really hard to believe.) But until that comes along, have the BEST. Click on that "add to cart" button now!

By far one of the greatest games i have ever played. Great story, mind-blowing graphics, awesome characters and more. Everything about this game is incredible, right down to the realistic breathing motions of the characters! The soundtrack is the best I have heard out of any fighting game to date. I am desperately trying to find it, but i still can't. Let me know if you do! Lots of game modes and jam-packed with secrets. It will take you a long time to get bored with this game! This is the only reason I haven't sold my DC yet, since Sega abandoned it.

the controls are so limited and clumsy that I do not know a player who has not be frustrated to tears. press down of the direction pad and sometimes you go right and sometimes you duck. the difficulty of combat, or speed of the opponent is not consistent within the same level. the game is mildly entertaining, but do not attempt to master it, or any such nonsense because you'll just wind up getting frustrated and bored. attacking gonzo-style almost always wins over tactics, so that beginners can beat experienced players with frequency (until they start trying to use tactics).

Ok, some say this game is not fun, but it has good graphics. Are you forgetting something? How about 1 on 1? That's right. There is a 2player mode. That is what makes this game fun, is by having some friends over and holding neighborhood tournaments. So what if it isn't fun by your self. Get some friends and kick there arse!
A Fighting Game with MORE than Just Flash

The thing I don't like about the latest Capcom fighters is, Capcom concentrates too much on flash and flair. There's no real thought, stratagey, or effort needed. You get a guy in the corner and do silly combos. Big woop.
Soul Calibur offers more. Along with a practice mode, you get specail matches. You may be in a gauntlet. You may have to use "unblockable" moves. There are matches in which you'll only see your opponents' weapons but not their bodies. The higher your score, the more items can be unlocked in the game. This is a true FIGHTing game.
Soul Calibur has the biggest Art Gallery I've ever seen. There are many enteresting warriors (that actually have back stories). My personnal favorite feature of Soul Calibur is its easy learning curve. I'm not very good with fighting games. This game is simple to learn. Its "easy level" is actually easy. You don't have to play the higher levels to see the character endings.
Yes, Soul Calibur looks, sounds, and plays well. I don't really care about that. This game is what all games should be about, giving you the most for your money. I can't recommend it enough.
