I'm not one of those people who like to rush through thier reviews, I wanna make sure I get my point out.
Now, Devil May Cry, ( reffered to as DMC) is from the creators who brought you the Resident Evil games that you spent countless hours playing. The game starts off as Trish walks in your store called, "Devil May Cry".
Wait, wait, wait. I shouldn't say, "walk", I should say, knocks down your wall with a motorcycle, into your store. She fights you and her sword ends up right threw your heart.
As you watch it you think maybe it's like a "Memento" thing. That's your death, and the game winds backwards, well it doesn't.
You pull the sword out of your heart and the wound heals. You learn that you got these powers from your Dark father.
Next thing, you know you enter a castle and the quest begins...
First off, DMC is in "intervals" or "missions" there are 21 missions in the game.
The reason this game does not get 5 stats despite being very fun is that the missions keep on repeating themselves. For instance, the first two missions require you to open a door, and the rest of the missions are very similar, and they all look the same, so if you hear the people say, "this game is too short!" To be honest with you, i would hate a longer game, the first 15 missions are fun, then the last 6 can be a bore. Also, the fighting is missing something, all you do his hack-and-slack enemies non-stop, and it can be boring fighting 20 enemies believe it or not. Obviously the DMC Team knew that the fighting may get boring because they added a multi-weapon attack system. You can use a sword and a gun at the same time. Also, you can switch guns, like use 2 handguns, or a shotgun, or a grenade launcher.
Despite some criticism in this review, the game is overall a good, solid game. I would take MGS2 over this any day, but if there are people waiting for Onismusha 2, consider DMC Onismusha 2, and Onimusha 2, Onimusha 3.
Cool.

Devil May Cry is a pretty cool looking game, I've gotta give it that. The visuals and also the sound mesmerise from the start. It's creepy, it looks cool and you get to run around a freaky old castle with a big sword and guns at the same time!
The plotline is minimal, don't expect much from it. It seems to get weirder as the game goes on. The dialogue does get a bit too much on the cheesy side sometimes, but plot and dialogue aren't what Devil May Cry is about.
The gameplay is excellent. If the idea of being a half-demon on a mission to save the world from evil and hack as many zombie marionettes as you can in the process is your thing, you'll love Devil May Cry. There are a number of different difficulty levels which become available after you've comleted the game, or certain points of it so if you need it a bit easier, or you want more of a challenge, you can adjust that. Above all the gameplay is fun. The harder you work on getting the controls mastered, the more impressive the moves you can pull off - and the game evens rates how good your moves were once you do them!
This game has a lot in common with Onimusha, (the comparisons get pretty obivous in the gameplay department in particular,) so if you liked that, you might like this. It's pretty much like Onimusha, only gothic and set in America!
Devil May Cry may be short (around 6-10 hours), the dialogue may be a bit cheesy, but it looks really really cool and it's a very fun game.
An incrediable game, but short

Devil May Cry is a great game, in almost every aspect. Although there are only a couple of enemies they are incrediably well thought of and hard to beat. The enemy files are also very cool I keep trying to get a full file on all bosses and enemies. The background is incrediable and the many weapons and moves are insane. The buying special moves is a great idea along with the devil trigger mode. The special missions and hidden blue orbs also add a great miniquest throughout the whole game. On my first try I only missed two secret missions and three blue orbs (out of 40 something.

If you are an expert in RPG game and don't want to waste some money, just rent this game!!
After Onimusha, this is the 2nd master piece that capcom has created. Everything is perfect, from the difficulties, enemies, items, missions, scenes, the thrill, everything is perfect!! But... there is one thing, this game is divided into 23 missions. Each mission can be completed not more than 45 minutes, there're a few missions that can be finished in 15 minutes. It is easy to complete the game without getting lost because the game provides a map that shows the detail of the location and it also gives you a hint where you should go in each mission. I finished this game only in 2 days.

Rent it instead, and save yourself the 45 bucks. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, it's just one of those games you can easily beat in one sitting even in 'Normal' mode. Awesome graphics and sound, sweet story line and mom will love the Underworld missions. However, from what I've seen of the upcoming titles at E3, this game pales in comparison to what game designers can do with the PS2
THE BEST GAME! BETTER THAN ONIMUSHA AND RESIDENT EVIL

I have the demo for "Devil May Cry" and it is an awesome game. I have never played a demo disc over and over again. That is until this one fell into my hands. There is so much attention to detail, you will be in amazement at beautifully the looks and plays. Not only are the graphics awesome, but the comtrols and gameplay are smooth as well. I think that it combines the best elements of the "Castlevania" and "Resident Evil" series put together.
"one the best action games ever"

For all you Final Fantasy freaks and Resident Evil enthusiests this is the game for you. It takes the best of both games and smashes it up into one nice neat little package. You get the adrenalin rush and the great shoot them back to where they came from factor from Resident Evil. And you get the intence story line and magic/sword wielding abilitys that all you Final Fantasty fans have come to know and love. Over all I would say that if you own a PS2 this is one game you cant do without.
