I have been looking forward to this game ever since i played the demo that came in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. I rented RE, and i played the Devil May Cry demo much more than RE:CV. I have now played the final game, and i can say that it is even better than the demo. The designers left some surprises in the finished game that were not in the demo. This game is really fun, but it is also very difficult. This is not a problem, however. It is also a very short game, so it has to have a lot of replay value. The ability to upgrade your skills adds replayability in itself. All in all, this is a great game. This game is what a 3-D Castlevania should be. Too bad that Capcom beat Konami to the punch.

Capcom has really outdone themselves this time, this game rocks! The graphics, sound, music, weapons and other feaures are great. The control can be a little awkward in a few spots but nothing major. Capcom has finally gotten away from their "limited ammo" kick with their Resident Evil type games. All the projectile weapons in the game have infinite ammo; dual pistols, shotgun, grenade launcher and the nightmare-beta. Get this game now!
Stylish within itself

This is easily one of the best action adventure games that I have played in a while with movie style story-telling. This game easily beats out Silent Hill and the Resident Evil series. Overall, this is a great game with good replay factor.

Devil May Cry may single handidily be the best strategy shoot 'em up gameplay ever. The game impresses me so much that I would reccomend it over even Metal Gear Solid. You play as Dante, a half human, half demon dude who in his spare time desides to save the world from the invasion of the underworld and its leader, Mundus. As you go through the game, you battle cool creatures that seem to appear everywhere, and give Dante quite a challenge. The controls and the combos you are able to pull of with Dante are simply amazing. He is probably the best character I have ever come across in a video game maybe with the exception of Snake from Metal Gear Solid. And that's a big maybe. The millions of things you are able to do with the variety of guns, swords, and magical powers you get in the game is thrilling and fantastic. Devil May Cry is the complete package. Everything about the game is perfect and it is a game that no religious video game player should be without. So, what are you waiting for? Let's rock, baby!
Very simular to Vampire Hunter D

Phone rings male voice "Devil May Cry"...
If you liked D in Vampire Hunter D, you love Dante in The Devil May Cry. There are many simularities and many diferences.
D uses a Sword, Dante too. They both explore a Mansion, use swords and hidden items. Both are human and sired by famous persons that aren't D, by the legendary vampire Dracula. Dante, by Sparda legendary Demon Knight.
As D you're hired to save a girl named Charlotte from a Vampiric Lord. As Dante you're hired by Trish, looks like your mother...or is she a?, and must stop the evil god Mundus from being reserected, oh by the way your father was the one who imprissoned him.
Basicly a Hack-n-Slash, Puzzle solving, Guns ablazzing fun filled good time. Get in to the mansion, get ambushed, kick but, get betrayed, kill the evil god, save the girl & fly off into the sunset.
Phone rings female's voice "Devil Never Cry"
Sequel?

It wasn't until recently that I put Devil May Cry on my list of "games to get." It had been getting such rave reviews from Gamepro to other (...) reviewers. I really was more interested in getting Silent Hill 2 and Soul Reaver 2, but since Soul Reaver 2 won't be out until next month I wanted to get Devil May Cry.
And boy am I glad that I did. I have read someone describe this game as kind of a cross between Castlevania and Resident Evil and I would have to say I agree with that. It's got a Castlevania feel to it which I say is a great thing. But don't get me wrong, this game is by no means Castlevania, but it might be just as fun as any game in the Castlevania series (yes even Symphony of the Night).
The graphics as said by others are incredible. But that alone does not a game make. The fluid game play, great controls, wonderful environments make for a great gaming experience.
The game itself is broken up into missions, but that does not mean that your freedom is limited. Even though it has distinct separate missions you still have the freedom to go back to older areas. Just because it’s a mission doesn’t lock you into going that way only. Now sometimes you won’t be able to go back, because some area might have gotten blocked off, but it’s okay, you will probably want to see what they have ahead for you anyways.
Prepare for time to disappear once playing this game. You get so engrossed into it you are not so eager to turn it off, which I find wonderful, because I know that I am having so much fun that I don’t want to stop. I find nothing tedious about the game and even restarting isn’t a bad thing, because you want to better your ranking (each level grades you on how you did) and collect more red orbs (money to buy power ups).
All in all I would say this is one of the most fun gaming experiences I have had in a while. It’s a game that that will entertain you and amaze you at the same time. And even though I like Silent Hill 2 a whole lot, I would have to say that this game is actually more fun to play. Hope I was some help to someone, take care and keep on gaming.
a ton of gaming goodness

let me put it this way,.....once you see the introduction you will be hooked. for the first 5 minutes it is a little slow but it helps you learn you moves (his moves are cool!)and once you find the arblast you can use you devilthing ya (wha ha ha ha). the game is a little bit just a very little bit tought though but still awsome. some enemey are hillareus. but dont let that fool you they pack a powerfull hit example are the bloody puppets. two little hints, if you are stabbed by a mysterius sword it does not always mean to hurt you and the little red balls heal you that took me a while too figure out. i do seriusely give the game two big THUMBS UP. in my eyes.
AWSOME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved Parasite Eve and other gothic-y horror games so this game was perfect for me. I loved the fighting system, so easy to use, and you could just wild out with it. Also Dante is an amazingly cool character, and whoever designed him deserves alot of credit. Definately highly reccomended, though I can't say the same for #2.
