This game had a great use of martial arts. There are 22 levels and each one gets more sophisticated it involves puppets that pop out of the ground, spiders and demons. What I enjoyed about this game is that the character Dante has many abilities similar to "Shadowman the 2nd comming". If you enjoy nerve wrecking games this is one of them, I greatly recommend it. Version number two will be out in January.

With so many action games out there, now with the advent of the 3 powerhouse consoles, its hard to choose which game you should spend your money on.

And with Devil May Cry now on the Greatest Hits list ... you have no reason to wait.

This is the very definition of action: furious gunplay and melee combat mixed with a dark gothic theme, all under a rich soundtrack composed of evil ambience and thumping machine gun techno bass. The gameplay is really something to behold, it is very fast, requiring you to wear out the buttons on your pad to get the movements right, but the control is dead on.

The graphics disregard the PS2's inability to handle jagged edges, and go out in full force. The palette is rightefully dark, and the models and levels ooze with intricate details. All this with a constant 60 fps with no slowdown. In short, it looks like a darn Xbox or PC game, which is saying a whole lot.

The listening experience is magnificent. Voice acting is good, sounds of ripping gunfire and monster wails are all great. The music adds to the fun; when exploring, you are presented with mostly soft, baroque-style music. And when battles occur, it kicks off into a massive techno breakbeat that is never old or cheesy.

I can really only say the storyline is shallow, but it just provides an evil backdrop for such a good game. Highly recommended.

This is quite possibly one of the best games i have ever played. The graphics kick, the battle sequinces rock, and the beats while fighting get me pumped. I love games that are actually challenging, the hard mode is exactly that HARD!!! there is also nothing more satasfying than pulling off a huge combo.
Thanx,

Devil May Cry is one the best games I've played in a very long time. This game is even better than Onishuma: Warlords!! The main character's name is Dante, and has not one but two guns and a very large sword has well. On top of all of that he can learn abiltites as well as turn himself in a demon called "Devil Trigger Mode"!! the controls are perfect so it's very easy to do Dante's moves such has slicing up enemimes or shreding them up with a muli-stab move similar to Link's move in Super Smash Bros. Meele, or even knocking the enemy in the air with your sword and then juggle them with your two pistols, resulting them been blown to pieces!!

Overall, Devil May Cry has to be one of the best games in 2001
I can't wait until Devil May Cry 2 comes out as well. I would definitely buy this game.

You should be CRAZY to hate this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game rocks! It is similar to Onimusha and some Resident Evils but it is a lot cooler. The graphics are also great, they stay at 60 frames per second throughout gameplay. I haven't had any jittery movements playing it. THe coolest thing about this game is obviously the fighting. You can slash a guy upward with your sword then blast him with either a shotgun, dual pistols, or a rocket launcher which comes later in the game. you can jump in the air, suspend yourself for a few seconds, then start firing away and jumping off walls with a downward strike to your enemy. I suggest you at least rent it, it's worth the ... bucks.

A MUST get game
