Although I am one of those gamers born and raised in the "Gamer age" of coin operated games, I continue to do so today. I am proud to see y young son get so much into games and characters that I group up with. Sadly some of the games that he plays are a bit too simple for me but this is one game that we the whole family can play. Even my wife who is not good at games tha much loves to play this game. we started by renting the game and then bought it after my wife could not stop playing this for the past five days of the rental. Nintendo has done a great job in mixing the Mario Party game genere in with a sense of level completion play as well. Unlock new characters and levels to play and add to the fun. This game has a high replayability level and it is dynamic play at that. Add to that the fact that all ages can play and the levels/games can be set to levels that everyone can have fun while playing. We have even started an intrahouse competetion and have mixed up the play buy having the various house members change their partners for "Game night." While I don; think anything can take the place of getting out and playing with the family together, I feel that MP8 does a really good job and having a fun game that the whole family can play together and that is priceless/.

I love this game! The graphics are a AAAA+! The chars are an AAAA+! pros and cons...
Pros:
1. Play as almost any characture in the nintendo universe (including sonic. HE ROCKS!)
2. The graphics are SUPER GOOD!
3. Games that i played (like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. at the part where Link pulled the sword outa the stone...) are pretty close the story at some parts
4. you can take it online (a feature waiting to be used by us:) )
5. Training mode allows you to get used to all of the charactures and see there final smash!
6. Multiplayer at the house is SO AWSOME!
7. Story mode is very fun, but a little hard. great vids in it though...
cons:
1. Rated T. Needs a E-10+.
2. It has Poke'mon? We cant play any of those chars.
3. You should NEVER have a gamecube controller connected when you play this game. it will go nuts trying to see what is going on.
4. Some of the people have AWFUL ATTACKS! Like, wario farts for his final smash.
5. It is very hard to inhale someone with Kirby.
So i give this game 5 stars!

This is a pretty good family game, my 8 year old daughter loves it and even my 5 year old can play it. It is fun to get a bunch of good characters together in one game and the graphics are great. I have not tried it out fully by playing online, but all the single player modes and the epic battle mode is great. Its definately a fun game to play and people of all ages can enjoy it due to the varying characters in it and shared game play.
Expansive game, tons of modes, online could be better.

This game is one without peer on the Wii system, definitely the most thought out, comprehensive, and time-less games available. The huge collection of mini-games, event battles, and the subspace emissary mode (akin to a platformer in the style of the original Mario Bros) make this game one that has tons of replay-ability and lots to explore. Having tons of in-game trophies and stickers to collect increases the fun. There are a lot of nice little touches in the game, like making the credits themselves a mini-game in the Classic mode.
The graphics really show off the Wii well, the control schematics are well thought out and the customization with different playing configurations is OUTSTANDING, allowing legacy controllers, nunchaku-users, or the Wiimote by itself to be used with decent accuracy and great flexibility.
The only part I was disappointed by was the Nintedo Wi-Fi Connection system. The connection was often slow and required quite a bit of waiting before players could be totally connected and Brawl. Also, there didn't seem to be any way to adjust game parameters in the Quick Brawl mode, meaning you're stuck playing the standard 2-minute brawl. While creating a room with a friend is a nice ability, there doesn't seem to be any way to connect or join other rooms out there. There also isn't any system in place (like a ladder or leaderboard) that can help people match up with players of a similar level. All in all, the online portion of this game feels like it's tacked on and almost an afterthought, with the features released without the final polish it deserves.
Granted, the game itself is already a stellar game. It is a great party game and very fun to play with friends. I just wished it was better for those times when friends aren't in the same room / location. Thus, due to the lack of polish in the online portion, I'm forced to downgrade the overall rating to a 4.
very fun game

Great game. Lots of options and extras. I had never played Super Smash Bros. before and I must say I am a fan now.
If you have never played SSB before, you will experience plenty of "WHERE AM I?!, which is my character?!!!!" moments which will discourage you to continue playing. It takes a while to get used to the gameplay and having so many controller settings makes it even harder. After spending quite a while of time figuring out and finding which controller setting fits you best the game starts becoming quite fun very quickly. My favorite controller type is the Gamecube controller. The Classic Controller is my 2nd choice because it does not have rumble feedback. The game does not implement audio feedback through your wiimote, so you won't be missing anything if you chose not to use it.

If you liked the previous titles in the series, then you will like this too. I was a little disappointed that the game doesn't use the motion sensors to play, it is just the basic button pushing just like the previous two games. The graphics are a little better than they were on Gamecube, but the game is still really fun. Brawl has a nice choice of interesting new and classic characters. Overall, I really do recommend this game. I play it with someone else all of the time and it is always fun.
Melee was better

First off, I will acknowledge the awesome things about Brawl. It's character selection is simply amazing in the breadth of games covered - everything from R.O.B. to Earthbound to Fire Emblem. Secondly, it's very nice to be able to choose what music plays on a specific stage. Thirdly, playing online is very fun and helpful if nobody is avalible to play with offline. And fourthly, being able to build your own stages is very fun. HOWEVER!!! There are some, in my opinion, serious steps backward from SSBM. First of these is the sheer quantity of one-hit-kill items. Even with the items turned to low, you're still almost guarenteed to see more than one smash orb per battle. While the smash orb IS one of the main things this game is known for, the smash attacks should be either toned down a bit or the orbs should be a bit more scarce. I remember one battle I was in with my brother and there were nine smash orbs. NINE. On a five stock battle, this basically turned into whoever got the smash orbs won. While they can simply be turned off, this is also not an ideal opition. It would be better, in my opinion, if they were simply a bit less powerful or harder to hit with. Second is Classic mode. Far from the random battles experienced during Melee Classic mode, Brawl's Classic mode seems to conform to a set formula (e.g. Battle 1 is always vs. Zelda characters, Battle 2 is always vs. Donkey Kong, etc.) Classic mode also removed all the interstages apart from "Break the Targets," taking out "race to the finish" which was, in my opinion, one of the best. A quick tangent on the Break the Targets - the custom stages for every character has been replaced with one base stage for break the targets, taking a lot of the fun out of using each character's specific skills to reach a certain target. A Third, well, not exactly problem, but thing that I don't entirely appreciate is subspace emmisary. While no one buys a Super Smash Bros. game for the single player, I think I am safe in saying that everyone plays it. Subspace emmisary takes away one of the main proponents of Super Smash Bros. - actual fighting - and relegates it to returning once per level, if you're lucky! Subspace Emmisary is largely an extension of Adventure mode in SSBM, but with less normal battles. Some people may like this, but for me, it just dosen't do it. Also, playing through subspace emmisary, in my opinion, introduces characters too quickly, although this is probably just me. It seems like in Melee, players were actually expected to do something in order to unlock characters (e.g. Mr. Game and Watch - Complete all characters target tests, or Falco - Complete 100 man Melee) In Brawl, you simply have to play through Subspace Emissary once to unlock all but three characters. While these faults are not enough for me to reccomend to someone not to buy the game, I think they do detract from the overall experience. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I think Melee was better.

This game is incredible. I don't really like the Wii, I'm more into hardcore gaming I guess, but this game is an exception. I love this game and always play it with friends. It gets intense and everybody kinda goes crazy. Great game and definitely recommended to all Wii owners
