Check out the smashbros official site to see the early development of this title. There are early screenshots, the origin of the game, a short trailer for the title, and an mp3 download of the new theme song.

New characters will include:
Meta-Knight (kirby's rival)
Pit (star of Kid Icarus)
Zero Suit Samus (original suit will also be available)
Wario (mario's evil twin)
Snake (Metal Gear Solid's hero)

Super Smash Brawl

If this game is anything like it's predecessor it will be a best seller. Super Smash Bros. Melee was arguably the best game made for the Gamecube, true games like Windwaker and others were awesome but SSBM had one thing that all the other games on the system did not, replay value. That's basically what the Super Smash series in known for, it was one of the first games made for the Gamecube, and a late release on the N64. I still play both games today. However, one problem has presented itself to Nintendo, that being how to properly utilize the Wii's controller with this game. This game will receive alot of hype unlike the one's before it, SSB and SSBM were both sleepers, games that quietly and subtly made their way onto shelves and were bought by a few people who told other people and it went from there.
This is a highly anticipated game that's where the problem with the controller comes in newcomers to the system will want to play this game with the new controller. Veterans of the game who play pretty competitively, such as myself, might want to play it with the classic controller. I have faith that Nintendo will come through as always but, there's always that slight chance of disappointment that one must watch out for. I have no doubt that Nintendo will work it out so that it will be an excellent game with both controllers.
Now that I've gotten the negative aspects out of the way I'll tell you what I know about the game. Several new characters will be brought into the realm of Smash this time the characters that we are aware of so far are Snake from MGS, Zero Suit Samus who sports a beam saber and pistol, the angel Pit, Meta Knight from Kirby's land, and Wario. I'm sure there are more hidden characters too, Sonic the Hedgehog was rumored to be in the last game Nintendo might have taken this to heart. Another visually amazing addition to the game is each character can unleash a unique super move, this deals a crap load of damage and looks awesome, some are pretty funny too.
The most recent character models were put into this game, Link looks like he does in Twilight Princess, Mario looks like he does in Super Mario Galaxy, and Fox has had a makeover too. From what I can tell levels have had makeovers, and many new levels have been added. I hope this answeres many of your questions and I'll make another review once more information on the game is released.

I know it hasn't come out and no one has played it, but how could this game NOT be awesome. New charactors stages and modes... this is easily my most anticipated game for the wii!

i know what you are saying without even playing this game i know it is already one of the best games that will come out for the wii. smash bros is the best. responed back to me if u are you live in wisconsin and you know where appleton is there is going to be a tournement there june 20-28 one of those days or responed just so i know you saw this message use in response to azna

Want it badly! Looks way better than super smash bros melee. I saw the trailer at Gamespot, and I fell in love with it instantly. As soon as it's on video game shelves, it's mine! MINE!

This game will be a hit. I've played and mastered "SUPER SMASH BROS. MELEE" so when this game hits the market I'll be there. On this game I could play for hours as I do with MELEE. The WII will be a hit!!

I hope Sonic is in it

They better have Sonic in this game because of Solid Snake.They have to add more non-nintendo game charectors like Pac-Man and Spyro the dragon.Smash Bros is a great singeries.I hope there making more in the future.I'm going by a Nintendo Wii someday.

This game is going to be freakin awesome... o and i got a good idea for the DS thingy too... Make it so you can go online and vs. people in different states and even countries!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a great game and will improve on the rest of the series and will feel completely fresh with its new controller. Super smash bros is the best selling and best fighting franchise made.
