This is one of the only games worth spending money on. I've been playing this game hours on end because it's so addictive.
Here are some things u should keep in mind.
Pros:
Great graphics
Nice gaming style
Good and sophisticated controls
Nice-looking and fast cars
How you can edit a car
Awesome levels and missions
Nice areas

Cons:
Rather cheap cars that you just add on to.
Impossible to take the car that you customized and made a lot better and play against a friend.
NO PEDESTRIANS AND NOT MANY NORMAL CARS THAT YOU CAN RUNOVER.

All in all, I think this game is really cool and its worth the money.
I don't, however, think that everyone will like it.
I strongly suggest u to rent it out or borrow it from a friend FIRST.
Add it to ur Xmas list>or just buy it.

This is a great game, the graphics are great, the controls are great, the customizible features are great the soundtrack is okay (except for lil' john and mystical there awesome)it's a perfect game. Except for one thing: the cars. Whatz ^ w/ these cars? I mean, in the previous one we had Prsches, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Mercedes, Lotus, and BMW. Now we have A PUEGEOUT? A CIVIC? A SENTRA, HYNDAIS????? Whatz ^ w/ that? I know everyone now likes the "fast and furious" cars, so i'll give u fast. Go put a civic, a sentra. a peugeout, and a mclaren in drag racing. who would win? the Mclaren DUH. awesome game

I loved this game, it was my absolute favorite but when i beat it, i finished with a crappy Lancer, and now i can't go back and get a skyline or a good car in underground mode. the reason why im mad at it is cause i race on line and now im stuck with a car with a few less stats. You'll see when you get there.(finish with a skyline) This game was great now i feel like busting it. (No good cheats eather)

I have always considered Need For Speed as the most brilliant Racing series along with Gran Tursimo , and actually the latest installment in the Hot Pursuit branch was simply amazing , and now the NFS returns to invade the illegal Racing Genre .

Filled with amazing graphics and astonishing cars details , the game deals witht the illegal racing , which is a new approach for the NFS Series , there is a lot of modified cars like the Turbo Charged Toyota Supra and the Mitsubishi Eclipse along with many other cars that will appear in the game , all modified,charged and guranteed to give you the ltimate experience of streets racing .

The upgraded engines means superpower for the racing , so the main point here is not planning to win the race but learning how to control the Vehicle you are driving because appearently any uncontroled move means plugging your vehicle in the nearest wall or car , and don't forget that the game are taking place in the streets , not in an isolated arenas like the previous games , the Developers of this game has recreated the Downtown Hongkong so you can enjoy the thrill of peeding through the various streets of the town , but be aware when you are using the NOS , because as you have seen it in the fats and the furious movies , your vision blurs and you almost can't see anything through the waterfall of colors surrounding you , so only the skilled players will make it to the end point .

NFS:UnderGround is coming with full speed to slice it's way through the PS2 world , and only the skillful players with patience will win the race .

N4SU is a great game. u can add unlimited customazation to the car. 1 thing i didn't like was the limited variety of cars. i would have liked 2 eventually work up to get a McLaren or a lamborgini or even a BMW but u could only pick from common cars like honda and ford. another con was the sensitivity of the throtte (i had to basicly push the button into the controller to reach a conpetable speed). yet another was the damgage. u could just tap a car while goin 30 mph and u'd do about 10 flips, and the cars would regain their composition and stay in the same place for u to hit them in the next lap. hopfully need for speed underground 2 will fix these problems along with getting a shorter name, making it the single best game i would ever play.

Need For Speed Underground is an overall okay game.Here are some pros and cons to this "so called game":
Pros)1:The cars are realllllly nice. Very realistic and fast.
2:The body kits are nice especially the Wide Body Kits.
3:Grapics are very good.
Cons)1:Racing: Very difficult in Career mode especially race 81.
2:NO FREE ROAM!!!
3:CRASHING! Traffic cars appear right in front of you and you crash.
Overall i'll give it 4. Very frustrating. If you like difficulty, you'll like this game.(TOOK ME FOREVER TO BEAT)

This is one of the best games I have played on the PS2. The graphics are awesome. But all I ever hear about is how NFS2:HP is better because you get chased by the cops, and you get all these really fast cars. But this game isn't about that. It's about making a car fast by winning. Nobody understands that if you had a Ferrari or McLaren and you were going to race it would really suck for everyone else, and that it is more realistic when you have to buy a car and make it better. I love this game it is definitely top 3.

just to tell you that if you are a fan of the need for speed series, this game will fit in PERFECTLY... If you are not a fan of the series (I mean going back to the 3DO), it's worth checking out...

ok first to start of i just want to say screw u people who are whining that it is boring with just civics and no lambos or porches if u want those cars play hot pursuit2 this is A IMPORT GAME but this game has everything u could want in a import/racing game 5 star graphics 5 star music 5 star sound 4 2/3 gameplay. the reason for the 4 2/3 if for me it was too easy in the beigiing even in hard mode but besides that it is the best racing game SO FAR i did like gt3 more than this in the tuning range but in gt3 that sound is so crapy i hope that gt4's V8's sound BIG and Bad not slow and clam.
