Not worth the money

I would wait for this game to go down in price to $20. It took an honest 9 hours to pass, and the ending was terrible, you would think that since the last one came out, it would take longer to pass. Best bet would be to go and rent the game for a rew days and not waste the 40 extra it would take to buy it, unless of course you enjoy playing and passing games mulitple times.

Wait for the fervor to die....

The Medal Of Honor series is the best historical game series on the market. From the experience I got from playing MOH: Frontline, I didn't think twice about buying this game. Unfortunately, I should've waited.

While the game was fun to play, it was incredibly short. The only bright side to the game is unlocking the historical and interview videos. They provided some insight and background information about the Pacific theater of WWII, but it wasn't enough to fulfill the FPS player inside of me. There is a deathmatch style setup and a co-op option which didn't seem fitting for this game.

I wish they spent more time and research into building a FPS storyline as intense as they're previous games. I shouldn't be able to finish a game of this caliber over the course of one weekend.

Bottom line... It's worth playing, but not for full price.

This game was not nearly as good as FRONTLINE. When you get shot, it takes away more health than necessary. Plus, the Japanese are excellent marksmen in this game (unrealisticly). I would buy a different game.

I received this game for Christmas, and was very happy because it was on my christmas list. However, my happiness turned to frustration after I actually played it. First and Foremost, this game is ridiculously short. It will take about 4 hours to complete it. Apparently we are supposed to overlook this fact because Rising sun is more "Story Driven" than previous MOH franchises and a sequel is to be released later this year. Secondly it is easy. Unlike Splinter Cell, or even the original Conflict:Desert Storm,I didn't feel like my intelligence or problem solving skills were challenged in any way playing this game.
EA must have realized how easy this game was late in the development and tried to fix and tweak some things. Most glaring is the near invincibility of the enemies you encounter. Most enemies need to be shot four times to die! Some even manage to make a full recovery after you nail them with a head-shot. This, however, doesn't make the game harder; there are so many Medkits and medicial canteens that you have a huge advantage over the enemies. The AI is also preposterous. At some points it seems like the Enemies are completely deaf , because when
you shot at soldiers right next to them they show no sign of recognition at all.
The graphics are fine, with nothing profound shown. A lot of press has been given to the elephant used in the game. I must say, that it is very impressive looking, but not worth the hype considering you are on it for all of 45 seconds of the game. The appearance of an elephant also begs the question: How does a OSS officer/marine know how to ride an elephant anyway? and Why does that seem to be a good strategy to him, considering how easy the fighting is in that particular jungle?
I will say that this game has one good thing going for it: the story. Previous iterations of the MOH Franchise have had pretty weak storylines. Perhaps in response to such breakthrough games like the GTA series and Splinter Cell EA has added some subtext to the storyline, utlizing a clever but sometimes saccharine "Letters from home" feature and more story elements to the gameplay. While the story is predictable, it will probably help to sell copies of the sequel. THe gameplay certainly won't
When Frontline came out, it more than lived up to its pre-release hype. (I remember playing the demo for the better part of a week) With all the hype surrounding Rising Sun, I was expecting the same thing and was severly disappointed. Releasing this game in its present form, and its impending sequel, is the highest act of greed that EA could perpetrate on the game buying public. Apparently, EA feels that we will buy two half versions of of an average game for a grand total of $100. Fool us once shame on you, fool us twice...

This a great game!!!

Dont listen to the people who say it is stupid and too short. It is a little short. But the levels are bigger and take longer to beat. It gets more involved in your family and you. You play as Joseph Griffin. A U.S. Marine. If u like war games you should buy this game.

Barely Average.

When I first started playing this game, it seemed really fun. Like when you have the machine guns and are shooting down the Zeroes. (It was a bit unrealitic in that you could shoot down 30 in a matter of about 5 minutes, but it was still fun.) Then, I got to the level The Fall of the Philiphines. I ran up to a Jap and started shooting at him. He shot at me back, but his fellow soldiers just stood there and looked at me. And when I had to reload, they waited for me, and when I had reloaded, they began to fire again. "Wow, this is stupid!" I thought to myself. The A.I. was so terrible that they sometimes didn't even shoot, much less work in a team. If you want a real war game, try Call of Duty or Battlefield 1942. Just save your money and don't buy this game.

My husband rented Medal of Honor: Frontline. I happened to be in the living room while he was playing, he was pretty frustrated with one level. He then left to play pool. I thought I might try it, recognizing this definitely was not my type of game, but what the hey!. Well, I not only conquered the level in a couple of tries, but I was hooked. Believe it or not I was a better marksman than hubby. We immediately went out and bought the game and have thoroughly enjoyed many marathon weekends playing. We firmly believe this new one will be as good if not better and can hardly wait.

I have to say this is the best war game ever, I mean who wouldn't want to play in a game based on world war II. I found myself on the pearl habour and then planes start bombing the ships, I quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out flames. I run upstairs and I guy gives me a gun and I start fireing at the planes. Not much different than Frontline but better than SOCOM II.

Rent it!

After playing and loving MOH Frontline for many many hours, I could not wait to get my hands on this game.
Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. Not that it's a bad game, it's not. It's just that in comparison to the last MOH game it comes up short. Gameplay is clumsy and awkward. The jungle folliage is frustrating to navigate.

It's obvious that EA didn't spend the time they needed to in order to work the bugs out.
I also agree that it's way too short and way to easy.

Play it, but rent it.

Great begining but then........

I always been a fan of the Medal of Honor games. That is why I couldn't wait to get this game.

The game starts off when Pearl Habor is bombed and the Japanesse planes bombing everything. You make your way to the deck of the ship your on and shoot down as many planes as you can. This follows with another mission where you have to shoot down more planes. The first time I played these first 2 missions they had to be the best of any game I have every played. I have played this missions over and over many times tring to shoot down more planes then I did before. The first 2 missions are almost good enough that you should get the game just to play that part or at least rent the game.

The rest of the game then going into the standard first person shooter that all the other Medal of Honor game have been. I you have played the other Medal of Honor game then you know what this game will be like.

The major problem I have with this game is that it is a little short. I took my time going through it so it seemed like the game lasted a goodamount of time but it is a short game. The reason for this is that the game is a two-parter. But that means $50 for this short game and another $50 for hopefully not another short game.

It's a good game but besides the begining there is nothing that is different from all the other Medal of Honor games that really stands out. If you don't want to spend the money to buy this game it is good enough to go out and rent.
