This is great arcade fun but it doesn't have the lasting effect that other games have. If your the type of person thats pleased easily then this is the perfect game for you. You get the chance to drive around 2 interactive courses which are both fairly big in size but after playing the game for more than an hour thay seem to get smaller and areas are visited over and over again. The comedy in the game is pretty good as the comments from the passengers that you pick up are often offensive. If you dont feel like picking up passengers then you have the option of doing crazy box mode this gives you a chance to compete against the clock in various mini games.

Overall this game is pretty good but it gets boring so if your looking for a game that you can play over and over again then this one is best avoided.

I hope this review has been useful to you. PEACE OUT!

Good Game Play And A Rousing Good Time!

Crazy Taxi is one of the most fun games for Playstation 2. Its not overly hard to play and the game gets straight to the point. Pick up your customers and drop them off at their desired locations as fast as humanely possible. Do whatever you have to do to get them there, run over lawns fly off ramps, hit other cars, whatever it takes. All the characters drive pretty much the same. The game play is a lot of fun and easy to master. This is one of those games you will think 10 minutes past but its actually 3 hours later. The single thing I think that they could improve upon (maybe in a Crazy Taxi 2 for Playstation 2) is the game should have some sort of Career Mode where you play an actual game where you can buy better cabs, get new streets to work etc.

I recommend this game to anyone who likes driving games and wants to have some light hearted fun.

A bit old but REALLY fun!!!

I just bought this game a couple days ago and I love it!! I'm a big fan of the arcade version and I think that this is better. The controls are a bit awkward at first but its preatty easy after a couple of minutes. A fun thing you can do is pick up a Mad Catz steering wheel controler and then it gets really cool. This game even though its rated "T" is fine for kids there are a couple of swear words but nothing too bad and you can turn the volume down so you really cant hear them.

Me and my little brother have had at least 6 or 7 hours of fun with this game. The learning time for it is mabye 20 minutes if you havent played the arcade version and 5 minutes if you have. Plus it has 2 towns you can play in the arcade town and the original one. My favourite is the arcade one. It really seems like San Fransisco but it doesnt give a name. (TIP: at the top of the hill pick up a passenger and he will want to go to the bottem so you can make some really sweet jumps.)

The cabbies are as follows:

Axel,A 21 year old man with green hair my little brothers favourite.

Gena,A 23 year old woman with red hair and is supposed to be hot.

B.D.Joe,A 25 year old man who is like a rapper type guy.

Gus,A 42 year old man hes my favourite and is really cool!!

The graphics arent the best in the world but thats probably because its a 2001 game. They are on par with the arcade graphics.

The only problem I have with the game is the music is awful its all heavy rock (i.e. look at my name) I mean the offspring isnt that bad but everything else on here is awful.

The final verdict is buy this game especially if you like the arcade version!!!

what?

I dont have a dc, but I have a ps2 and i cant wait for this game. I played this game in the arcades about a thousand times and I love it. As for all those people who say this game is gonna be the same or worse as the dreamcast version, they are wrong. There will be an extra town for players to explore and there will be something called a CRAZY BOX. THis Crazy Box will have a bunch(16 i think) of minigames or missions. You should definetly buy this game the first day it comes out, I know I am. I am really mad that this game was delayed for two weeks, but I will try to wait.

Good but not Great

As an owner of Crazy Taxi as of May 16th, I have some bad things to say about it. I bought it the day it came out and I couldn't be more disappointed. It locks up constantly (in 1 hour it locked up 7 times, each time it needed to be reset). Also, at times, the course (road, landmarks and walls) disappear, leaving you in a cloud of sparks and your passenger screaming at you. Now, you may be thinking after saying all these things that i might rate it terribly, but I haven't. Even with all this, it is still a fun and addictive game. If you love the arcade and DC game before this you will still enjoy this one. If for nothing else, this will whet your desire for Crazy Taxi 2 coming out later this summer for PS2.

Dumbest game you'll ever play

There is absolutly no point in this game. Don't make the mistake I did in buying this game. All you do is drive around in a stupid cab and pick people up and drive like an [nut] to their destination. You will not like this game.

I LOVE THIS GAME!

I cant wait untill Crazy Taxi comes out on Playstation 2 I have it on dreamcast and it is so much fun I play it every day. The Grafics are the best on dreamcast for craxy taxi, I cant wait it see how the grafics are when it comes out on Playsation 2. WOW! This will be a game to put on your wish list.

Just didn't do it

Again, another failed attempt at a racing game. Crazy Taxi gets boring really quickly and then you really have no where else to go and you end up bringing this one to your local Funcoland or Game Stop and trade it in for something else.

The graphics are excellent and for the 5 minutes that it lasts, the game is fun but as soon as that 5 minutes is up, I wouldn't count on anything else to expect in this game.

When will they come out with a racing game similar to Road Rash? Atleast in Road Rash, there's a lot more competition and you actually have to deal with the elements and environment around you. I can recall several times where I just drove across a park to get where I needed to go. Again, not very fun and an unfortunate thumbs down.

One of the best games ever!!

I really like this game with the 4 drivers and taxi's. Who ever likes cars would like this game. It was a great arcade game and it's even better for Play Station 2 because there are a lot more different things you can do on Play Station 2 such as unlocking bikes for the drivers. I highly recommend this game!
