I really don't understand what everybody is raving about. I went out and bought "Crazy Taxi" for Playstation 2 as soon as I had the money. After bringing the game home and playing it for 20 minutes, I asked myself, "What's the point of this game?" The player drives around taking people to their various destinations, trying to accumulate as much money as is possible. But what's the end goal I ask? To get an "A" driver's license rating? That's pretty weak. There are only four cars and two courses to choose from, rendering me bored after 30 minutes of playing. Furthermore, I thought that there was a two player option that would allow me to race against my friends. I was sorely mistaken. The graphics are good. I never played the Dreamcast version, so I can't make an accurate comparison. The various Crazy Driving moves are somewhat difficult to execute, but then again I am not a seasoned gamer. All in all, I own four Playstation 2 games (this, Madden 2001, Swing Away Golf, and 4X4 Evolution) and this is my least favorite of them all. If I had known what the game was like before I bought it, I would have waited for Crazy Driver 2 to come out to see if the creators can make some improvements

Game has some BUGS!

I got the game yesterday and I can already tell it has some serious problems. Something is wrong with the graphics: Your driving around and all the sudden the ground dissapers, you cant see the street only the other cars and people. Makes the game very chalenging and difficult; ruins the playability. I think this one is a RETURN to AMAZON!

Too many bugs... this shouldn't have been released

We waited a long time for this game to come to PS2. Who cares if it's just like Dreamcast... we don't have that console. But like several others have reported, this game is WAY too buggy to have been released, and I'm ashamed of Acclaim for taking money from consumers for an unfinished game. The road disappears constantly, which screws up your ability to play properly, and the game froze and had to be restarted twice within the first half hour of playing. It pretty much kills the potential of any fun this game could deliver. We'll be returning ours..., and I'd advise anyone to wait until these problems are fixed before making a purchase.

A great Blockbuster type of game.

First of all, I'd like to say that I've play both modes provided in PS2 crazy taxi before, on DC and Arcade. This is a great game. And you do not see another game like it. But I think a five day rental should be enough to fully enjoy this game. There are only two maps, one from the DC version and the other from Arcade. Both are huge, though. There can be quite some difference when you pick up different people. But that is almost it. You start in the same place and the destination of each customer is always the same. There are some extra fetures in it that you can practice some skills such as crazy jump and crazy drift. But these just summerize the entire game! The game is in a CD instead of DVD also make me believe that there are much more they can add in to it instead of rushing the game out just by putting the previous games together. My suggestion is that if you are a collector of all kinds of games. Get it! If you just want to have fun. Rent it and save the money for other games that are more a "Collectable". For example GT3, Metal gear solid, and FFX. So many great gems and so little money!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy taxi ventures to PS2 good or bad?

Well, Well, Well we got Sega now making games for Sony's PS2? Shinobi launched it's ship on the path of the PS2 and so did a whole lot of other games as well. This game was tons of fun on the Dreamcast, but wasn't well known because of the dreamcast so it was reborn for the PS2 and it is even now a greatest hit. It's a very cheap game (Hell, you can even buy it brand new for 12-15 bucks.) So lets get down to business. . .

Gameplay - I got to give gameplay a solid 8. If you think about it, for crazy taxi it's above average. The gameplay is quite fun, but it needs more modes. Hey wait a minute, it has 2 different career modes and about 16 mini-games if you count the hidden ones as well, but I felt the game needed a little more and I know I am not the only one who felt that way.

Graphics - The graphics I would have to give a 9 because it was pretty good graphics. There was so much color and brightness that sometimes when I played it in the dark it hurt my eyes! (I think it was just my eyes). The graphics might be a little improved from the dreamcast version.

Sound - I give sound a 6 because it only has 2 soundtracks in the whole freakin' game! Offspring and Bad Religion! I mean come on if you want to make a good game you got to throw in alot more good tracks than 2 songs. (Ofcourse I am not dissing bad religion or offspring becuase I have all their cd's). If Sega someday makes a sequal on the PS2 please let them add alot more songs to crank up the volume to!

Controls - Controls I am giving a 8 because even though they were pretty solid, they were way to solid! You could easily turn way to sharp and it was pretty unrealistic on the control part. Gas is usually x for PS2 and reverse is usually either square or circle, but the controls you get are I think R2 gas and L2 reverse, but you do have the option of changing it in the option menu so where you have it gas is x and reverse is whatever or so on to your liking.

Overall - I would say rent it because if you buy it you'll play it for maybe like a week then never play it again unless like a rainy day or something.

If you've never played a crazy taxi game go ahead and give this a try, but it gets old quick. If you've played 1 2 or 3, then youve played them all.

This games fails to disappoint the hords of people that did not purchase the dreamcast. But those who baught the SEGA system should not purchase this game again even though there are improved grafics compliment of sony's blue powerhouse. So all in all you should get the game, but one thing remains to be seen should you save your money and wait to buy the Crazy Taxi 2 if it ever comes to PS2. Well with eather one you can't go wrong because they both contain music from the best band in the world, THE OFFSPRING!

You have to buy this really awsome game!!!

I think that this game is a great game for the whole family!
It is a fun game to play with your friends, even though there is not a multiplayer mode. I borrowed the game from a friend and I played it for hours. It may be kinda confusing for younger players because the 2 levels a big and take a while to explore. I was confused because I could not find a place the first time I played the game. Even though I got the game only a week ago it is a great game. If you are an adult and planing on buying this game for a child there is no need to worry about language or other things not suitable for kids. I can't wait for Crazy Taxi 2 to come out on PS2!
