Awesome graphics and non stop fun!

If you love great graphics, you'll be blown away by this game. Just step in a pool of water and you'll be amazed on how real the ripple effects of your movements are...and that's just the beginning! Each level is meticulously detailed. Whether your exploring wine cellars or the mine shafts, the decor will make you stop playing just to admire the attention to detail. I'm a Gauntlet and Halo fan with a bias towards RPG's. If you are too, you'll find this game immensely entertaining. I found the controls to be easy. My learning curve was relatively quick. I'm glad I bought this game and if you like Diablo, Gauntlet or Halo, you'll totally love this game!

Great game! Diablo comes to the PS2

This game plays very much like Diablo for the PC. It is a PERFECT rental game! Not one to really spend $...on, but one that you can beat in a few days...
The good: Great storyline, awsome graphics/sound, lots of different weapons and armor, moves along at a great pace(not too hard, not too easy), lots of different surroundings, does not get boring.
The bad: Only 3 character classes to choose from, the game is a bit too short.
Rent it! Or buy it if you want, its a great game!

Awesome!

Great play! Similar to Diablo PC but much better in a console. I also like the cooperative play. Hope this is not the last.

Very fun - a cross between Gauntlet and Diablo

Fun gameplay, great graphics and sound, smooth framerate. Looks like a beautiful 3D game, but has easy control of a top-down 2D game. 2-Player cooperative mode is very fun, grab someone to play it with you. I thought it was going to be a port from the big PC game(s), but it's been custom made for the console. Very well worth it, and one of my favorite games to come along in a while.

Like Gauntlet meets Diablo

BG:DA is well-worth the money. It's gameplay, graphics, and sound are amazing. I was expecting a port of BG from the PC, but they custom-taliored the game for the PS2. The 2-player cooperative mode is a blast, if you have 2 people that like to game together. It's beautiful, and has lots of nice touches. I whole-heartedly suggest checking this title out!

This game was short but hella fun

Having never played the computer version i was a bit reluctant to try this game, but I'm glad i took the risk. This game was really fun. The only problem was the lack character classes and customization and the short lenght of the game. It only took 10 hours for a friend and i to beat this on 2 player. I will definatly buy the second game in this series when it comes out. I think it would be grat if you could import your characters from the old game in to the new one to continue the adventure. I just hope the second one is a bit longer and will let you customize your characters.

Beautiful, but way too short

I love this game BUT beware that the game can be completed in under 10 hours. I had very little difficulty in every stage of the game. The game is designed to help you win (which is nice) instead of knocking you down over and over (which is challenging). I just wish it would have been a little more difficult and A LOT longer. Still, very pretty to look at and a must-buy if you're into the D&D stuff.

In the car coming home from renting this game I was pumped. I had read all of the online reviews about Dark Alliance I could get my hands on and they all fuled my fire to make the drive over to blockbuster. I [raced through] this game. I sat down and just destroyed the thing in a matter of three days. Looking back, i was not that impressed. Half way through the second act, i wasnt inspired to play the game anymore, i just wanted to get my moneys worth. This game would be great for someone who gets satisfaction out of a shallow, combat based RPG like Diablo. The combat is more point and click, and the towns you visit (only three mind you) consist of one interactive building each. So, if you want something that wears you fingers out but keeps you mildly entertained in the process, rent, dont buy, this game.

p.s. there are only three choices in character, and you dont even get to name him/her for God sake.

Thhe best Game
