So, I therefore gave the game a five star rating, based on it's fun factor. It deserves six, but in the long run, the game is a bit short. On the counter, the game is arcade based and meant to be played in a 'one to two seater session'. So you could argue both points and be right. The game is WORTH BUYING PERIOD and that's what these review are for. I love and have beaten every Baldur's Gate and Bioware game for that matter. This is a nice adaptation of Bioware's product into a arcade style game. The game only gets better after you complete the Gauntlet and unlock DRIZZT DO'URDEN, creation of R.A. Salvatore! Go buy all his books NOW! THEY RULE!

This game has some good graphics but it is all done in a day.

How they got away with this is beyond me.
I can only think that they are creating games for the rental market. One nights rental and you're done.

If you play PS2 games you will love this! This type of game is very simalar to the final fantsey RPG games. personaly this is the best PS2 game I ever played.there is a total of 3 levels all extermialy challenging.

aside from the obvious spectacular things about this game, this is a 2-player compatible action/rpg game <-- GAME DEVELOPERS TAKE NOTICE!!!!! we need more of these. buy this game right now or you will regret it!!!!!

diablo-like hack and slash /good game

I have played 2 of the 3 acts and it has taken about 7 hours. based on that the total game should take about 12 hours. you can replay using the other 2 characters.

pros: graphics look good
good hack and slash

cons: too short
the game gets really slow during fight scences with a couple of characters in act2.

This game has no intense. It's boring to trip simple areas.
There are huge deference between PS2 and PC game.
I'm looking forward Diablo2 on PS2.I've always disappointed translated console games from PC game. Please make same quilfied games as PC games

i recently purchased this game because i absolutely LOVE the Baldurs Gate series on the PC. it is only a shame that they will not be making anymore for the Pc. anyway the only bones i had to pick on this game is the fact that for me it is a tad bit short. there are three chapters and true they are long but still i think they could have added a bit more. the game is involving and fun. hopefully they will continue the series for the ps2 and add a few more chapters and character. i reccomend this game to all who like either the computer series or rpg's.

Brings me back to my D&D playing days!

A great game with a very interesting storyline. Unfortunately, it is a bit shorter than what I wanted, but I can start again and try the other two characters right away.

The combat situations (and there are a lot of them!) were awesome. There's nothing better on a bad day than to hack and slash through a pack of goblins! The play control was great. I could shift weapons and change spells without going through a menu system and I could control the view most of the time. Seems like it was easy to pick up and play, as well, with a minimum time looking through the instructions.

The graphics and sound were pretty neat, as well. The characters are well-designed and the small details (moving through water, breaking barrels, etc.) are well done.

Wish it was longer, though. Hopefully, a sequel will emerge.

This game is just plain fun!!!!

I bought this game without seeing it or even reading a review about it. That is something I rarely do but it wasn't that bad of a price and I was ordering some other stuff and I love D&D games. Well I wasn't disappointed. I didn't expect much of anything from this game and so I was more impressed than someone looking for a classic Baldur's Gate game. I have the computer version but haven't played it yet and I knew this would be nothing like it. The first time I popped it in I didn't stop playing for like 5 hours. It was just fun. THe battles are crazy and the graphics are very good especially when walking through water. A few knocks on it are the camera which is kinda far away and can be awkward at times especially in massive battles (You tend to fight like 10 or more enemies at once in a big swarm and it is hard to see who you are hitting.) I haven't tried a magic user yet only the dwarf and it is just pure enjoyment. If you are looking for classic RPG deep story or non-linear gameplay stay away cause this game has a simple story and pretty much forces you in one direction. It reminds me a lot like Vampire Redemption for the PC. The controls are easy and the level up system is nice and just like Vampire since you can control how your character levels up instead of just predetermined stat boosting. Only problem with this system is if you plan wrong your character will suffer later. One thing I didn't get was what the developers were thinking when they put thos stupid Mega Man like floating boulders over pits that sunk when you landed on them. Aside from looking stupid those parts were just terribly frustrating but passable. It's sad to say but for the type of game this is I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for those ridiculous things. But all in all if you like a good action game like Maximo or Jak and Daxter but with a darker D&D twist then go for this game and even those hardcore RPG fans may like this game as a vacation from complex plot lines and massive hours required to complete a game. GIve it a try it is fun and worth it.

I seems like every game you buy is a gamble now - despite what reviews say - everyone has preferences and everyone expects something different. If you read the reviews here - you'll see that everyone liked the game - and enjoyed it despite either not liking the genre or the lenghth or the replayability..

if you want a game to last a long time - play on the hard setting...

now the question to ask yourself when looking to purchase this game is -

WILL I PLAY MULTI-PLAYER? - if the answer is yes - then consider owning this game.

Am I tired of games you play and play and play and feel like you never get anywhere? if the answer is yes then you want to consider owning this game -

The game is short which means every time you play you feel like you accomplish something - which for an adult gamer - it is very important.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit - i am an adult gamer with little time to enjoy games and i don't concern myself with cost so much -

if the game lasts 10 hours. divide the cost by the hours spent playing - then decide if it is a good deal - most games are....

this is a good game - the graphics are the best i have seen for ps2 - even though newer titles are out - the rendering is smooth and the framerate stays constant-even with multiple enemies on the screen in 2 player mode -
