I would just like to say that while this is one of the best Star Wars games to date, and one of the best rpgs, there was something disappointing about it. It was pretty cheesy all the way through, but I will play it again and again. As for best RPG on XBOX that title would have to go to Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Star Wars should have taken a page from their book, mostly for its open-ended gameplay. And now the Morrowind Game of the Year edition, which includes content from the two pc expansion packs, is out on th box.
This game rocks

This is one of the best Xbox games i've ever purchased. This game is fun and replayable. It is the first xbox game i've finished and immediately restarted playing. After finishing this game as a good Jedi, I had an incredible urge to go back and play it again as a Dark Jedi.

Well, it sure beats the latest Star Wars installments on the big screen (not that that's hard). It has a deeply intriguing storyline full of crucial and intelligent twists and subtext. An escalating chain of action and dramatic events, well-spoken bold and ambitious characters whose personalities, motives and inter-relations develop further into the game. A unique form of interaction, decision making and battle sequences. The exploration and gameplay is similar to the Final Fantasy with a few updated differences. You often see when an enemy approaches and the auto-pause feature makes it easy to plan your attack and make spontaneous decisions. The more you fight you earn power-up points which you can apply to whichever skills you feel will be most beneficial in your mission. You pretty much have control over everything that happens in the game and you have to face the consequences and results to the decisions you've made. It's highly addictive and more of a fantasy/sci-fi rpg than a battle game. I am very surprised with this game. I was somewhat discouraged and reluctant to play any part in the consumerism of the whole modern Star Wars franchise due to my absolute disappointment in anything Star Wars related over the past few years. It all seems to be about superficial contemporary eye-candy, sex appeal and the rest of all the cliched Hollywood marketing gimmicks rather than staying true to the original concept and storyline. This, I must say, is the best Star Wars thing that has come out for a long time. It's simple, clever and intelligent in the same style as the first Star Wars trilogy.
Good xbox title but flawed

I'm not much of a star wars fan--my love for the movies having been dampened by the recent films. Knights of the Old Republic is a good rpg for the xbox game which should be enjoyed by any star wars fan. IMHO it is no where as good as Bioware's Baldurs Gate series--lacking that games depth, variation, and length. This is a console rpg which I do not think will do as well on the pc unless it is fleshed out more. None the less it has fine voice acting, a good story line, and some of the environments are beautifully done. The biggest problem is that there exists a number of game bugs which force one to have to reboot, along with limited character models (talk about "attack of the clones"),not to mention that there is a level cap which prevents you from attaining high levels as a jedi (if I remember correctly--being that I rented it, the level cap is around 20th level which, since you are fixed as a dual classed character, means that you can at best attain level 14-15 as a jedi. (I completed the game as a level 9 soldier/ level 11 jedi.)

This is one of the best games I have played in years. The closest I can compare it with is directing your own movie. Well worth the price, but only if you can spare the hours to play it, as the game is adictive.

this game would of easily gotten 5 stars if there wasn't so much pausing. when i first got the game, i was a little unsure because i don't play rpg's all that often and didnt know how much fun it would be. i also am not to big of a star wars fan, but i have to say this game is amazing. you start out as either a soldier, scout of a scoundrel or something like that. picking what you say is awesome.you can became light or dark. after a little while you get to became a jedi with force powers. everything was going great until i was wait at one of the many load screens when the game froze. since this has happened one or two times before i thought nothing of it. then it kept happening
and it was really annoying. at one part it paused about six times in a row. has this happened to any body else? aside from that it's exellcent and extremly addictive. the constant load screens can be annoying though. lots of side activies (swoop racing, dueling, pazark etc.) i recommend it if you have even a little interest in star wars of rpg's. also you will need alot of patience.

this is my new favorite game for xbox. i'm a good 20 hours into the adventure, and my guess is that i'm close to halfway through. the great part of this game, is 1: the really cool real-time yet turn-based combat, and i love queueing up lots of force powers and lightsaber attacks and then watching my characters execute them. the graphics are nice, though it has a few problems. the other awesome part of this game is how you get to decide what you want to do in the game, and how you do it. for example, the sand people on tattoine are causing trouble, and you're set to get a bounty on them by getting the cheiftan's staff. you can do this by sneaking in using sand people clothing that you pick up from a dead sand person (the neutral way), use a droid to translate their language and negotiate with them, or just kill them all and pick the staff from their bloody ruins. it is great how no matter what you choose, you can go through the game, but every decision will make a difference in how others see you. you play this game the way you want to play it. want to be a war hero, and flirt with characters throughout the game, you got it, even gender can change a few things in the game. you can persuade people to avoid conflict, make compromises, or just mow down everyone in your path. i certainly want to play this twice as dark and then light to see the different paths
If you are a Star Wars fan you have to get this game!

This game is not everything you would expect from a lucasarts game..it's good! Actually it's better than good, it's fantastic!
The storyline is, in my opinion what carries the game (as they should in all rpg's). The story was better than the ones in both new movies. This game got me interested in playing rpg's again.
The graphics come out well especially on the characters, they express emotions and when they talk, their mouths follow the dialoge. The settings are done as you would expect them to be in the star wars universe, I found myself anxious to fully explore everywhere.
The sound is top notch, as in most lucasarts games especially the alien dialog from Hutts to Rodians to sand people (love those sand people!)
I found myself wanting the game to last even longer than it already is (at least 35 hours to beat) and i will be playing it again this time as a dark side sith.
I can only hope they will make a sequel and that it comes out sooner than later. If they make it for the xbox 2, well then I'll just have to pick one up.

I've been playing video games since they were invented. I've had just about every home video game system ever produced. And I can tell you without any hesistation this is the best home based video game ever produced!!! I'm not a fan of RPG's but this game is in a class all by itself! From content to game play it is outstanding. Once you get into the game you will lose sleep, you will bleed from the eyes, and someone will have to pry the controller out of your hands. It takes between 40 to 60 hours to complete this game (depending on how many side missions you take on, gambling, and how much racing you chose to do). I played this game all night on two weekends, 14+ hours at a time, the game is that good! I have never played anything this fantastic before! GET THIS GAME!!!!!
