This is a fantastic product. The story line is compelling, the character development intriguing, and the twist and turns thrilling. This is a memorable game that holds up very well even years later.
AWESOME!

If you have not played this game, then you are hurting yourself. This game is easily one of the greatest games of all time. I bought this game when it first came out because of the Star Wars names. I was expecting to Leia, Luke, and Han...They are not in this game and honestly, I am happy for that. I found myself wishing that this game was somehow turned into a movie...Actually, it does play out like a movie because the cut-scenes are mini-movies. This game has tons of replay value, I beat it in about 53 hours the first time, but I missed half the items and quests...The second time took me about 61 hours and I still missed a lot. The third time took me over 70 hours and I still think I missed a lot of items. (It took so long because I didn't use players guides) My friends used players guides and beat it in about 33 hours.
This is a great game and you are not helping yourself by not playing it.
KOTOR is my favorite game! Thanks BioWare

KOTOR is my favorite video game ever! I was not really into RPGs before this game, but now they are my favorite type of game. The storyline is my favorite part of the game. The twists and turns are so much fun and surprising! BioWare really did a wonderful job with game. Carth is one of my favorite characters ever (along with Sky from another BioWare game, Jade Empire). The fighting system is easy to use. I love that you can pause it to give your orders to everyone else in the party. This is the best game, and I can't wait for BioWare to do KOTOR 3! 2 was good, but not as great as the original! I have played this game through 6 different times, as a male and female as each of the class types. I have also varied being light side and dark side. It really does make an interesting and different story each time I've played it through. Get this game if you don't already have it!
Totally Sweet

KOTOR has all of the expected RPG elements (though a little more linear then Morrowind) mixed with some really exciting Star Wars elements.
Lots of cool choices for character development, side quests, conversation choices (and dialog all-together). The environments are very scenic. Performance is very good - not much time spent loading and saving.
The only thing that might turn some people away is the combat mechinism. The combat is "real time", but it is also "turn based" -very cool. Once I understood it, I loved it. Typical FPS fans (who live and die by HALO/Outcast/Unreal) may not like the combat mechnism. Any old D&D fans are bound to go "gaga". ... That said...I totally recommend!
GREATEST GAME EVER!!!

This is without a doubt the greatest game ever made! Not only is the gameplay well beyond excellent, but the story developed throughout the game is a tribute to the star wars series. This game fully imerses you into the Star Wars universe; unfortunately, there is one drawback, once you get into this universe, you may never want to leave. Yes, this game is highly, highly addictive. It took me 41 hours to complete this game, and with the mini-games, I can see how it could take quite a bit longer; not to mention the fact that I completed the game in under three days (I said it was addictive). This game diserves more than 5 stars, much more. If anyone involved with developing the game is reading this, make another! Please don't make me beg!
My thoughts on Knights of the Old Republic.

My personal feel is that the levels and the missions should have been longer, the missions I breezed through. I felt that the fighting part of the game, the player could have been more involed. Instead of pushing a button, I could have moved the anolog stick aroung to do different attacks. Over all this was the bset Star Wars game to come out for a long time.
Rent me first, love me later

I played this on the Xbox and found the graphics to be quite detailed and surprisingly engrossing. I liked the flexibility in character selection and gender. I personally am sick of the games that tie gender to class (think Diablo 2) without clear rhyme or reason.
For me personally this game reminded me of Planescape Torment. The focus on quests and the general linearity of activities. The fast movement feature allowing you to jump from area to area was very helpful. Also, I liked the linkages to the SR20 rules and character development approach. More classes to choose from would have been nice, but the 3 basic classes each worked well.
As a rental, I was very happy with this game. I will be renting it again (couldn't finish it in 5 days) or buying it used in the next week or so.
If you love the genre at least rent this game and give it a spin :)
The only thing bad is combat

I bought this game as soon as i heard how much chices you had. Building a charecter, as well as your own light saber having two sabers or a double i thought awesome. I bought it got it home and played it all night. The only thing i found lacking in this game is the combat system. If they would have canged that then it would have gotten a five from me. It took me about 23 hours to beat. But that is letting the game sit idle while i go off and do things. I recomend this game to anyone that loves star wars and can handle a bad combat system.
