finally a star wars rpg iv been waiting a while but my patience has paid of with this gem of a game. players start of in ship thats being attacked by a dreadful sith lord called darth malak as players move through the game they connect with the force and find new characters for there party.kotor has a dynamic story with a giant twist @$%& are revan.the sound is offical star wars orchestra which gives the game an extra ommph. Its very lengthy at about 50 hours first time with all the side quests done. this is the greatest star wars game ever created it leaves jedi academy for nothing this really is another starwars gem

I don't give this game 5 stars because I think a game would have to be just about perfect in order to merit that response. I will say this, though, it was a very solid game, and very enjoyable.
You are tasked with nothing in this game, other then deciding your own fate, and destroying the Sith lord, for better or worse. The cut scenes are VERY good with a lot of great graphics and fairly decent conversation. Game play tends to lag though, as some very important battles are fought immediately after long cut scenes, sometimes resulting in you having to go back and replay a long scene, if you die.
The premise of the game is "you make the choices" and decide your own path, via dialog boxes. While allowing you to make two completely different adventures, the game some what Shepard's you along, in the old "Dragon Warrior" sense, not truly allowing you to create a completely independent path like "Morrowind".
This game as far as RPGs goes, seemed fairly short to me (I beat it in under 40 hours game time). Most RPGs usually take me about 90 to 100 hours and several months to beat. That may indicate that I also enjoyed the game play very much.
This game will test your problem solving skills with puzzles, mathematical equations and combat strategy more then any game before. It also lends itself to be slightly leaning to the easy side, as you can put three Jedi in your group at any point, and easily over power any opponents you come across.
I'll shelve the game for a few months, maybe play as a "dark" character. For now though, I would recommend it to any Star Wars fans of fans of RPGs that need problem solving skills.
Great game

Anyone looking to find out about the game, I strongly recommend it. I am generally not a fan of the RPG genre, but I picked it up because of the hype, and I had yet to play a Star Wars game on Xbox worthy of the title. I was very impressed. While it started out a little slowly, it gave me time to learn the basic gist of the game. By the time I got the idea, it dropped me deep into the Star Wars universe, and really kept me into the action. I think it's one you won't want to put down.

imagine that suddenly you are submersed into a starwars galaxy. You're ship wrecked and the sith breathing down your back. They kill ruthlessly. You can fight them. You can join them. You can rob and murder. Or you can protect and let live. Wether you do this with your trusty lightsaber or two, a blaster or a double bladed sword this game is addictive. It's stunning graphics when combined with the imense number of possibilities let you forget that it's only a game. Yes this game is a console RPG. as a result I was wondering about buying this. I personaly hate most console RPG's. They have always bored me. But this game has an interesting solution. Realtime combat allows both fans of RPG's and people like me to enjoy this emence inverment.
Graphics 5/5
In my opinion far superior to halo's. With its eye catching lightsaber effects and life like envirments whats not to like.
Sound 5/5
With starwars you dont need to worry about soundtrack as far as music. The voice acting is like noneother and its hours of recorded conversation. This games sound couldn't be better.
Gameplay 5/5
Alright This is where I can see some people not liking it. It's not Halo. It's not GTA. For me it's better than both. For others it could be a snooze fest. Iv'e always liked pc RPG's. I can't recall how many pointless hours Iv'e spend leveling up my perfect barbarian in Diablo II. So maybe I'm not fair in this area by giving it five stars. I love the game play. As a bonus you get to race swoops and gamble with card games.
Replay value 5/5
What needs to be said. you can play it once as light once as dark. Once with side quests. Once without. Once with two lightsabers. Once with a double bladed one. This is such an emense world you can play this for years on end and still miss some things.
Overall.
If you arn't going to rush down to your local store right now and pick it up or order it. I beg that you rent it and play for more than an hour. If you don't like it then, I fear you are not a gamer or are really strange.

This game is so great you don't even have to like STAR WARS to love it! Once you start to play you can't put it down. You can play it over and every time do things completly different. I think this game is a mut have;)! The charaters you meet up with are great and can add extra plots to follow.
i love i can't put it down

this is one the best games I have ever bought, the combat is extremely addicting, the storyline is great, and the graphics are fair enough to get the job done! my only complaints are the frequent loading times and that my game was messed up (but i sent it back and got a new one free), if you like star wars and RPGs, this game is a must

If you're an RPG fan at all, this is THE game. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, the interface of this game makes it one of the most entertaining games I've ever played. I played through it in a little over 32 hours (I'm thorough to a fault), so it's not long. But I've already started through it a second time, and even before I start making any light/dark side choices, the game is playing differently than my first adventure. The graphics are very good, the ambient music and sounds are strong, and the sense of humor applied is excellent. Not to mention this takes place some 4,000 years before the movies, it fills in the histories of the Republic and the Sith wonderfully.
This is a great game! This could be the game that sets the standard for RPG's for years to come.
