Resident Evil fan heaven!!![.]

This game is probably the most intense game I have eveer played.I got this game about a week ago and i am addicted!

GRAPHICS:the grapics are amazing it has dazzling lighting effects and the characters (and zombies) are greatley detailed.

CONTROLS:the controls are pretty smooth once you get used to it but it may take a few mineutes to learn the controls.

MUSIC:the music and sound effects are impressive like when you enter a new room you will hear very errie music which is creepy but other RE games have a little more to offer.

GAMEPLAY:okay this game will scare the [pooh] of you!You neaver know whats behind ever corner and new room.

FUN FACTOR:this game is very entertaining ,every second is suspensful and fun.

REPLAY VALUE:the replay value is pretty good you have 2 characters to choose from with a slightly differnt story so if you beat it with one character you still have the other.But if you beat it once with both characters it is not as scary.

BOTTOM LINE:this game rocks nuff said.

Scary as hell, but fun.

This game is fun, exciting and challenging. It has new rooms, creatures etc exclusively for GameCube. But this game will scare the hell out of you. I promise you that you will get goosebumps will playing this game. Buy it though along with the other Resident Evil Games that are coming out.

I am a 15 year old gamer. I got this game for christmas with a game cube. And i am very dissapointed. Frist of all the graphics of the game are very good. But this is not the scariest game ever made. If you want a scarer more fun game get Fatal Frame for ps2 or x box. But anyway the game play in this game is more boreing than fun. To move the character is more difficult than anyother game i have ever played in my life and is very dumb. You can only carry i think 6 items with Chris. And you have to find the savepoint a typewriter than to save you have to find ink. All you do is go around opening doors sloveing hard puzzles to open more doors for what to find a dumb zombie going weeeeeeeeeeer. Dumb dumb dumb and very boreing it is not even a little scarey compared to fatal frame. Maybe this games grows on you or maybe people have not played a good horror game like Fatal Frame. I chose to sit and watch my brother play "Mario Sunshine" ontill I get a new game for my little cube.

An amazing addition to the RE series.

Resident Evil on GameCube would have to be my all time favorite game; the graphics are bloody fantastic, the music is eerie, the voice-acting is actually really nice, and the storyline is pretty much the same as the original PlayStation title.

"Remake or Rehash ?" i hear you cry !!....

Well...its a lot of the former and a little of the latter!!

First off ill defend giving this superb Resident Evil (Resi) game 5 stars...basically it all boils down to it being a 'flawed masterpiece' !!
Yes - the movement of the characters is still abit clumsy (you tend to run into stuff alot...and you will be running...believe me....lol !!) and yes - i know the series took a while to move on much from the basis of the original (see my Resi' 'Zero' review for news on that front !!).....but all said and done theres still nothing to touch the Resi series on style, story, atmosphere, and 'edge of the seat' tension (and that includes Silent Hill - although they are good games and i look forward to Silent Hill 3 ).

You see in Capcoms world of 'Survival Horror' it all just works so beautifully and - personally - i would hardly change a thing. Just give me new versions (and more of them) complete with new stories, plot lines and characters (including cute ones like Rebecca and Jill) and Im a happy Zombie Basher!!
I cant wait for the Online Resi' to arrive - although why its planned to be on the PS2 ( i have one - dont worry!! ) is beyond me (anyone know??)

'Zero' may have moved the game into the 21 century with its "Partner Zapping' (cool) and no item boxes (much better) - but its this Remake version that is still scarier ...and much harder (as long as u dont play on 'wussy'..oops i mean 'easy' ...!! ). This also makes it a longer game than 'Zero'.

I've just completed it with 'Chris Redfield' and - especially early on in the game - its damn tricky . You have very little ammo and fewer saves and you have to plan everything you do...from whats put in your inventory to what and when you use an item or save or kill anything !! I messed up and had to play for about 5 hrs without having an' Ink Ribbon' to save my game with...by the end of that I needed a stiff drink...lol... ;O).
And i wont even get started on the new 'Crimson Head' thing - just a word of advice - blow the heads off (or burn) ALL zombies or you will regret it...

The graphics in Remake are 'next generation' and second only to 'Zero' (which is even more stunning).
Infact - Im playing Eternal Darkness (ED) at the moment and I laughed out loud when i saw the so called 'amazing graphics'. Compared to Resi's new 'Photo Realistic' look 'ED's look so DATED...they are ok in an 'old school' sort of way dont get me wrong - but still look like a video game... especially compared to 'Zero' ... and so far the ED gameplay is not great either but ill get back to you on that...

Sound wise the music and sound fx in Remake do there job in scaring the pants off the player - although 'a 'proper' surround sound mix (5.1 or ProLogic 2) would be nice next time...as would a 16*9 widescreen option...(Im in the UK... we actually LIKE widescreen ...lol...)

So the bottom line is that this is a superb Remake of a GREAT original - although i have to admit the original Resi for the PSX will always hold a special place in my gaming heart (somethimes you just cant top the original - just look at Metal Gear Solid or Tomb Raider !!).

These new graphics though - although prerendered - have taken (hopefully) not just Resi' but gaming in general away from looking like video games and closer to looking like the movies on which this (and lots of others) are based - greatly adding to the believability of the game - and if it were for that alone Capcom should be hailed as masters of their genre. The fact that they also created in many ways the 'genre/game series of the last decade' is just OUTSTANDING. Thanx Capcom.

PS: Now come on Capcom you need to 'Remake' the next 2 in the series rather than just 'porting' them across to the GC

PPS: Plus i need 'Resi 4' and/or 'Online' a.s.a.p - or before i get withdrawal symptoms... :O)

The first resident evil of 1997 for the Playstation was my first experience of the survival horror era.
That game was one of the finest I've played in years.

Now as an resident evil fan, Capcom decided to make a remake of part 1 and must say that this game is a gift from heaven!

First of all the graphics are truly spectacular and scary. The character design of all monsters and Jill and Chris are the best I've seen in a while for a game. The water also looks so realistic and I can go on and on :)

The darkness in this game with realtime lighting effects scared the hell out of me!!
Next to that the music is as good as of the other parts of Resident evil. The story is somewhat different of it's predecessor. Some plotchanges are added and I thought this put pretty much to the story.

I don't know why some of the reviewers are complaining about the gameplay, I thought it was just as good compaired to the other series.

if u own a Gamecube, I highly recommand this game to everyone. I think it's the best game ever!!

It's been months of painfull waiting until I got this last week, and Resident Evil surely is worth waiting.
The sounds, graphics and the whole experience is fantastic.
Theres several slightly different storylines depending on which character you play and how you play.
But...
The control system is difficult which suits this kind of game, so it's not so easy to avoid those rotting beasts. The one thing that truly sucks in Resident Evil is the inventory. You can only carry 6 or 8 items at once, and some tiny key takes the same amount of space than a shotgun. Because of this, there is lot of pointless running. That's why I only give 4 points.
A great game nevertheless !

there are 5 2002 resident evil games coming out for gcn re0 re2 re3 re4 and code veronica peace(from me)re2 comes 8/1/02 no further info (yes i'm lazy)ill rite again

No more Kidde Cube

This is a great game to lift the Kidde name off. I play the last 4 RE games, and this one was way different! I loved every bit of it, from when I started till I beat it. The opening was new for me, and way different, but great! If you played the other RE games, you'll be at home with this one, the controlls were easy for me. But some people have some problems. It wont take long to learn, I say a lot of people should get this

Well not exactly reborn just remade,mastermind genius Shinji
Mikami has really done it with excellents graphics,awesomes zombies that after you kill them they come back once again faster
and more dangerous than ever the game comes with 2 discs and new
places to explore and one the coolest feature of them all the
new defensive weapon feature where you can stop the zombie from
biting you with either daggers,stun guns and the flash grenades
which allow you to defend yourself against the eating flesh zombies you can also unlock just like the others resident evil
customs like Jill's custom from re:3 nemesis or Chris's custom from re:cvx I have to say that Resident Evil series are my
favorite games to play you can say I'm fan like others to the
point that I have bought 2 copies of this great game if this game is great wait until Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 come
out and maybe they will look better or great than this one,I have
to say that when I saw the screenshots for this game I went and
bought a gamecube and I was waiting for the game if you think that the movie The Night Of the Living Dead was one of the scaries this game is even scarier is like playing and seeing a
movie at the same time,but don't take my word for it if you're
a resident evil fan what the heck are waiting for,save your money to buy one copy,but if you don't have a gamecube well is gonna harder then or if you're new with re series I suggest you to rent it instead and see if you buy it or not,well nighty night
and don't let the zombies bite.
And as some final thoughts I must agree in some points with some reviewers yeah the game is missing little minors details still
the game is pretty cool and well some others say that the game
stinks and is missing a lot things then I ask this question to
some of you if you didn't like the game then why did you waste
your money buying it the producer of resident evil did his best
and tried to please us,us the gamers and for what to some others
ungreatful saying how bad the game is maybe we should put ourselves in the producer's shoes and see how some gamers dislike
the game your creation come on guys give the producers of this game a break they did the best they could to make this game as
great as possible and I must say they have done it bringing this
masterpiece back to a greater level of play with differents modes
to play such as normal mode,once again,survival mode and the other invisible enemy I have to say that survival mode and the invisible enemy mode are quite a challenge for me 'cause if you
finish invisible mode under 5 hours you'll get some bonus features well I hope you like my review of resident evil is not quite good hey nobody is perfect I hope you have pleasant dreams
after playing this game.
