If you are a Resident Evil fan, and you don't love this game, then there is something seriously wrong with you. This new incarnation of the original keeps it fresh by changing many key elements, not to mention adding quite a few new areas and puzzles to keep you sharp. Did I mention that it's scary as hell too? It's worth owning a Gamecube just for this title.
TOO SKARY!

This game was done horribly! The freakish zombies and crazy monstrosities were way too intricately designed. They looked so real! And the sound effects...believe me I was effected. Everytime I turned a corner they'd be there. Those nightmarish creatures that I always try to escape in bed. The game [is not good] It is way to creepy. Period.
P.S. TOO SKARY for EVERYONE! I really don't understand who the creators think they're audience is.
P.P.S I'm serious. I was really terrified. But I guess the game is alright.
Looks good, but...

I hated this game, pure and simple. Once again, Gamecube comes up with another lemon. Why is it that X-Box can produce GREAT games like Halo or Max Payne, and Gamecube still has nothing? Looking forward to Turok and Mace Griffen, but guess what? Those also come out on X-Box. What's the point of owning the Gamecube again?
Don't pass this game up!

Trying to describe this game is difficult for those with a vocabulary consisting of monosyllable words. Wow, great, good, and sweet completely understate this awe inspiring title. The graphics are beyond anything I've ever seen on any console ever. The power of the GameCube is evident in this updated version of Resident Evil. But it's not just the graphics that have been improved. Even veterans of the first game who know the mansion like the back of their hand will find shocks around each and every corner. Many people have complained about the play control on this game. I say to those people to take some advice from The Eagles and "Get Over It!" Awkward play control has been an RE standard ever since the beginning of the saga. Plus, if you give the game a little bit of time, you'll find that the controls aren't that bad at all. As for game depth, though it may at first appear to be a scene from a more violent version of Scooby-Doo, it will later turn out to have an intriguing plot that makes you want to play the other games in the saga. Even the soundtrack for this game is beautiful, although it's lacking in spots. The ambiance is very frightening but there's not enough of it. The amount of secrets offered in the game will also keep people's interest in the game, as long as they take the time to play it through again. If you have a GameCube, get this game. If you don't have a GameCube, get one for this game! (And then buy some of the other stellar titles) The power of the GameCube has finally been unleashed in this game, and the best is yet to come.
This game is way realistic and scarier than Eternal Darkness

One day I got Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil.Resident Evil's graphics look way better and the zombies actually look real.On Eternal Darkness The zombies are all tall and look stupid.
Resident Evil is longer and Better I beat Eternal Darkness. With
no help no strategie guides either. The ending is real dumb.So basically Eternal Darkness is a wannabe Resident Evil.
Awesome

This game has wonderful graphics beating games of any other system. It isn't a scary game even though everyone says it is. The zombies are actually drop dead funny. Limping around and moaning like they're wasted or stoned. it gets very easy once you get the controls good. This game is definately worth it so buy it! I don't have it but i've played it.

This game is so cool. I have never played it's PS one and Dreamcast incarnations, this game was my introduction to the RE universe.
It boast some of the best video game graphics ever. From the nasty crows and the tall zombies, it's all great looking. The game is full of surprises, yeah you better make sure those Zombies are dead because they come back even more violent. The mansion is full of surprises. And the residence is full of surprises. Killer bees, sharks straight out of "Jaws", a killer plant, and nasty monsters called Hunters are all in you way.
Tips,
Don't try to be a hero and kill Lisa Trevor in the cabin, she can't die.
Burn all zombies, they will come back as crimson heads and are faster.
Play with Jill at first, she can carry more stuff and she can do the grenade launcher cheat.
Make J Volt and take it back to the aqua lab, there is a room down there with the plants roots exposed. This weakens the plant.
Give Barry back his gun or you will get the wack ending.
Kill all those grasshopper, spider hybrid monsters in the lab before you go get the nitro glycerin. If you get the nitro compound and get attacked you will blow up.
Don't let the tyrant kill Barry.
And if you beat the game in 5 hours on normal you will get the samurai's edge gun.
This game rocks and you can play it over and over.
This Game ROCKS!

This game is reel scary. A shark hits a plate glass window and it starts to break scary. Its gory too. heads rollin gory. and thres a tad a mild language.(nothing ya wont hear in a PG-13movie). But I have 2 admit its fun.really fun.tha reeson i rated it with 4 stars is somtimes its sorta complicated wen u have 2 mix chemicals and stuf. So if ya cant get it, theres a reason, but wen u can, its a must have.
Masterpiece.......i truly felt my heart pound!!!

I was so proud of Nintendo when i purchased this game because i always expect the best from nintendo especially after Supernes and nintendo 64, Such great consoles can only evolve and Resident Evil 2 displays graphics that are so realistic that its hard to try and imagine a more stunning video game.
I think that Resident Evil [is better than] the Xbox and PS2,however PS2 and Xbox do have a larger variety of good games and can play dvd's.
But after playing Resident evil 2 i believe that Nintendos game cube has the abilty to perform wonders and if they applied the graphics they used for R.E.2 to other games like (Zelda) i would throw in my job and suffer multiple fits just to experience that special nintendo feeling.
Just a few words of advice, Turn your lights off and lock the doors because no other game can make your heart pound like this one,and try to hook your cube up to the stereo because you can actually hear them breathing on your back in Surround sound.
Try not to think about this game when you go to bed.
THE BEST GAME ON THE MARKET!
