I played shooting games in my life but but i cant say nothing about this i enjoy some shooting games but Metriod Prime can sometimes break the edge.
Graphics=Nothing wrong
Sound=I cant hear
Gameplay-Ok now if u like floating or shooting some FUTUREISTICS stuff then is the game for you BUT THE BACKSTEPS Is that its so confusing MAP IS ALSO CONFUSING.
OK now it should actually be your choice if your asking me ill rate it so-so but Gamespot rated 9.7 so its actually your choice.

Metroid Prime is going to be one of the biggest releases this year! The graphics and sound are amazing! A friend of mine went to this E3 not long ago and said it just may blow Halo (One of the best shooters I have ever played, rival to anything on the PC) out of the water. He also said it had enough bug goo to be rated Mature by theh ESRB (nice to know Nitendo is stepping away from the 'little kid' crowd and appeasing us serious gamers). Anyway, I have high expectations for this title. If I have any worries, it's that the game may be a tad to much o the adventure side, and less on the shooter side (this is the only reason I did not give five stars).
Terrible control

I hate this game because the controls annoy me more than anything. You people only care about graphics and sound and stuff, but who cares if you cant control it. I go to shoot, and I got to free-look mode instead. I cant use an elevator without scanning a stupid panel. I have to hit R, then L, then A to hit anything. Maybe the reason I hate this this is because I am used to GOOD FPS's like Timesplitters 2 and Halo and Agent under Fire where you can CUSTOMIZE the controls instead of being aggrivated for hours. I hate this game more than any other because of the controls alone. Rent It before you buy it, like I did.
Best Metroid installment in the series!

Okay, I loved fusion, original, zero mission, and super metroid but, this game beats them all in graphics, puzzles, and overall enjoyability.

Let me start off by saying this is a FPS (First-Person Shooter) and if you do not like these types of games, then this game probably isn't for you. I happen be one of these people, but I bought into the hype. While I admit that it is a good game, it didn't live up to the hype for me. Sometimes in the game I just had to stop and look at the jaw dropping graphics and the Morph Ball puzzles were the highlight game. The lock-on firing system made the game much more enjoyable to me. I have played the original metroid on the NES and I must say that they stayed very true to the source material when bringing it into the world of 3D gaming. A few downsides for me was the amount of back tracking and the amount of reading when scanning objects. I must say that this is the only FPS I have played for more than 5 minutes and that's quite an acheivement.
Not god-like but still enjoyable

This was Nintendo's other controversy after Zelda: Wind Waker's cartoonish look(which you should definately check out by the way). Traditionally a 2D platformer similar to Castlevania, Metroid always had a distinctive look and feel. Then Nintendo announced it was a FPS or First Person Shooter, and lots of people flipped but not as much as the Zelda one. When it came out, everyone praised it as the game of the year and the best Gamecube game to own. Well, it's not THAT good but it's still fun.
Story: Samus crash lands on a planet called Tallon IV. A mysterious vapor has turned many of the local plant and wildlife into menacing beasts and she uncovers plans of space pirates and also investigates the story of the Chozo, the ancient race of the planet. What little story you actually get is done by scanning, which is a stupid idea by the way. In order to get the best completion percentage, you have to scan every damn thing you see, including switches, enemies, screens, even blocks and walls. Ugh.
Graphics: Holy....****. This graphics are gorgeous. A highly stylized look with great lighting and details. Each level has a distinct look: ruins, ice world, lava world, factory type place etc.
Sound/Music: No voice acting but it's got awesome music. The beams sound nice and the creatures to their usual squeak and roars. The game is exploration based and the music fits perfectly.
Gameplay: This is where I have an issue. With the limited settings of the GC controller, you'll have to memorize how to do a certain thing. Samus has 4 visors: Combat, Scan, X-Ray and Thermal. They all look awesome, especially X-Ray but you do them with the D-Pad which is incredibly awkward to go to. The beams are done by hitting a certain direction of the C-stick and sometimes I had to hit it again because I didn't hit it enough to the right, I don't know.
The difficulty is considerable. If you're a casual gamer, this is one beast that's hard to take down. Hardcore gamers might find slight frustration. Often times you don't know who's shooting you and some of these bosses can take a huge chunk of life with one hit. Lots of backtracking which is incredibly annoying. And this is one game that you'll definately check walkthroughs for as you're kind of fumbling through the game trying to figure out what's what.
While this isn't a bad game, but like Halo, there's so much praise for it you wonder if you know something they don't because it didn't hit you that much. I'm about halfway or a third of the way through the game and I'd rather just beat it for completion purposes rather than actually want to see the end of the story.
Cool Game, but not sure if it is better than Super Metroid

This game rocks. You get awsome extras like unlocking 4 image galleries. Beat Metroid Prime, link to fusion to get the fusion suit in Prime. Beat Fusion, link to Prime and you get to play the Original Metroid. Heres what I thought the game.
Graphics 10/10 Excellent Graphics and area detailed.
Sound 8/10 Great music exspecially in Magmoor Caverns.
Game Play 9/10 Pretty cool game play. Tons of puzzles and awsome bosses. The only thing missing in the game should be Kraid. He would make a good edition to the game.
Extras 10/10 What more could you ask for?
Theres only one thing I don't get. Why every one says you hate where the save places are located. I mean really it's a good challenge. I thought that once, but I got threw it in a couple trys in the Phazon Mines. I didn't just quit. I kept at it. Well that's my review. Se Ya!

Metroid prime looks awsome. I think this game looks great because what other games have a mixture of a first person shooter and also have many mysteries and tough enemies? Well there aren't many. In this game you are the herione Samus Aaron. You get to blast mutated creatures and get tons of awsome weapons. You can also roll up into a ball. There won't be a multiplayer but that means that single player should be awesome. This game looks great. gamecube rules.
