Its not just a game, its an experience

Shenmue is without a doubt an experience in video games, there truly is nothing else like it on the market today. The graphics are so superb and meticulous attention is paid to every detail imaginable. The voice acting is rather well done too, although some of the voices sound rather sarcastic and like they're hiding something. The controls will take some time getting used to, but once you do you'll be loving Shenmue. This massive game was originally the first of many chapters, but Shenmue 2 has been cancelled for the US Dreamcast (a shame) so this is a true gem. By the way, there is nothing better than being able to play the original versions of Space Harrier (an all time favorite of mine), and Hang On (even though the controls for it are rather sensitive), and the other arcade games are fun too. Tedious at times, and sometimes just plain frustrating, Shenmue is an experience, and its a sin if your a Dreamcast owner and don't have this.

A game that everybody should have
Why would you not get this amazing RPG game for sega dreamcast
So if you do not have this game hit the stores and buy it quickly
Outstanding graphics
More than 4 1/2 stars are diserved for Shenmue
Enough gameplay to make your fingers sore for 2 months

Hit the stores and get Shenmue as soon as possible and if you dont...WARNING!
Your dreamcast is in deep trouble if you do not get this high action packed RPG game for Sega dreamcast.To bad though that Shenmue 2 is not sold in the united states. Go to all stores and all websites and if they do not have it go...but anyway this game is 100% and awsome. It teaches you a lesson and has an awsome moteve. Get this game soon.

Shenmue has to be the best game ever. Shenmue diserves more than 4 1/2 stars. If you dont have this game then get it as soon as possible. It may be a long game but it is worth the time. I have Shenmue 2 and it is also awsome. Get this game right away. Ask people for clues and whatever people tell you dont always trust everybody. You fight in free battle and chase Lan Di who has killed your father. It is a to be continued game but get the second one even though it is subtitled and not sold in the united states. You have been warned. If you do not get Shenmue your Dreamcast will never be the same!

Shenmue is by far the best game i have ever played for any system. The Graphics are amazing, and more importantly it's FUN!
I highly reccomend this game.

It was all good until the game endend. The ending is a real letdown, he learns one more move and sails off into the sunset. And now you have buy Shenmue 2 to see what happens next. Which is fine by me, all except Microsoft bought rights to it, so now you cant play it on you Dreamcast. Ah well, this is a good game, good graphics, graet gameplay and storyline, go buy it.

Good graphics.. kind of boring after a while but good if you are bored too. Just drink some brew and play... BUT....... and that's a big BUT........ be prepare.........

I was ready again to play my big journey and then the dreamcast tried to load the memory card and it didn't recoginze the saved data... So I LOST ALL MY INFO...

I'm sorry but NO WAY I'm going to start from the beginning.. very upset... what do I do now???

YOU have GOT to get this game!!! I got it last christmas and I loved it. The graphics are great, I love the battle mode and the mode where you have to press the buttons quickly to do something good. I love playing the raffle at the market and getting prizes. On my good game I have everything, like the games. i was a little disapointed about the length of the game cause I beat it before we went back to school from winter break. BUT overall its great, and if your thinking about getting it youll love when u get a job its the best part of the game!! GET SHENMUE

Few words can express my view on Shenmue, I played it and had beaten it within 14 hours. I couldn't put the controller down to do much of anything. The plot is good, the graphics are just outstanding, Probably Dreamcast's best EVER.

Shenmue is more than just a game, it's an experience. The graphics are incredible, the music and sounds are just as good, and the story pulls you in. It's true that the game is kind of slow-paced at times...but this isn't a fighting game or a sports game...so you're going to be disappointed if you expect it to be your usual pulse-pounding, action-packed game. The only other problem I had with the game was that the voices for the characters were pretty bad, especially the minor characters that populate the game. Even Ryo sounded boring and stiff most of the time. But to sum it all up, this game is amazing -- it has everything you could want -- graphics, music, controls, and a good storyline. I've finished twice already, and I'll probably go back for more. This is more than just a game, you'll feel as if you're in Japan, circa 1980.

If u havent played this game then u should. It is worth every penny. This game has realistic gameplay not to mention sweet fight scenes and 3 dics of [exciting] action. This is a must have for all dreamcast owners.
