Just the control, really

Shenmue is just like an interactive movie. The graphics are excellent, and they suck you in. Like, for example, when the weather changes, the whole atmosphere changes. The only problem is the control. It takes a while to actually get Ryo to not walk into walls and people. But, the sound, graphics, game play, and story line are great. If you are a fan of RPG's, fighting games, and really great games period, buy this one; trust me.

The Most Innovative 128-bit Game Ever

Certainly Sega's Dreamcast should have lasted longer than it did. With titles like Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventure 2 and Crazy Taxi among others, the system should have been more than a cult hit. Enter Shenmue, while certainly flawed, is definitely the most unique, playable experience you can get on the system. I'm sure you already have read tons of opinions on the game ranging from revolutionary to horrendous. It certainly is a revolutionary game, but being revolutionary doesn't make it perfect. For as infinite and limitless as the game's environment feels, the quest is actually pretty linear. You'll have to perform tasks in specific order, and some of the tasks (such as working and moving crates) becomes extremely monotonous. Otherwise, with the Dreamcast's best graphics and music and the best story line in video game history, Shenmue is a must have for Sega enthusiasts and those looking for a unique adventure on their television set.

I hope it's a PS2 game

I don't have anything to say much. I love this game and it's the best game that I have ever played.
The best thing about this game is the places. I love to walk around and look at the views of buildings and people. Everything is so realistic. So, I enjoy this game a lot. About the fightings, plot, and every other thing about this game are good. No need to say much.
It's not a hard game to play. Actually, that's another thing that makes this game the best. It's easy! Anyone can play it and not getting angry because you're dead or something. When there's fight, and you can't win, it'll just start another round. No need to worry. Just take it easy and enjoy the game!
I would absolutely, definitely, perfectly appreciate if this game is also made for playstation2, because I don't own a dreamcast system. I like PS2 more. And I don't wanna pay lot's of money for dreamcast just for this game. Anyways, it's a good game. Try it! You'll like it a lot.

Shenmue is based on a teenager living in Japan living a normal life in the country side until his father gets killed. This game is based on revenge for his father. He masters different martial art moves as soon as YOU learn then. It has great graphics, outstanding scenery, and great minigames. Minigames include going to and arcade where you would play 1985-1986 real SEGA arcade games. You will actually get to play them becase they're included on the disc. For an rpg fan, this is by far the most outstanding, original game you can find for Dreamcast!!!

Overall best game made out of any system

This game is moore than just amazing. It's spectacular. The graphica are out of this world and the game controls are easy to learn. You play as a young adult(Ryo Hazuki) who witnesses his fathers death. The man that killed his father was a man named Lan Di who is at the age of 31. Ryo doesnt know it yet but Lan Di is avenging his fathers death as well. Iwao is supposedly the one who killed Lan Di's father. There was nothing else to add to this game to make it better. Ryo Hazuki goes on a search to avenge his fathers death. He travels to Hong Kong meeting the Heavens and then fighting Dou Niu which is a fight Lan Di witnesses. You will meet with Yuanda Zhu and you shall go to Balui village to get the Phantom River Stone which is the stone the dragon and phoenix mirrors are made out of. This is an amazing RPG and role playing game ever made. It is the best game ever made. These are some reasons why the game is so cool.

1.The awsome graphics
2.The easy gameplay
3.Communicating with people
4.Seeing new places
5.The forklift driving
6.The storyline
7.The street-fights
8.Amazing mouth movements when speaking
9.Cool stores where you could buy stuff
10.You Arcade
11.The old games like Hangon, darts, etc.
12.The cars going by like real life
13.The facial expressions
14.The way the clock works
15.You work like a normal person by going to sleep, waking up, etc.
16.And most of all, the radical karate moves used in battle mode

It's like your the actual person in the game talking and meeting new people. Thank You Yu Suzuki

Shenmue-The Best Dreamcast Game Ever

Shenmue will put you in the position of reality in a video game. "Magic Weather" and "Time" will make the game even better. There is no bad things about the game at all. The game takes place 1986. You are Ryo Hazuki, a young school boy who tries to figure out about his father's death. The game is played using the D-pad which is fine for me. You can do just walk around the house one day and then fight 70 guys at a time the next day. You use keys to open secret boxes then figure out that they are a key too. The game never stops throwing things at you. I liked the game so much that one day I played it for twelve hours! I hope you like as much too if you decide to buy it, and if you don't you might say to yourself "Well, I guess I just missed the best gaming experience that will I will ever have".

Great and Addicting, but...

This game is one of the most addicting games that I have played. The bad thing is that the difficulty is quite low. I beat the game in a week just to find a disappointing ending. Don't get me wrong, I loved this game from start to finish, but I will probably not play it for a long time now that I beat it. This is a good game, but a great game must be able to played for a long time without getting tiresome. This game does not constitute a great game. The graphics are revolutionary. The game is the most realistic that I have ever played. But behind all of the eye candy, the game is disappointing. Rent it and judge for yourself. Yet remember, the game is only enjoyable if you get into it. If you rent, play the game at least to the second disc.

Shemmue Excellent Game

Shemmue in my book has lived up to all it was suppose to be. The Graphics are the best I have ever seen. The Story is excellent . Well lets just say everything about the game is great except one thing really. The Ending now I won`t spoil it for anyone who hasn`t played the game yet but the ending was shall I say very open ended and I really hope it leads to a Shemmue 2. I`m very interested to see what happens next in the Shemmue Saga. I`m sure alot of other gamers who have played this probably agree. Other than that one thing the game was excellent and I would recommend anyone and everyone to try it out.

Yu Suzuki is the Master

Developed by CSK's AM2, and procuded and directed by the legendary game creator, Yu Suzuki, Shenmue is nothing short of absolute brillance in the history of gaming. To the overwhelming amount of graphical detail (Nothing comes close folks. Not even PS2; not by a mile.), and the beautifully realized theme song. Imagine a game where you can go where you want, do what you want, almost any time you want to; and you too, will get the idea of how much you can make this game be either an unforgettable experience, or a bland attempt at doing whatever you want. Yes, you choose how this game is to you. If you stand around in real life, you'll be bored. You stand around in Shenmue, you'll also be bored. If you do stuff, you'll have fun. It's up to you to make this the experience it was sought to be, and there's nothing more fun than going to a virtual-arcade! Shenmue will become part of your life, you will want to learn Japanese, and yes, oh yes... you will remember this game. One of my personal favorites.
