Truely awe inspiring

I love this game to the stealing from shops to saving the land this game has it all. It incorerates the gta style of do anything and go anywhere with the sword play and dynamics of ff11. It is just so fun to kill a store owner and take his stuff and listen to the gossip as the people of the town will say that a store has gone out of business(he he). The charecter creation could be more in depth but the game is just enourmous. I will say this is one of the best titles for the xbox next to halo 2. The only flaw is the lack of online but then it would be more like Runescape. I can't wait to play its predacesor oblivion.

One of the top games of all time.

Elder Scrolls is definitely one of the greatest games. Ever. Iv'e been playing this game for years. This is one of those games you can either finish in a relatively short time but you will miss out on so much more. The Xbox version is great but the pc version is so, so much better. The mods available on the internet really add to the game and keep you playing for a very long time.

Good game if you don't mind long loading times

In my opinion this is the best of the Elder Scrolls games. Bigger world than Oblivion. More factions are in this game. The only thing I'd like to see from Microsoft now is to make this game backwards compatiable for the xbox 360. Come on you make Bad Boys backwords compatiable, but not Morrowind? Get your head in the game Microsoft.

Obscure objectives, but fun nonetheless.

The first thing you notice about the X-Box version of Morrowind is how bloody long it takes to load. Three minutes can tick by while you stare at a tiny black bar waiting for it to turn blue...or for your face to, if you've been holding your breath. I don't recommend this.

The game itself starts out promisingly enough, with an intriguing hero with no past whatsoever (it's pretty sad when you don't even know your own race). You fill in the blanks with a surprisingly fun amount of customization. As soon as you're done with this, SAVE. I guarantee you the game will glitch up fairly shortly thereafter, even if it's a brand-new copy.

If you haven't lost patience by this point, you're in for a fun ride. Morrowind's "go anywhere, do anything" style of gameplay was a refreshing change of pace for me, after growing up on "save the princess"-style, plot-driven Square games. If you're in the mood for depth, you can read books and pay attention to dialogue, go on over 300 possible quests that take you all over this big island continent. Or if you just want to kill things, there are plenty of caves and shrines to investigate and clear out, Dungeons & Dragons style.

I have yet to beat this game...I don't know anyone who has...but if you can overcome the interminable loading time and save VERY frequently (I find that once per game day is fairly reasonable), you'll find an engaging time-waster of a game that'll keep you occupied for a good long time.

Third copy to date...

I bought a used copy of this game at a local video game store this time last year. Instantly loved it. The options that you have are endless. Seriously played until the game wouldn't load anymore. So....had to get another copy. Got another used one. Beat the game finally, then had to go without because I wore out that copy. Learned my lesson: BUY NEW WHEN YOU PLAY FOR 5-8 HOURS A DAY FOR A YEAR! Love the game. Still playing (new character) and planning on starting another new character. Overall great game.

Too many glitches

This is a really fun long game. Unlike other long games it dosnt get to repetitive. I would give this game five stars but there are too many major glitches. theres a chunk of the game I'll never be able to beat because of a glitch. whole cities disapear. you will find yourself loading your last save game alot. This game has a pretty cool story line not great but good. The map is huge which is good. This game is addicting. I play it for hours every day. The expansions are fun. In Bloodmoon you can become a werewolf which is cool. I'm not sure I should recamend you to buy this. I think that the glitches out weigh the fun.

The Game of the Year version is the way to go

I love the game, but there are some serious bugs that have totally hindered the game for me. The Game of the Year version includes all of the patches that were released for the PC which would have been good enough for me. On top of that, however, they added 2 additional game modules that add on at least 80 more hours of play. This game has the most long term play value of any game I have played on the XBox. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic had the best storyline, epic feel, but I haven't bothered to replay it after I beat it. While I haven't beaten Morrowind yet, I will I keep on playing when I do beat it because its open ended nature means you can keep going.

Bugs and crawling....

With far too many bugs and crashes and the slowest load times of any save games ever seen on the XBOX this game is basicly unplayable by all but the most patient or fanatical.

Best VG yet!

Morrowind is the best game ever (so far) for many reasons. First, it is the freedom that the game allows, especially for a RPG. There is no being led around by your nose. Second, this game offers a lot of content for you to immerse yourself into. Third, even though the game will lock up at the most inconvenient time it still runs very smooth considering all that it remembers (if you place a sword in a chest it will be there six weeks later). Fourth, the ability to create your own story line and character along with other things such as your house and wardrobe is truly amazing. The only downfalls would be no multiplayer (that would awesome) and that it's buggy at times. Nonetheless, the game is the BEST game I have ever played (and I have played a lot) to date. In fact, it was part of the reason why I'm pursuing a career in game development. All game developers so take note and follow Bethesda path. So go buy it, lock your home, say farewell to your family member and or friends, and play it `till your head explodes or your thumbs fall off - what ever come first.

Disappointed

The game itself could have been one of my favorites, but the frequent crashes ruined any fun that I had. The loading time from saves is also long, which usually doesn't bother me, but combined with the crashes, it drove me insane.
I thought some of the bugs would have been worked out since the game was re-released, but I was definitely wrong. I wonder if this is covered under the warranty.
