The Elder Scrolls III series is an amazing, wide and beautiful world. Dont listen to the other reviewers that tell you that the graphics suck. The truth is, it doesn't matter. The world is so large and beautiful that you don;t even notice. Sure, there are bugs such as that if you add soultrap on target to ANY spell it stays forever. Character creation and development is awsome, with many classes. If you are one of the beast races, people may make rude comments on your posture and societal standing.
Overall, a wonderful experience that will provide a long and entertaing journey through Vvardenfell(yes, i spelled that right).

MORROWIND,good,bad?BRILLIENT!!!!!!!!!!
ELDER SCROLLS THREE is well frankly the best game ever, if you dont have it buy it but take it from me it WILL be worth it.
one of many good things about this game is the fact that you can do anything from killing a whole village for no good reason to stealing a spoon from some ones house while still doing the quest you where assighend or maby you would you would like to do a smaller local quest to earn a few bob so can buy some armer so that you can be prepared for the main quest. Ok what i am trying to say is that beside horrible looking trees morrowind is a must have game

This is truly what every hardcore RPG player could ever want from a console game. Endless, nonlinear(there is no other way to play) exploration alone will keep you entertained literally for months. This game is why serious RPG gamers need the Xbox.
The game is definitely not for everyone as it is VERY complex. But it is that complexity that makes it all worthwhile. What REALLY impressed me was that, after you have established what kind of character you are, you are basically given a nice pat on the back and told that you're on your own!
I certainly hope Xbox can continue with the series and offer gamers more titles like this. It truly shows what the Xbox is able to offer that other consoles cannot.

This is one of the best games there is. For me it's tied with Baldur's Gate. They are both wonderful games and you should try them out.

I was at the video game store in the mall and had made a special trip to pick up a copy of Halo and a copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, both for the Xbox. They were having a buy two-get-one free sale, so I hunted for a third game. I couldn't find anything, but then I see Morrowind with its "Game of the Year" label and I say, "What the heck, I'll take it." That was one chance that turned out for the best.
Morrowind is perhaps, the most open-ended game of all time. There are virtually no restrictions on your actions in the game, which has both negative and positive results. Yes, you can be the bad guy, the good guy, the sneaky guy, or somewhere in between, but your actions in the game can sometimes lead to corruption of your game file.
Very often my progress was mared by a stupid mistake on my part that forced me to start the game all over. As the player, you have to be careful not to misplace items that are essential in your quest. Also, I often found myself stuck in an area I simply couldn't escape, by any means. But lets get down to the main point-the main quest.
Morrowind's main quest is long and grueling. Most players won't even make it halfway through, much less complete it. But it is a worthwile experience if a little drab in the beginning. There are plenty of factions to join that offer their own quests as well as miscellaneous characters that will ask for help while involved in their own predicaments.
So far, this review does not specify any features of the "Game of the Year Edition" exactly. It includes the 2 PC expansion packs, Bloodmoon and Tribunal. These are perhaps the most redeeming parts of the game, as they offer much more detailed enviorments and items. Also, when in combat, you can monitor enemy health via a small yellow bar. This was a big problem in the original because you did not have any indication of an enemy's health at all.
Overall, this game has its problems, but you won't find another game out there like this. No game matches this type of freedom on the Xbox. At least until Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is released, anyway!
THE BEST GAME

In Morrowind, you can do basically anything you want. There aren't any obstacles that block your way. If there is, you can kill them, get a bounty. But the best thing about this game is how much free stuff you can do. You can make your living looting out robbers or going to Daedric Shrines and looting them. This game is a long and fun game, it's even better than Fable. Fable only takes about 7-10 hours to beat, and one day, i played the main quest for 7 hours. and that was in just one day. i don't mean to brag, but i think i'm pretty damn good at this game, and in those seven hours, i got only a little done. I never get tired of this game because there is always something to do, always something to find. If you are strong in it, and you don't know what to do, and you just feel like messin' around, you can go around killing people, and make a town...a ghost town. but overall, i would give this game 5 out of 6 stars, and the graphics are good, the storyline is good, the nearly endless armor and weapons...but there is only one downfall, 1) it freezes kind of a lot, and 2) if you kill some people randomly, thinking they aren't important to the game, they could be. but this game is GREAT and i would DEFINITELY recommend buying this game.
Outstanding, one of the most open ended games ever!

I was turned onto Morrowind several years ago by a friend and was intimidated by the size and scope of the game. It really is beyond anything I have ever seen before. The game world is enormous and I haven't even left the mainland yet. When people discuss the open endedness of the GTA series I laugh because Morrowind has that game beaten hands down. The funny thing about this game is you can play it for a hundred hours and still not complete one single quest regarding the main story line. In fact this is probably the best way to play the game. I ran through all of the guild and faction quests before embarking on the main journey and it took me months to complete all those quests. All in all the game is enormous. You can't finish this game 100% because the game changes to how you play it. Decisions you make eliminate certain quests from your line or changes events. Because of this you really do feel that this is a living breathing world.
SOme downsides to the game can weaken the experience for demanding gamers. First the game locks up an awful lot. Last night alone my game locked up 4 times in 30 minutes. THis requires you to save virtually all the time to prevent have to replay massive pieces of time. Adding to the frustration of lockup is the very long load times. Everytime a save game is loaded it is a minimum 3-5 minute wait for it to load. Even if you save your game then reload it the game still must purge the world and start over. Walking around also requires constant loading. At the start of the game this is rare and only happens during travel but gets worse when you explore more and more of the world. Right now I am finding that after uncovering perhaps 70% of the map I experience load screens every 30 seconds.
A few other downfalls are some of the construction elements. I have gotten stuck in places like sunken ships where my character would clip with a wall and get stuck. Also NPC's get in your way all the time and will stand in doorways to block your path and you cannot move them. This is just annoying.
The world itself although huge in scope has a very limited appearance. Much of the land is either swamp, plains, or rocky mountains. This doesn't leave much for creative scenery meaning after about 20 hours of gameplay you will barely notice the scenery as it is all rehashed from before. Even certain cities and towns use the same game art and lose their appeal after you see 3 or 4. Worse though are the sheer abilities of travel. At first I found it fun exploring this enourmous world but now that I have most of the mainland uncovered, performing quests get very tedious as it takes forever to travel by foot. I would contest it would probably take you and hour to walk from one side of the map to the other.
The map issue would not be a problem if the missions were constructed within reason but most missions saddly are a go here and talk to this guy/give this guy something/kill this guy. You can use some fixed forms or transportation like the riders and mages guides as well as your own teleportation skills but still foot travel is a must. And you will find quest ideas run short as most of the time your quests are only long becuase you had to travel so much and the actual task takes you maybe a minute.
However the quests do differentiate and having so many different types of faction and clan missions you can change it up. I can't wait to get to the expansion areas and see the new scenery. The two biggest issues IO mention that almost caused me to drop my rating were the clipping and lock up issues. Beyond that this game is amazing.

The title of my review says it all. It's got great graphics. The first day I had it I became a vampire. The game let's you choose from 9 races like dark elves, wood elves, just two metion two. I was addicted the second I started. it took me a while but i finally beat it. You can choose from a variety of weapons, like a Imperial Brodsword. I played it after i beat just so i could explore it all. I could play this for the rest of my life. I pay more attention to it more than my cat. The game never get's tiring.

I love RPGs (Fable, the Zelda series, etc.) and I heard that this game was just what I was looking for- WRONG! The graphics were lacking right off the bat and the character movement looked so awkward that I didn't even want to play in 3rd person view.
If you don't have the book & map, if you buy the game used, you're going to spend a butt load of time online looking stuff up because the game itself explains little-to-nothing about how it actually operates.
The game is way too big for its own good. You walk for, literally, 20 minutes to get to a town and find out that there really isn't much to do. Also, because the game is so expansive, they eliminated nearly all speech from characters, so you just had to read paragraph after paragraph of poorly written, and often confusing, dialogue.
I clocked over 20 hours before I realized that I had accomplished practically nothing in the grand scheme of the game and I just don't have several hundred hours to fiddle with a game that isn't very fun.
If you don't have a job or social life, and also don't have any sort of standards for your gaming enjoyment- this game is for you
Anyone else- stay away
best rpg ever
