this game rocks it's the best game I have. I am right where you have to get past the Nazgul. The graphics are real cool and the only downside is that the music stops when inside Bag End.

Just for fun. . .

The first thing that caught me about this game was the characters look NOTHING like they do in the movies. . . NOTHING. This didn't really upset me too much though. The game is a quick and challenging game. It took me 2 days to beat it. There is a trick to almost everything you do and fight. You get to be Frodo, Aragorn, and Gandalf(Gandalfs the best!). You can use magic with Gandalf, use a LONG sword and bows with Aragorn, and you can put on the Ring with Frodo. You battle people wolves and a multiple # of cave trolls and Orcs. Now I know this doesn't amazing but it's fun while it lasts. The graphics are pretty good if the characters looked like that in the movie. But this is a game to rent. You'll beat it too quickly. Although I highly recommend the second game, The Lord Of the Rings The Two Towers, that's also fun. So this is not the best game but it is fun.

AMAZING GAME EVERY MINUTE I WAS ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT

I loved the gameplay, the levels that you had to do, and the graphics. the game was not too long but it's not too short either. The Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Rings video game really captured J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece book at its best. I was hooked o this game until i beat it.

An awful game

Don't bother with this LOTR game from Vivendi. It was hastily done, poorly put together, and has no challenge what soever. It is the tamest of "go find the thing and come back here" games. Buyer beware. Even a die-hard LOTR fan, like me, shouldnt bother.

Argh....

this game ISNT as good as people think it is. One of the most annoying things about the game is its graphics. Its ps2 for christ sake! they can do better then that. However the game play is somewhat good although kind of challenging and confusing at times, not knowing where to go next. also the cinematic cutscenes are very forced, and the voices weren't done too well either. They sound almost nothing like the actual characters, and better graphics and the same voicing from the movie would make this game so much better. It was also an extremely short game and not too much replay value, since some things are very tedious in the game just making you want to stop. Its still a PRETTY good story line, but if i were you, id just skip by this game. Get two towers: its infinitely better.

Tech TV gave this 2 out of 5

Overall, "Fellowship" has a rushed and incomplete feel to it. Very little of Tolkien's trademark atmosphere is present in the game, and none of the environments truly feel like a living world at all. Key sequences are diminished by cut corners or perhaps technical limitations, such as the Council of Elrond scene. Apparently there were only so many character models to go around, as the council consists solely of the nine members of the Fellowship and Elrond.

What happened here?

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring was a wonderful idea. Black Label games has a good reputation and their game the Thing seems to be one of the reasons why. This game however is a definite pass. You start the game as Frodo which would be fine except that you aren't given any real sense of what to do. There is no map of the shire so all the quests you need to perform mean that you have to wander around to complete them rather than going straight to where you need to go. Also the load screens are many and take a VERY LONG TIME to get through. Maybe a mini game during them would help... I've heard that there are more errors and problems in the Xbox version so I decided to leave the game at the fact that they should have taken more time with this one. The game's graphics are not what they should be. The cut scenes are more what the graphics should be. Gandalf has been rendered very poorly in this game. The game could have been SO MUCH MORE. Hopefully the Two Towers which comes out on Thrusday will be better.

dude has anyone compared the two PS2 games???

hey y'all - this game is so much fun! wow, i'm so impressed. i totally didn't know what to expect, but what do you know, it's freakin amazing! the game is nuts! the music and sounds are off the hook, and the graphics are absolutely astounding. i had no idea that this is based off the the book, which i think is kinda cool. i haven't read the book, but now i think i might because it seems like there's a lot they didn't put in the movie. also, i don't want to play the TTT game before i see the movie, so i'll wait until they release the book version of TTT before i go out and buy it.

BORING

I was expecting something better from a Tolkien Game. This junky gameplay could not be worse! But lets take it one thing at a time. Well, the blood was cheesy, the singing was annoying, and the quests were pointless and annoying! The two stars was for the okay graphics. Good thing i only rented it...

Buy "Two Towers" instead!

This is a very mediocre game based on the book. You will probably enjoy reading the book much more than playing this game. If you want a "Lord of the Rings" game, I highly recommend "The Two Towers" which is much better.
