This game is so much better than EA's "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" because it has better graphics and gameplay. The storyline follows very closely to the "Lord of the Rings" book trilogy. And above all Universal Interactive's "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" is very fun and adventureous. Playing as Frodo the hobbit, Aragorn the ranger, and, especially, Gandalf the wizard was awsome! I highly recommend "The Fellowship of the Ring" PS2 game to anyone who likes the "Lord of the Rings" book or movie trilogy. It is so much fun!

This game isn't that bad, sort of.

I think it is not that bad because you get to play as gandalf,
and get unlimited ammo(frodo, aragorn).Ignore the review titled
this game is boring the writer said it was a dumb game, and that
it was hard, which it is not I have beaten it 27 times and I am twelve years old!The only hard,or even close to hard levels are
escaping the ringwraiths at bag end, which is right off the bat.
Then there is also the old forest, finding lilies for Tom Bombidil, and finally fighting the balrog in Moria.Just a tip if you do buy this game use Gandalf's lighting attack on the balrog,
then run foward and beat the crap out of him with your sword. But be carefull we he wakes up he will attack you with his sword. One hit will kill you,but that is what is to be expected he is Gandalf. So if you are me ignore what the writer I mentioned says
from what I read he seams quite simple if you know what I mean.

This game offers descent gameplay, a well set out plot, great graphics, and wonderful sound (not to mention the enchanting music (score). There is a lot of journeying, exploring, and fighting to do in this game. Fighting huge spiders, trolls, orcs, and other types evil creatures in the fantasy world of Middle-earth is fun! 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' for the PS2 is a good game to play that is just under twenty bucks. You should buy it!

If you've only seen the movie and have never read the novel, then you should buy or at least rent this game. It's a good summary of the story and includes a lot of things that weren't in the movie. Here's a spoiler on one of those different things: Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippen didn't actually go straight from Buckleberry Ferry to Bree on their journey; they went to the Old Forest and met Tom Bombadill(the eldest being) and his wife Goldberry=they were also attacked by a living tree, Old Man Willow. They even faced off against a dead Barrow-Wite in a creepy place called the Barrow-Downs.

As for the characters you get to play as Frodo Baggins, Aragorn, and yes, even Gandalf the Grey. Gandalf is definitely the best character in whole game; he's good with his sword and has a good arsenal of magic spells. This game's graphics are rather good (although it looks like it was originally made as a computer game). The fighting system kind of [smells] though, compared to the one in "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers", but otherwise it's a rather solid and strangely addicting game. The best thing about it though is the save system; when you save a game, you restart the game at the EXACT same place where you left off and you can save whenever you want.I give this game 3.5 stars.

Not Even For Free

I made a terrible mistake and bought this game for $49.99 the day it came out. If I waited a month (which I wished I did) I could've bought it for $20. This has to be by far one of the worst games I ever played. Needless to say I played it for about 45 minutes and quit, I never played it again. I thought it was boring, graphics and movement were terrible. Honestly if someone gave me this game for free I wouldn't take it. I love the books, all 3 movies were great, this game shouldn't exist. I wasn't too impressed with the other Lord of the Rings Games either but this one is definately the worst out of all. Try to avoid this one at all cost.

Vivendi GO HOME, EA knows how to make a game

This is absolutley terrible, what were they thinking? The graphics alone rank! I shouldn't even refer to them as graphics but rather "cartoon" graphics. The mission and storyline are bogus and lame. I dare anyone who says this is a great game to play EA's Two Tower or Return of the King then play this one.

If you don't mind wasting your money, then go for it and buy it, but if you want great games that enhance the LOTR book and movies, go and buy EA's Two Towers and Return of the King.

Wasn't what I thought it would be

When I played it for the first time I thought I was going to lose my mind!!!I didn't know you had to be Frodo of all people.
I was expecting more action not all the running I had to do to get out of the Shire. And Frodo is pretty weak in the first few levels. It got better once I got to Aragorn and Gandalf. My stepson beat it and we were stunned that it was over so quick. The ending was a letdown. It was fun once you get past Frodo but if I had it to do over I would not by it.

THIS GAME RULES!

This game is awsome, the graphics are awsome, and the gameplay is awsome. The Dark Riders are extremely hard to get past but once you get past, the game is awsome. The game is based on the books more than the movie. It aslo has 2 sequls (thats why it feels unfinished). If your not a big Tolkien fan, rent it first. If you are go out ang by it!

A let down

One thing I liked about the game was it contained parts from the book that weren't in the movie (for those who haven't read the book). I enjoyed the play through Moria, though it wasn't much of a challenge. I have to agree with the other reviews, a weekend rental. If you're looking for a LoTR game, get The Two Towers, it's a lot better.
