This isn't the same as the XBox game!

I don't know how people can review this title when they haven't played it or based on what they've heard about the XBox game.

This game was developed by a different company. It has none of the bugs that plagued the XBox version. It has a much better combat system that really brings you into the action, and fewer of the tomb-raider like puzzles from the XBox title. No gauntlet-style monster generators, either, and many of the character models have been improved over the XBox versions.

This is much more of an action-adventure title than an adventure or RPG title, and makes good use of the PS2 controller. You take turns playing Frodo, Aragorn and Gandalf, and since each of these characters has a different play style (sneaking around with Frodo, all-out fighting with Aragorn, and a cool magic/fighting combo with Gandalf) it's fun to play all the way through.

It's also great to visit some of the people and places in this game that were missing from the movie adaptation! Tom Bombadil and Barrow Wights, 'nuff said!

This game wasn't what I expected...

I've read some of these other reviews and I can't believe some people actually beat this game in 2 days. I got stuck right at the part where you have to get past the Black Riders in the Shire. I finally gave up on the game. It's a good thing I rented it because I would've wasted my money buying. The Two Towers game by EA is way better.

THIS GAME IS SHORT!!! I cannot believe how easy this game was to beat. I beat it in 2 days!! there is not much of a variety of enemies either. Only about 5 not counting the bosses.I would most definetly rent this game and not pay the 40 or 50 for it. This was the first game i got for PS2 and was disappointed. The only good thing about it is its graphics. They arent that bad. And there really are not many glitches in the game.

This is a great game! Getting to play as Gandalf, Aragorn, and Frodo was very cool! The game play was wonderful and the graphics The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring has is magnificent!

"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" is a great video game for the Sony PlayStation2. It has good graphics, sound, gameplay, and a wonderful storyline that goes by the author J.R.R. Tolkiens "Lord of the Rings" book trilogy very well. There are three good characters the game chooses for you to play as. Those three characters are: Frodo the hobbit, Aragorn the ranger, and Gandalf the wizard. The enemies you fight in it are: huge spiders, trolls, orcs, and much more. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" video game for the Sony PlayStation2 is a fun action/adventure title that is great for the average gamer.

Adventure games of this quality are hard to find

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, is well done. there are a few glitches in the game but the most drawing factor is that it is fun and challenging. GREAT graphics, controls are a little tricky at first, the soundtrack is well done, and the loading time isn't very much. This game is not aimed twards the masses but more to those who enjoy a good story line (DUH) and a lasting pleasure of a good game. Not overly violent, with a great lasting appeal.

stars! i like it better than jedi knight 2!
You get to be in ,The shire ,the old forest ,barrow downs,
bree ,whethertop ,troll shaws,rivendell,hollen gate , moria,
lothlorien,orc dam.The characters are Frodo who is good at sneaking and can use the ring freely.Aragorn who is good at stealth and attacking and Gandalf who is alright.he stinks at
defending and stinks at attacking.I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

You have to buy this game it is the best. The only hard part is the begining but after that it is alsome. Do not rent this game it is to hard to beat it that quick TRUST ME. There is so many words to express this game but I have one IT IS THE BOMB

this game is boring. in the beginning, all u do is run around as frodo lookin 4 stuff. when u actually get 2 fight the gameplay stinx anyway. the 2 towers is a whole lot better.

After waiting for 30 minutes to get through opening dialogue and the never-ending loading screens, I was relieved that there actually was a game part to this... until I started playing. The play control is revolting, the characters look like walking dolls. Oh yeah, and after trying 7 times to get past the OPENING SECTION (a.k.a. getting past the Dark Riders), I failed to get past the Gamgee land. No matter where you go, the damn thing sees you and you lose. I'm glad I only rented it instead of spending hard earned money on the worst PS2 game I've EVER played. I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.
