Fellowship of the Rings was a good idea but left me hanging at the end. The first segment was extremely slow and dull but I chalked that up to the British way of doing things. (It takes forever to develop a plot.) The last battle is a confrontation with the villain riding on a dragon taking place outside an interesting looking dark castle. I fully expected to enter the castle after defeating the dragon but alas, cut, that's the end. I'm the slowest gamer in the world and it took me about 6 hours to romp through this game that leaves you wanting for more. After playing Universal Studio's wonderful game "Draken", I expected much more from this creater.

This game is definitely meant for fans of Tolkein's text. It is somewhat entertaining, but extremely frustrating in parts! For example, it takes hours to get out of the Shire as Frodo, and as Gandalf it is easy to get lost in the maze of Moria. I probably enjoyed playing as Aragorn the most (although Gandalf's spells were fun!) but because Bree was so dark it was difficult to find all of the needed items quickly.
Rush job? or just a bad game?

I love Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books. I was very excited to see this game out earlier than previously announced. When I got home and started to play the game, I found out why this game was out early. It obviously wasn't finished and the developers were trying to get it out before the apparently much better EA version of the game came out. I was interested in this game because of it's advertised accurracy to the books. If that's true why does the intro cutscenes fail to mention any ring forged for the dwarves, elves or men? Not to nitpick but it seemed from the intro that only one ring was forged. Not that I need to nitpick. This game was boring. I quickly tired of running around Bag End doing chores. And why did it seem like I had to wait for the game to load every five minutes? Graphics were marginal. I'd advise waiting for EA's Twin Towers game to come out before investing in a Lord of the Rings game.
game kept me entertained

...the game was quite good. i started playing it with the mindset that it wasn't going to be good, but after the first little part where you don't fight, it is very entertaining and it requires some serious skill at points. like someone else said, you cannot expect to beat this one in less than a day.... or at least it would be tough. anyway, if you don't like this game, buy the the two towers because that one is a for sure hit!
dont buy this game

this game was a great dissapointment. although you got to play three different characters there were no special moves and the whole game was not challenging whatsoever. there are parts that have nothing to do with the book, and it took me about 3 hours to beat the game. it's not worth 50.00. so dont buy this game.

If some of you read my past reviews, it was back in the year 2000. But now im back and I want to talk about The Lord of the Rings! Beautiful graphics! You start at The Shire and you first get to face the black nights (it is hard). Later in the game you get help from Strider, Gandof and all of the other characters from the book (if you read the book). When everybody is together, it is very cool because you have to fight lots of orcs and other monsters. Im not going to tell you but at the end, you (Frodo,Strider or Gandof) and everybody else together will get a big surprise! Though 50 bucks its worth it! I hope this review will influence you to get it.

Well I bought the game not Knowing what to expect sometime movie licensed games are good and sometimes not. But to my surprise this game is cool. It is a good rpg, the graphics are cool. They look pretty good, and the sound is good as well. I really liked the voices for the chracters. Also I enjoyed the ability to wander and explore each level so far. I think the game is really fun. A cool LOTR experience.

This game is cool. Last week I picked up the LOTR two towers on the recomendation of my friend big mistak. It was very repetetive same gameplay over and over in different levels. Also there were a lot of Long Movie scenes in the game I didnt enjoy. However in the Fellowship of the ring for ps2 the game was much more original. ALso it follows the book rather than the movie so that was sweet.
