Am I the only one that finds this game boring?

While I agree with the other reviews that Crazy Taxi has excellent visual appeal, I find the game gets old very quickly. How many times can you drive variations on the same person to KFC? I think the game could have used some additional features. First, your taxi should be able to sustain damage. There is no penalty for driving head-on into a semi other than a slight delay. Second, the taxi should have an ejection seat to get rid of unwanted fares. Many of the fares are picked up on accident when arriving at a destination. Finally, there should be cities other than the San Francisco knockoff. The repetition in this game was very disappointing. While I don't think Crazy Taxi is a terrible game, I would simply suggest you play the game before you buy it. I bought this game without playing it first and was very disappointed; I hope this review prevents the same from happening to you.
A perfect Dreamcast demo game

If you wanted to sell someone a dreamcast, let them play this game. This is also the perfect game for anyone who owns a dreamcast, and wants to show it off. This is not, however, a game with any longevity. After I brought it home from the rental place, I was amazed by the graphics, the controls, the pace, and the pure enjoyment of the game. After an hour, I found myself wondering if I missed something. This game gets old extremely fast. There are no missions or real quests (except for a few small sub-games). This has it's good points and bad points. The good point is that there really is no frustration, no stumbling blocks. The bad point is that there is really no point of playing after you've explored both cities. Another bad thing was the fact that there was no multiplayer level, thus there was no competition. If this was split screen, where two players competed with each other for more cab fare, and/or where they could crash into each other, you'd have a mighty fine game. To sum up, it's an excellent core product, but it needs to be expanded like most games out there.

This game was simply incredible. I've seen better graphics on the Dreamcast before, but never was there a game that came together so wholely to make a near perfect videogame. Once you start playing you'll have a hard time stopping, and you'll find plenty of challenge trying to reach as many new realms of the cities as possible. Contrary to what some say, the game is truly challenging, and attempting to beat your previous highs allows for infinite replayability. The crazy box option allow the gamer to perfect their skills and provides some frustratingly tough side games to enjoy. Overall, buying this game will not leave you dissatisfied...unless you are obviously ignoring the unbelievable fun it provides.
Suprisingly fun...

I have to say I was suprised how much fun the game was. Never having played it in the arcade I didn't really know what to expect. The graphics are nice, the controls simple, and the environment is very interactive. The special moves are a little difficult to catch on to I think. Even got my wife to play it and she enjoyed the game

Not much of a "gamer" I didn't know what to expect. What I found was that this game is impossible to put down! A friend of mine invited me over to play and ended up staying for five hours! Good music, great sound effects, witty cabbies, and interesting customers makes this game a must-play. After a day I was bored with the game until I changed the driving views! Try it!

I have played this game, and own it as well. Ive been playing for over a month, and still not bored with it.It offers 2 tracks as the arcade offers 1,the new track has some slowdown. this seems to be the only problemn i have with it , other than that the game is really addictive, and fun. 1 + plus i have found in it girls really like this game they play it for hrs, even the ones who dont play games. This is my 1st sega, was a nintendo fan but have been reborn to sega. (SEGA RULES)

This is simply the most fun I have had playing a video game. I bought the Dreamcast for the sports games. Usually I am bored by the Drive around the track racing games. But Crazy Taxi is a completely free form driving game. You choose the short cuts (wrong way on a one way street, through the park, under water) in the quest of impressing your fares and garnering big tips.
Crazy Taxi has 3 playable games, "Arcade" which is pixel perfect to the arcade version, "Original" which is a less polished version with completely different cityscape, and "Crazy Box" which lets you practice your driving skills and unlocks other games such as "Crazy Bowling" when you complete all nine boxes.
Purchase Crazy Taxi with the MadCatz MC2 Driving Wheel. Its just like being in the arcade without the teenagers.

This game has to be one of the most fantasticly stress relieving games out there. You get to drive like an absolute lunatic, and get points for it. Take shortcuts through a park, drive underwater, ramp over cars during traffic, just get to where you need to get....a little like the Boston drivers.

Ok. This game is awesome. It has an awesome frame rate (60 fps.) and incredibly fun gameplay. I just bought it and love it. If your lookin for a fun and graphic crammed game get this one! It also runs practically perfect on the DC. I'd buy this game if you have the chance.
