Great game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 1

I looked at the box and didn't know what to expect. It was suprisingly fun as you are an invincible cab driver who breaks every traffic law imaginable. It gets boring after a while, but who cares? It's still a great game, to play and to show off, but not one you'll stay up late playing.

I love this game!

There are few games that I feel would deserve a 'perfect' rating, but Crazy Taxi is right up there. This is the first 'arcade' simulation game that I've ever played that honestly makes you feel like you're sitting there slugging quarters in at the local mall. After finally getting my surround sound working, the music on this game fits all-too-perfectly.. it really puts you in the drivers seat. There are few negatives, if any, I can find for this game, aside from the repetativeness that comes with playing it as much as I have.. a definite must have for any Dreamcast owner.

Cant stop being so crazy!

I bought Crazy Taxi when it came out 2/4/2000 and havent stoped playing it since. No matter where i am i am always thinking of crazy taxi. When driving down the highway i want to go on the other side and go as close as i can to the oncoming cars so i can get a tip from a carzy through. The game looks amazing and only slows down like once per game. There is a cabbie for everyone and the only bad thing is the missing multiplayer. Passin the controller around is still fun though. I have beaten all of the Crazy Box Levels except the one where you drop of the grannies and the one where you pick the baseball fans up. And i still aint bored!

THE MOST ENTERTAINING TITLE FOR DREAMCAST YET!

This is hand's down, the most entertaining title for Dreamcast to date. Regardless of the repetetive gameplay, you will find yourself obsessed with getting better fares, times and customers. The mini games are a blast as well, demanding you to polish your driving skills. On the surface there appears to be little skill involved, but just play through all of the mini games and you will see just how deep the gameplay can get. There is a little slow down when you get yourself into a serious wreck and there is slight pop up. You WILL get sick of hearing Offspring and bad Religion!

Highs: Incredible graphics, super fast gameplay, originality, overall design of game.

Lows:

Offspring music. Slight slow down.

In a nutshell:

Buy this game! I never thought driving a cab would be so fun!

The best game ever in any system

I love this game. The graphics are awesome the game plot are sweet. But one of the best parts of the game is the music by The Offspring. This game is definitly worth the 50.00 any day of the week. Sometimes I play for 3 or 4 hours at a time.Get this game if its the last thing you do

I went to Best Buy yesterday. I played this game! I bought a Dream Cast just so I could play it at home! There are chalanges, such as how many passengers you can pick up in a certain amount of time. There are cars and trucks in each lane! There are people that jump out of your way! This a great game!

Near Perfect Traslation

I loved the arcade, and I love the CD even more. (Especailly since I save a bunch in quarters.) Plus, you get an all new city and a training mode. Control is great and unlocking the secrets (like the taxi bike, and reverse city) is a lot easier on the CD than doing it in the arcades. The music (though cool) can get repeatative during long hours of play. Typing of hours of play, I suggest you take frequent breaks. My fingers would ache after a while.

Crazy Taxi a solid rent, but should you buy it?

The first time I played Crazy Taxi, I was amazed. The graphics were some of the best on any system, the cities were HUGE, the fun factor was there and the soundtrack fit the game very well

There was only one problem...

Everything became repetitive within a few weeks. I had explored all of each of the cities, there are only 3 or 4 songs on the soundtrack, I had conquered the Crazy Box, and the whole premise of the game had become boring. This game is a must rent, however, and if you find yourself absolutely addicted upon renting the game, then buy it.

(I'm giving the game 4 stars because of how fun it was during the time before it became boring)

Rent to make sure, but a must buy for a single-player fan.

I played this at Best Buy, the next week I bought a Dreamcast with Crazy Taxi. The major drawback is this: do not play for over 30-60 minutes or you will become extremely bored. After you have played Crazy Taxi for a few days, be sure to crank the difficulty to the highest and you're addicted. The fares DO get repetitive.

Could've Been Even Better

Even though Sega added in the bonus obstacle games and another city, it seems they could've done even more to enhance this good game. The same three or four songs play over and over, so a few more tracks from the Offspring and Bad Religion would've been nice. Also, besides a hidden bike, there really is nothing exciting to open up in hidden modes. I'll even say another city to drive and explore in was something needed. The game does get boring after a while when you're picking up the same people and dropping them off at the same KFC or Fila store on the corner. The game does have amazing graphics and control, perhaps better than any game I've played. Hopefully Sega considers additions if a sequel is made though because they can make a good game even better.
