It's the fun factor, not the depth...

Crazy Taxi is one of the most enjoyable and remarkable games currently on the market. The graphics are cutting edge and it is simply fun to play. The area where crazy taxi lacks in is depth. You will easily complete the trial missions(Crazy Box) and your only other option is to play the original or arcade modes which offer no rewards for completion. Also, there is no actual goal for completing the game and when you get tired of playing the arcade mode just for "fun", you will have nothing left except for a plastic dust collector. I recommend this game for people new to the DC or who are just looking for something to pass the time until Resident Evil:CV comes out.
FUN game, despite its drawbacks

This is a really fun game. It is really cool to cause mischief all over town -thrashing telephone booths, causing car accidents, running over hot dog stands- and still help out your customers.
The large environments are also nice. You can go almost anywhere: under water, through a shopping mall, and through a car dealership. Too bad there's only two of them.
The only drawbacks are stupid customers(you'll never complete any of the mini-games if you follow their directions), occasional slowdown, and a misleading arrow which is the only thing that takes any fun out of the game. Sometimes I'll go the direction the arrow is pointing, and then half way up the street, the arrow turns the opposite direction. Hopefully these problems are fixed in Crazy Taxi 2.
Even with its few flaws, Crazy Taxi is a must buy for anybody who owns a Dreamcast. Even with repetitive gameplay, you get repetitive fun.
Crazy Taxi is a must have game for every dreamcast owner!

All i can say is WOW this game is a trip. Let me tell you if you own a sega dreamcast you have to have this game. Why you ask well because its awsom imagine this taking off 160 mph in your own taxi and going through giagantic very very very realistic cities and picking up praticaly anyone who needs a ride and having a short conversation with that person and then they tell you where they want to go whether it be KFC, Pizza Hut, Fila Store, or any building in the city ect. Then you have to get to that building as fast as you posibly can. On the way to there destination jump buildings crash through telephone boths and People. As you fly through the city with your cusomer the people scream and run and it is awsome. This game is as fun as it is the first time you play it as it is the 100th time you play it. If you are like me and you like fast fun and awsome graphic games than crazy TAXI IS A MUST HAVE GAME FOR YOU.

Boy is this game fun. Incredibly well-designed and fast paced; you've never had this much fun driving people around in your life. The DC-only course suffers from some graphical glitches (lots of pop-up) and the directional arrow will drive you mad, but other than that, this game rocks. Great sound effects. Frankly, I'd rather have a pumping techno soundtrack than the same 2 Offspring songs over and over and over again, but whatever. Definitely a must-have for any self-respecting DC owner.

What an excellent game. So far Crazy taxi is my favorite DC game. Amazing graphics, some of the best I'v ever seen. You can choose from four cool taxi's and drives to pick up people and race them around San Francisco. On the way to where you are taking them (brand name stores like Levi's, Fila, KFC, Pizza Hut etc.)the more crazy things you do the more they will tip you when you get there. Crazy Taxi also has some great driving music from The Offspring, and Bad Religion. So for anyone who want's an adictive action/racing game, this is exactly what you want. Every Dreamcast fan should have Crazy Taxi.

Let me start out by saying that I never have been a big fan of driving/racing games. I bought Crazy Taxi the day it hit the shelves and fell in love. The great graphics, music, controls make this game a real gem. But the best part is that it is truly just a plain fun game. I have never laughed as hard when playing a game as I do with this game. If your looking for a true fun game then Crazy Taxi is for you.

This was a good game, sounds and graphics are excellent. Controlling the Taxi is easy. The optional play modes, being able to choose minutes, allows less experienced players to play longer. The only trouble I had, the special moves are not explained very well in the instructions, I had to look elsewhere for an alternate explanation, otherwise I would never have mastered them.

This game Is a GREAT game and a must-have for any dreamcast owner. First: the good (very good): It Is EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE. I promise you that this game will make your gas-pedal finger sore with pain. They prove well that simple is good. There are very few levels (two: arcade and original), but they are HUGE and detailed. I would've liked to see some more cheats (crazy pedestrian-flattening, anyone), but the crazy box makes up for that. Secondly, the bad: It has some good name bands, and If you were playing it in the arcade, I can see how the soundtrack would be great, because there are only a few songs. Playing the game for a couple hours straight (you will) The same songs come on over and over, thus driving you to go insane, or to create a bad pun: "crazy". Now, the Voices are cookie-cutter, which mean there's even less voices than there are characters you can pick up, which just kind of annoys you. Also, the people you pick up are the same people in the same places going to the same destinations (unless you enable the "another day" mode, which quit working for me after two uses)
This game Is The one game you HAVE to have within close reach at all times.
Brilliant game! Go get it!

I just got Crazy Taxi, and I'm really wowed by it. What a great game.
First of all, graphics. It truly is amazing. It shocks me still that the game can run at a consistent 60 fps looking so good with so much happening. As you drive through the city (which is brilliant, and very large, by the way), you see other cars running throughout and people diving for cover as you come speeding towards them. Along with NFL2K, Code Veronica and Soul Calibur, this is the best looking DC game.
Gameplay could not be more straightforward. There are a grand total of five buttons used, and it's very, very easy to pick up and play. So, if you've never seen the game, you just pick up the control pad and play. The control is excellent and very responsive. Then as you get better at the game, there are various other commands you can use as combinations of the buttons, which are also easy to execute.
The one question many people have with this game is lasting appeal. I can see how some people would get sick of it after a couple hours of play, but most of the people I know who have or have played the game play it hours on end without getting sick of it. I'm always trying to get more money than the last time, which drives me to be playing for a long while. It's very addictive. You should probably rent before buying, to make sure you're not among the people who will be easily bored with it, but my recommendation is to go out and get it, it's one of the best games on DC.
4.5 Stars... almost perfect.

First of all I would like to say I love this game and think it is the best driving game, at least for the Dreamcast. But I really would've liked multiplayer and also the game gets boring after 30-45 min of playing. (It's not one of those games you play for really long periods of time, but you have many short plays) Overall it lots of fun... Buy it!
