After playing the arcade version several times I decided with no doubt to get this game. Good Choice. YES! Great game with funny characters and great visusals. Many of the mini games are fun to. Even though the game may get boring it is still great . Multiplayer races would've been nice though. For 20 bucks this is a must own.

A very satisfying game. If your thinking of buying it, don't, just go buy it now. If you have played the arcade version, just add an extra stage, optional time limits andd the crazy box and you get Crazy Taxi for Dreamcast. Buy it. Its one of those games that you actually want to play after a month.

Sick of those shady, box like Playstation(1) or Nintendo64 racers? Tired of playing by the rules of the road? Want to drive over the double lines and play chicken with opposing traffic? Behold, Crazy Taxi for the Dreamcast. This near-perfect arcade port takes racing to a new dimension of entertainment - it's actually FUN. This game was made for the Dreamcast, period. The gameplay screams addiction and severe carpel tunnel syndrome. Crazy Taxi hypnotizes your skepticism about sound graphics, etc., and just lets you have fun for hours on end.

CONCLUSION: The most fun I've had driving on the DC. For under the price of a VMU, ... you can't go wrong.

Addictive.

Crazy Taxi is a highly entertaining and addictive game, which definitely qualifies as one of the DC's best.
The graphics are stunning. Gameplay is fun and keeps you coming back for more. Sure, the car physics and other aspects of gameplay aren't realistic, but that's what video games are for: fulfilling fantasies. And while the Arcade course is easier and somewhat funner, the new and exclusive course offers a fresh challenge that will take some time and effort to master.
Bottom line, this is a game every DC owner should have.

This game is just plain poor. There are so many bad things about this game it is hard to know where to begin. The worst part about the game is the voices and the music. At first, they are cool, but as you play it more, the music just gets more and more annoying and as you get more and more frustrated trying to execute absolutely impossible 'crazy' manuevers that are absolutely necesssary to play the game well. Meanwhile, the voices, mind you in some annoying 'SoCal' accent, repeatedly tell you you 'suck' while you inevitably fail to execute the precision button pushing needed to accomplish any of the game's objectives. The language the game uses towards you is downright offensive. In the arcade, where the game is from, I can see it working to badger someone to toss a few more quarters in to get back at the game but without the constraints of quarters, I found myself having the desperate urge to smash the game disc.

In other words, there are a billion better things to do with your $50 than to buy this game. For instance, checking out Amazon's tool section, buying a cheap drill, and making that proverbial hole in your head.

Sorta Fun

This game is fun in the beginning but it quickly becomes boring, what with only two tracks and a limited number of cars to drive. If you are into sim racing such as Formula 1, or GT this title may put you to sleep.

its ok...

The Sega Dreamcast version of the classic arcade game hasmoremodes which is good. It does get boring really quickly though. It has no point. All you do is drive people places. I reccomend just renting the game and trying it. It has great graphics and realistic gameplay, and if you want you can cruise around and hit cars and people and knock them over. WARNING: Rent before you buy.

great game

this game is great. it is definitely worthy or the title..."crazy taxi" because it is insane. you get to drive around at insane speeds, stop to pick up a person, get to thier destination as fast as you can, and get paid accordingly as to how fast you got them there. this is totally a "classic" video game and will surely get a players choice award, at least in my book.

Looks good but lacks depth

In Crazy Taxi, you play a cab driver that must race back and forth across a San Fransico like town, picking up and dropping off fares within certain time limits. You can earn bonuses for stunts and combo moves. This is a simple driving game that you can pickup and have fun immediately.

The game looks spectacular. The city is nicely detailed, the animation is smooth and the overall look is bright and crisp. The sound is good but a little repetitive (the same songs from Offspring and Bad Religion repeat over and over again). Similarly, the characters seems to have a very limited vocabulary.

The biggest problem with the game is it's lack of depth. Sega has added some skill testing mini games to lengthen the overall experience. However, the game does get slightly repetitive racing back and forth over the same territory and it doesn't give you the option to start from different locations.

Overall fun to play, looks great but lacks depth.
