MOHAA is a game that is ideally suited for the person who gives no regard for even the slightest bit of realism and decent storyline. Essentially, this game is a slowed down Quake with Germans and Allies instead of Marines and monsters.... I knew this was not going to be a Ghost Recon, Operation: Flashpoint, or World War II Online, but its pathetic, and made me remember why I gave up console games so long ago. Not even a hint of realism here.
MOHAA makes me think of the movie Kellys Heroes where the Americans march right through German lines and single handedly kill hundreds of soldiers, only this isnt even comparable to the movie because its so bad!
OK, the game's graphics are really nice. Not on the scale of Ghost Recon, but still nice. Maybe if the soldiers weren't so dumb and you at least had a little control over them it would be slightly better, but you don't.
I really cannot recommend this game to anyone except hard-core teenage Quake players. I bet it will sell a ton, because the gaming community has very low standards for success at the moment. Ill stick with Ghost Recon, Flashpoint, and WWIIOL for now. Hopefully you will check those out if you want good, fun, realistic games.

I am serious WWII and gaming fan, and I just don't get MOHAA. The idea of a game that copies the beach invasion from "Saving Private Ryan" is a good one, but MOHAA doesn't do it very well. You face hours of tedious subterranean cement hallways filled with the ubiquitous FPS crates before you even get to Normandy. Many of these hours seem plagiarized from "Goldeneye," and the occasional nice suprises -- for instance manning a .30 on the back of a jeep -- invariably overstay their welcome. Linearity is preserved by having things like velvet ropes you inexplicably can't cross and lights you can't shoot out even though you can shoot out the lights next to them.
I played this game on "Hard" to try to make it as realistic as possible, but the result was mainly that the Nazis could get strafed across the face with a machine gun and, after staggering back for a moment, keep coming. When one of my men threw himself on a grenade to save me, I thought "Cool!" But when he got up and kept fighting as if nothing had happened (because he wasn't scheduled to die yet), I was less impressed.
When I did finally get to Normandy, the game quickly became overwhelmed by the number of things happening (I have a PIII/256/32M nVidia) and became stop motion, even at the crappiest settings. And not that much interesting was happening anyway.
Older games like "Serious Sam" (which stays smooth with more assailants and much higher pixel and polygon counts) kick this game's rear technically, and MOHAA is never quite cool enough to make up for the fact that it seems so lazily designed and programmed. The best thing about it is the shareware patches you can download from the internet to make the game show some blood -- at least they're inventive.
The game's dull cartoonishness, grouped with its pretentious credits and music and ludicrous claims of realism (Supreme Allied Headquarters sends you letters that say things like "But now it's 1944, and much has changed since the Nazi victories of 1941-42!"), makes the whole thing kind of embarrassing. I was disappointed by this game. If I was a D-Day Vet I'd be offended.
I had a little fun playing this title

I thought this game had great sound, and gameplay. Though the AI, Multiplayer, and length all come very short. First of all the multiplayer is stupid as hell. 4 game modes is a joke. And the AI is simply put as crap. If I where to simply choose between Call of Duty and Medal of Honor: Allied Asault i would have to go with CoD.

This game is amazing. The graphics are awsome and you even disguise yourself as a german!! The multiplayer in the best. The single player is awseme to. The sound is amazing!!! I love the music too!!!!!! Some people think CoD is better, but you nedd a lot of compuiter to play Call of Duty. This means, with MOHAA, you can playon almost any computer

I purchased this game as well as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and I can say that Medal of Honor is significantly more fun in single player mode and has very few problems (video, continuity, etc) that I thought Wolf had. In fact, I gave up on Wolf before I finished the single player and bought this game. Most of the levels are well designed and follow a fairly straight forward storyline. Graphics, sounds, AI are all very well done for the most part. The Omaha beach landing level is particularly amazing. I haven't played much of the multi-player yet - initial impressions are positive although not nearly as fast-paced as Quake 3/Team Arena.

I don't know if it's the best game of the year, and I don't know how great it is all the way through, as I've only played a few missions.
Let's get something out of the way immediately-just about every FPS (first-person shooter) you can buy these days will be compared, sooner or later, to Half-Life. Having said that, I've played Half-Life, Half-Life is a friend of mine, and Medal of Honor is no Half-Life.
It is however a very good game that stands on its own merits. Yes, it has that Half-Life flavor I like where the story takes place as part of the action rather than during between-mission cut scenes. I found that aspect of Half-Life ingenious and engaging, a more "immersive" experience, as the kids say these days.
To echo the criticisms of others, though: The AI is not as polished as the AI in Half-Life. (But then, show me a game where it is.) If a surprised enemy rounds the corner and doesn't "expect" me, he'll run right past me and keep trying to run through a wall until I put him (it) out of its misery by pumping a few rounds in him (it). Moments such as these remind me that I'm playing a game and tear me out of the experience.
"Clipping" is another issue in Medal of Honor. That's the fancy of way of saying that when I kill an enemy, he sometimes gets so distraught that he'll become transparent and stick his head through a solid wall. My favorite, though, is killing a guard standing atop a table, who dies with his boots on the table and the rest of his body floating in mid-air. David Blaine, you eat your heart out!
Bottom Line: A good-very good-shooter with not a lot of replayability, but a nifty multiplayer component that ought to keep those multiplayer freaks happy. As the Wall Street analysts would say: BUY!
Incredible game!!! Bad system requirements

I have to say, the whole nazi killing and world war 2 thing has gotten kinda boring. A year ago, I was excited for this game's release, and I am highly dissapointed.
I had also been looking forward to RTCW, and this is a very good game. I have to admit, it is fun, but the story is dull, the violence is toned down, you have to play multiplayer on Gamespy Arcade, which swarms you with advertisements the instant you open it. I am highly dissapointed to see such a great game have so many downpoints, that I actually rated the game "so, so"
The other thing is that the system requirements are way, and I mean way, to high. The system requirements are 500mhz with 64 megs of ram. My 500mhz P3 computer with 256 megs of ram doesn't cut it. If you think that your old computer will do the job, think again. My computer has done nothing but crash and freeze day and night. This is very strange because I also have a radeon 8500 GPU, which should also have done the trick.
Except for the toned down violence, the gameplay is pretty good. (This game also has relitively bad AI too). Most of the time, the blood helps you out, and you find out if you have hit the person or not. I found it annoying when I thought I would kill someone and they would just run right up to me and shoot me dead.
I like the choice of weapons in the game. You have machine guns, a rocket launcher, rifles, SMG's, pistols, and some far out grenades.
To sum it all up, this game is good, but with many downsides and the system requirements are too steep. Hope this helps! This should be a good game on high end computers.
fun and challenging

I think Medal of honor was a great game. there was some bad things about the game thought like on Omaha beach the machine gunners know exsactley were you are! but with cheats it is a REALLY GREAT GAME!! One other thing is that you have to shoot the guys like 7 times unless you hit them in the head. i think that they should have more of a selection of weapons they have no hand to hand compat weapons(if you call hitting somebody with your pistol is) so it is hard there. you should also beable to man the big guns on boats and the 88's overall i think it is a good game and i recomend that you buy it.
... Game

I've played a lot of games and this one is the best. Realism and game playing raw excitement is outstanding. The D-Day landing is the most exciting segment I've experienced in a PC game to date. Each level is challenging with unexpected twists and turns.
The only complaint I have is having to use the keyboard for control. The ability to use a gamepad or joystick would be a big plus. If it supports a gamepad or joystick I've yet to find anything in the documentation or menus that indicate that. While into the game play I constantly punch the wrong button. With this game that can mean a quick death!!!
Not satisfied with the sound of my current speakers, this game has prompted me to upgrade my speakers to match my 4ch sound card. I know that will enhance my enjoyment of this game!!
Buy it!!!!!!! You won't be sorry.
